Hi ya'll!

DH (Rocky) and I will be joining the happy crew :) Actually, we've been booked since the PC in August, but there were situations that had to be resolved... all is now settled, and we WILL be on board. This is our 4th Disney cruise, and the first on the Wonder. We'll be celebrating our 36th Wedding anniversary (actually Sept 5, but that's close enough!). Rocky is a disabled scuba diver, and plans to dive whenever possible, while I'll stick to touring & photo ops.

Welcome aboard, Jane! :cheer2:

We're building a house right now...our kitchen cabinets were installed over the weekend! The countertops go in next Tuesday. :cool1: One of the reasons we decided to build was because it was time to renovate the kitchen. We just couldn't imagine living through that process!!!! ;) Bless you all who have the courage to do it! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the links about St Lucia. That's one island my DH and I have wanted to see for years. We many just rent a jeep and spend the day exploring on our own! We'll probably be the crazy fools swimming for the ship when we fail to get back to the port on time! :fish:

Have a good one!

Lisa

Hi Jane and welcome. There seems to be quite a few of us Aug PC cruisers onboard. We are all so spoiled that I now wonder if 10 days will be enough after the 14 days of paradise. Isn't that horrible????

So many people living through kitchen remodels. My DH and I lived through this process last year. It is quite a nightmare. At least you all have excursions to plan. That will take your mind off the mess.

Smola's Mom, Congrats on being a "survivor" of a kitchen remodel! ;)

So, how's the planning coming? I just booked with Frank's taxi in St. Lucia (thanks for the scoop winnys) for a tour including the volcano, botanical garden, waterfall swim and rainforest canopy zipline! We've also decided to do a shoretrips excursion in Barbados, including Harrison's Cave, time with the monkeys and a snorkle with the sea turtles. :teeth: Can you tell that we're getting excited?! :thumbsup2 I think we'll just do DCL's beach day in Antigua...we'll need to recover. And maybe Coral World/Coki Beach in St. Thomas. :smooth:

Funny, we're going to Aruba next week. We haven't planned a single activity. It's just something about DCL that brings out the compulsive planner in me. I know just when I plan to eat brunch in September, but I have no idea what I'll do on vacation next week! :confused3

How much did this cost you? Do you have a direct website where you booked this excursion?

ETA: Oops, I found the post where winnys posted the links, thanks!!! But am still wondering about the rainforest canopy zipline? I couldn't find on the website where it talked about that and I couldn't find the total price it would be per person.

Pooh,

I emailed a couple tour outfits in St. Lucia and asked whether we could add the zipline tour. Frank emailed back and said "no problem." He was first, so he gets my business. If the other guys get back to me, I'll post the info here. BTW, DCL is offering a zipline excursion, as well. We wanted the island tour, in addition to the zipline tour, so we went out on our own.

Check out the island info on the cruise critic website. They have lots of great input on each of our Ports. :goodvibes

Happy Friday and Happy Planning! :wave2:

I found out the volcano I want to see, too bad there aren't any excursions to it, it was the Montserrat volcano. Hopefully we will pass by it when it is dark so that we can see the lava.

Can I share a bit of good news? I have to tell someone. My DK's don't know we're going yet, and my Dh left this morning for the week-end. We have our county fair the week after Labor Day and they always have Thurs and Friday off. Less missed school days, right? Well I just checked the school calendar for next year and guess what? They have ALL week off this year!! :woohoo: They will only miss 4 days of Labor day week. This must be my lucky day!

Man, I can sure relate to the kitchen horror. It was kind of nice cuz we could eat out more. :teeth:

BIG thanks to all that are sharing their excursion info.

True. We have eaten out (actually *brought in*) food for at least 1 meal a day..... :goodvibes

My wife and I have been to St. Lucia several times. I might be able to advise on some of the excursions. I have not really read the list of options yet, but I did see that several people were interested in the volcano.

Don't choose your excursion based on the volcano. I have been there and it is not worth it. Have you ever been to yellowstone? It is just a little bubbling hole like a million you have seen there. And the smell about knocks you off of your feet. It is very strong sulfur smell. The locals say it makes you live longer.

We have sailed a catamaran from Castries to Soufriere (Pitons are there). That was pretty nice. It actually included the volcano.

We did horse back riding on the eastern coast. That was very cool. We rode up and down a secluded beach and then barbecued there. We also got to ride bare back in the ocean!!

We have flown on St Lucia Helicopters. We did a shuttle rather than a tour. It is very awesome!! But pricey. Once we flew between the Pitons!!

Thanks for your input, Whazzapp. We're doing an Island tour, so if we're running short on time, we'll know which stop to skip! And besides, we've been to Volcano National Park in Hawaii...now that was truly awesome...I doubt whether the St. Lucia volcano could compare! :thumbsup2

Did that take you to the Montserrat volcano that is near Soufriere?

Pooh_Friend, Montserrat is another Caribbean Island that has an active volcano on it. I think I remember reading a previous post where someone mentioned they hoped we sailed near Montserrat at night so we could see the lava glowing in the dark.

I am not exactly a wiz at this computer stuff, but who has the roster and how do we access the roster to ensure the info is correct? Thanks. Alex

I am so busy right now and feel so bad. I need to actually make myself sit down and plan for excursions. AND SOON!! Our time is coming fast. You guys are doing an awesome job.

On the first page of this thread is all the info! HTH!

Alex, I just went over to the first page and saw that you are doing lanyards and name tags. How do you want to handle it? Do you want us to send you a payment before you order them?
