Morning Yall!!

Why I don't get to go to WDW or DL, I just remember I do get to have a bit of Disney fun this week!! I sell group tickets for Disney on Ice and our yearly meeting is tomorrow! I get all kinds of cool Disney stuff! Plus my free tickets to the show!! YAY!!! Can't wait to see what I'm getting!

This sound like a lot of fun. Send pics of the cool stuff.

We actually booked this cruise last year BEFORE we went on our first! LOL1 We've gone on 2 (3nt) since we booked this one!

It was from reading the disboards & getting excited for our first cruise that convinced dh & I that we would want to do the 10nt!

I normally plan my cruises pretty far out as well...I have one in January that has been booked since March and one for November 4, 2007...that has been booked since June....this one was a last minute kind of thing!!!

Not used to booking and going so quickly though...

I have to confess we just booked this cruise in July. We had just gone on the Magic in May but My DH and I just couldn't stand it any longer and just had to get back on a DCL ship.
Sailing with DCL is sooooo addictive.

All of my trips are TA last minute stuff. Usually I have a month notice sometimes less. I booked this one on Aug 3rd.

But I grew up that way also. It was nothing for my parents to beat on our bedroom doors and tell us we have 15 minutes to pack and be out the door. One time what started out as a trip to the store turned into a weekend trip to Oprayland. We had to stop on the way and buy EVERYTHING! We didn't even go back to the house and pack. I always keep at least 3 days worth of clothes packed in a day bag with all the nessies. Ever week or so I'll change it out with fresh clothes and throw out any expired items. When winter comes around I'll change from summer to winter.

I originally booked this cruise on board the repo cruise last August - couldnt pass up the $500 OBC.

But then I transferred that ressie to Thanksgiving 2007 because we didnt really want to take the kids out of school for 7 days. We thought about going just DH and I but grandma was uncomfortable being alone with the kids for 10 days during the peak of Hurricane season.

But then low and behold the Florida resident rates come out in March and our tune changes since all 4 of us are going for less than it would have cost for just DH and I before FL resident rates. It may be a little extra work getting the kids all caught up in their school work when we get back but I have no doubt it will be well worth it.

It was unusual for us to book onboard but with the 500.00 obc, it was too good to pass up. DH was pushing it and that is unusual. He isn't a Disney freak like me.

Welcome to all the recent joiners to this thread.

Me and my family appear to be the only group travelling from the UK on this cruise (i'm sure that's not true really ). We fly out to Florida next Wednesday for a total of four weeks well-deserved rest.

I haven't posted much over the last week as I've been so busy. So busy in fact I decided to take two days off from work. Big mistake. Yesterday I had a phonecall to attend a Social Security Appeal Tribunal (representing the Government Department) and on the way out of there I had a voicemail from the Police requesting I attend the Crown Court within the hour. Crown Court in the UK is VERY important (it's the one where the Judges and Barristers wear wigs) so despite the fact I was on a day off I had to attend. I was a professional witness (again on behalf of the Govenment department for who I work) and had a very short time to meet the Prosecution and read the papers. The judge was very grateful to me attending at short notice and it was all down to mix-up between the Police and the Prosecution (the Crown).

Anyway after getting home we had a short time to change before we went into town to watch the local carnival - it's the second biggest in Britain.

This morning we were woken at about 07:15 by a thunder and lightening storm. Nothing too unusual about that as we live on the east coast (we can see the sea from our home). Suddenly there was one of the loudest bangs and flashes of light I've ever seen. Everyone came out of their rooms to see if everyone was alright. I got dressed and went outside to check the house and surprisingly every thing was fine. I went through the house to check the back of the house to be met with smoke pouring out of neighbours roof. It was apparent that their chimney had been hit by lightening and set the house on fire. Almost immediately there were four fire engines on the scene and within 20 minutes they had the fire out. Fortunately, the people were out of the house at the time (they had take a short holiday) but have now returned.

It's our 15th wedding anniversary today and with all the "excitement" we nearly forgot to exchange cards.

Anyway, as you can imagine I can't wait to get back to work tomorrow for a rest. I've only got two more days in work before we fly so time will rocket by.

I honestly believe that we now have everything ready for our holiday and cruise. Helen has packed and re-packed so many times and I think the flying nerves have subsided a little as well

We have arranged with DCL to collect our docs in Old Key West when we stay there so we'll have to wait a little longer although our DME docs have finally arrived (and our DME card).

I booked this cruise late too. Wee booked at the end of July. We used to book about two months out and then we started booking about six months out so this short notice isn't that big of a deal. I don't know about being ready in 15 minutes (Amlee I am very impressed), but I like having them booked short notice so I don't have long to wait.

I did one cruise on the magic in 2001 and ever since I have been tryign to get my family to go too. We finally found a good price at a time when we could go so we grabbed it.

I wish i could vacation for a month! We are going to be gone 13 days for this trip and I was worried about being gone that long! Enjoy your month away!

The biggest bummer about booking so last minute is that there are no Palo brunch ressies available ... going to have to see what I can get once we got onboard.
