9/26 or 10/5?

We have only one day we can go to Disneyland. Do we go Friday Sept. 26 or Sunday Oct. 5. Sept. 26 we would need return transport from a Long Beach hotel--how would we do this and what would it cost? On Oct. 5 our transport would be from a Santa Monica hotel. Again, how would we do this and what would it cost?
Can we do both parks in 1 day? We're both 50ish but have done WDW so many times that we thought we'd give DL another visit. We did it with kids about 5 years ago.

If you are comfortable around thousands of gay people go on Oct. 5 (http://www.gaydaysanaheim.com/). If you are looking for smaller crowds I think Sept 26 would be your best shot! Check with your hotel and see if they have transportation to and from Disneyland. Else a cab may be your best bet. You can't do all of both parks in one day buy you can do most of the rides exclusive to DL then hop over to DCA and check out the rest of the exclusives there!

9/26 is the planned opening day for Haunted Mansion Holiday. If it's anything like the matching day last year (9/21), it will be a bit busier than normal, though it's also a Friday, which again is going to bring up the crowds.
