Sad news at my house. My dad passed away Tuesday evening. My desire to finish these FEs is a bit non-existent.:sad2: I could certainly use prayers that what NEEDS to get done will and what DOESN'T won't...and the peace to be okay with all of that. :goodvibes I apologize in advance for half hearted FE gifts!;)

His service won't be until a week from this Saturday b/c he lived in Savannah, GA and we are all from Evansville, Indiana...thus the delay.

This cruise is definitely coming at a good time. Having many "gotta get away" moments!

Soooo looking forward to meeting you guys in two weeks...ish!;)

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I am sure I can say your "disboard extended family" shares in your sorrow. I know this is a difficult time for you and your family, but your family is in our prayers. In the Loss of Your Father, May memories of your father's love and happy times you knew ease your hurt and make him seem still close to you everyday.

As far as the FE gifts, please do not put that burden on yourself. I think we all understand and the best gift you can give all of us, is to take care of your family, and relax and enjoy yourself on your cruise....sending hugs from Michigan :hug:

GOOD MORNING CRUISERS!!!
I was surprised enough this morning to see 16 days, then my sweet husband said, "Yep, two weeks from tomorrow we'll be in the car headed down!" Now that really made it seem close. I wish I didn't have short stories to grade this weekend - just want to do cruise things. Okay, I want to read too - I have been trying to wait and read this one book only on the cruise, but I want to read it so badly! Maybe between short stories this weekend, I'll get a few pages in now and then! Okay - off to work.

Everyone have a good day. TJ - hold on. The weekend is almost here.

Good morning fellow cruisers!!! I hope today is a good day for everyone. Two weeks from today my mother in law, GramaBelle, arrives at MCO!:cool1: The boys are really excited. We are still fighting with Liam on this potty training thing. He is potty trained but for some reason over the last 2mths, he has been having more accidents. I hope it does not continue. I dont want them kicking him out of the OC!:confused3

I'm sorry you are having accidents. I wonder why? Victoria just had the occasional bed wetting like maybe 3 times over a year?

Yes two weeks from today I will be putting up my "sorry! I am on a Disney Cruise!" sign on my cubbie "door" :woohoo: Courtesy, of course, of Jordak!

Okay...so is this crazy that I feel like I know you all!??? Your kind words, prayers, thoughts and wishes are making me feel very hugged :grouphug:and loved...and I've never met any of you...yet!

Yes...I'm soooooooo thankful that this cruise is AFTER dad's service. It will be a welcoming get away for Bill and me. This strangely happened last year to me as well. Last July 31st I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had already booked a "girls getaway" trip with my sisiter-in-law. Thankfully my doctor okayed the trip before my surgery. It was probably one of the BEST trips I have ever taken...getting away to clear my head before a big bump on my road in life. Love it how God knew everything that I would be facing and gave me a little respit in the middle of life's craziness. (We escaped to Jensen Beach, Florida...shhhhh...not too many people know about it and it's a GEM!:thumbsup2)

My sister was my dad's executor so she will most likely be heading to Savannah to handle all of the final details...I just go to Evansville...only about a four hour drive from Indy...so not so bad of a trip.

Thanks again EVERYONE...I can't tell you how excited I am to meet each and everyone of you! In TWO WEEKS!!!!! WOO HOO!:cool1:

Well it sounds as if you are in good Spirits in spite of the everything else, so glad to hear that. You sound as if you are a very resilient person. Again I know this is a trying time for you and your family, but please know you have a "disboard family" here to encourage, support and pray for you and your family (even send you some pixie dust to brighten your day)

Well as you travel to and from I pray for your safety of you and your family. May Gods loving hand provide you with peace that surpasses all understanding. We all wish you comfort today to help you in this time of sorrow, We wish you courage and faith to guide you through each day. We send these few words with hopes that it helps to know we all care.:littleangel:

Well sweetie, I too feel very close to you. I think people get to know each other more online then they do in person because it just seems easier to talk about more personal things online. Plus you get on a subject that someone else brought up that you would never think about, and that sparks similar experiences in your life. I cant wait to meet you too!

Funny thing about your story in July is, the woman that is going with us found out the beginning of August that she had breast cancer. She had to undergo surgery August 31st and is still recovering. As you know, we decided to abandoned the idea of WDW after the cruise and just take another cruise. That would have been very hard on her to walk the parks so more than likely she would have had to stay in the hotel most of the time and of course, mom would stay with her missing anything in the parks. I ALWAYS drive to Florida. I dont like to fly and after 9/11, really terrified me. I have a things with heights anyway. But we decided to fly this time. Basically because Mom didnt want to ride all that way and neither did her friend. Riding over 12 hours to Florida would have been very hard on her as well. It does amaze me on how God works. This is going to be the BEST recovery for her. 8 days of relaxing and sailing with no appointments at all. God really does know the future. He is so good!!

Aww I am so sorry! Just think, the cruise is right at the PERFECT time. You will have MUCHO time to relax and get that muscle to stop spasming. (is that a word? Well, it is now!) Just think....Palos....Palos....you are still sitting with us right? :teeth:

Yep, Jen I will be so honored to dine with you at Palos (in my fancy princess: tea with the queen voice princess:)

I like to eat, or at least try new foods, I love seafood. So I cant wait.

Jen, are you doing anything on board for Victoria's birthday?

Well, today is the day I decide if we are doing the back 2 back, DBF still wont be able to join us....urgh new bosses and all the micro-managing makes it impossible for him to join us. However I asked Jordak to make a sing for his office with a quote from Walt Disney himself that says: " "A man should never neglect his family for business." ( I know shame on me, but hey Walt said it, Jordak created it, I just hung it up :rolleyes1)

Well if we do the back 2 back on the 3-day we are going to do a Cat 11 or 12, no frills stateroom. So I will know in a few hours what direction we are going. But if we do, we wont do the FE on the 3-day...to close to departure.:sad2::sad2:

Well it is time for me to go take muscle relaxers my neck and shoulders are spasing out!!!!!:headache:

EVERYONE HAVE AN AWESOME DAY...GROUP HUG FOR ALL :grouphug:

Oh BRILLIANT! (in the best English accent I can find ) I ADORE good company for High Tea!

I am sorry that you DBF wont make it but :yay: that you are thinking seriously of going on the second one! I am planning on upgrading my stateroom to a suite. They have the 1 bdrm and 2 bdrm still available so here's hoping we can upgrade! If we do, you are MORE than welcome to hang out there. Everyone else is going to from that trip! LOL Dont worry about the FE. It is not a big crowd anyway.

Well, I am not sure really what to do. I have brunch and high tea scheduled for that day, but if she wants to do anything, I will cancel for me. I seriously doubt she will be able to tear herself away from the labs though. I am going to give her a cell phone for her birthday but I wont give it to her until the 30th because she can play with it in port where if we are at sea, she will want to play with it and it will cost me a fortune if she plays with it then! lol I am sure we will do presents. Mom is getting her something and I am SURE Karen, mom's friend, will too. I think I might take her to lunch or dinner so they can give her a birthday cake and she will have lots of shirts that says it is her birthday so I am sure the labs will make a big deal but other than that, I really dont have any plans.

Are you feeling any better with the muscle spasms? I hope they stop soon! You cant be dealing with that on the ship! It will interfere with our fun!

They are offering some really good interline rates (I work in the aviation industry) for the Sept 30th cruise on cat 5,6,7 staterooms with verandah, and I'm so tempted to book us on it :teeth:
I'm not sure our work schedule will allow it though :(

I'm still hoping they will offer the same rates for this cruise, but it looks like it will be a full ship

Any of you guys ever been on a totally booked DCL cruise? Is the difference THAT noticeable when you are onboard?

YAY YAY YAY YAY! :yay::banana::cool1::cheer2: Everyone come on to the 30th cruise!! Hey Dan, maybe your son could pull off a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday cruise! That's only 2 days off! :teeth: Just dont book any cat 3 or 2s! I REALLY want that upgrade!

** I didn't read the question carefully enough - I answered as if it had been asked if anyone had ever sailed a sold out cruise - period, not just DCL; sorry.

Mack and I have - more than once, and like Kamy said (or did she say it on a different board; now I can't remember), just because the cabins are sold out does not mean the ship is at capacity. I have never been on a cruise when getting a chair by the pool on sea days was not difficult, but other than that, I've never seen a really noticeable difference. Maybe I haven't been on a cruise that was empty enough to make me say, "Wow!" I've been at the parks when it was that empty.
