Any of you guys ever been on a totally booked DCL cruise? Is the difference THAT noticeable when you are onboard?

Can't speak to the difference because the only one we have been on was totally booked (DVC Member Cruise 2008). I can say, though, that we never had a problem going to a show or any other event and it didn't seem too crowded. The only time I remember it seeming too busy was when we went to each lunch on Castaway Cay at the Adult beach, but even that wasn't so bad and we got a table. Bottom line, I don't think sold out is a problem at all.

TJ , My prayers are with you and your family. I lost my husband and my mother in a 2 month span. Never easy for anyone. The only way to get through it is to have faith and love your family. Your family and the Disfamy are here for you.
Hope to meet you soon.
About the FE, just forget about those, there are enough people giving that yours will not be missed. NO stress:flower3:

Well sweetie, I too feel very close to you. I think people get to know each other more online then they do in person because it just seems easier to talk about more personal things online. Plus you get on a subject that someone else brought up that you would never think about, and that sparks similar experiences in your life. I cant wait to meet you too!

Funny thing about your story in July is, the woman that is going with us found out the beginning of August that she had breast cancer. She had to undergo surgery August 31st and is still recovering. As you know, we decided to abandoned the idea of WDW after the cruise and just take another cruise. That would have been very hard on her to walk the parks so more than likely she would have had to stay in the hotel most of the time and of course, mom would stay with her missing anything in the parks. I ALWAYS drive to Florida. I dont like to fly and after 9/11, really terrified me. I have a things with heights anyway. But we decided to fly this time. Basically because Mom didnt want to ride all that way and neither did her friend. Riding over 12 hours to Florida would have been very hard on her as well. It does amaze me on how God works. This is going to be the BEST recovery for her. 8 days of relaxing and sailing with no appointments at all. God really does know the future. He is so good!!

Wow...that's so crazy...my surgery was last year on August 31st. I think we must be kindred spirits!:rotfl: I can't even imagine traveling after surgery but again...God knows just what we need. So YOU remember that when you board that plane!:thumbsup2

Is Victoria about to pee her pants:rotfl2: that she gets to celebrate her birthday with Mickey and Minnie on the ship???? I am for her:lmao:...and for everyone else celebrating. I keep getting people who think Bill and I are crazy for going on a Disney cruise WITHOUT our kids. But I'm thrilled! They don't know me very well!:thumbsup2

See you two weeks from Sunday! Holla!:thumbsup2

Faith "muscle" definitely being stretched...but I would rather have that than no faith at all!:thumbsup2

Thanks, Vera!

Well it sounds as if you are in good Spirits in spite of the everything else, so glad to hear that. You sound as if you are a very resilient person. Again I know this is a trying time for you and your family, but please know you have a "disboard family" here to encourage, support and pray for you and your family (even send you some pixie dust to brighten your day)

Well as you travel to and from I pray for your safety of you and your family. May Gods loving hand provide you with peace that surpasses all understanding. We all wish you comfort today to help you in this time of sorrow, We wish you courage and faith to guide you through each day. We send these few words with hopes that it helps to know we all care.:littleangel:

You're going on vacation? Where ya goin'? hehehe

GOOD MORNING CRUISERS!!!!
TJ - Our faith is what sustains us, and you are so right - better to be stretched than not to know that faith! Hang in there, and please know folks continue to pray for you.

I think we have a lot being celebrated on this cruise. We are celebrating my husband's birthday in early October and our anniversary which is in November. My school schedule would require me to take these days without pay if we were to wait till in between both events. I'm ready to celebrate. :yay::woohoo:I'm sitting here looking at my husband getting ready to go ref rec league while I drink my :coffee: and get my breakfast ready. I'll be spending the day - and I mean the whole day - grading. I am planning my lessons such that I will have no grading to do over fall break! A lot of teachers assign a test just before or a paper due just before - not me; all my classes are testing on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll have everything graded by half day dismissal on Friday!

Okay - a few more minutes dreaming of being on the :boat: and lying on the :beach: then I will eat breakfast and begin grading before 9. I'll check in here periodically, but I am turning off the phone and hunkering down to get all I have to do finished today! I want to enjoy part of my weekend.

Have a great day everyone! It's almost time!

Good morning everyone!!!!:cutie:

mimi- Cannot wait to see you! :hug:I am counting down the days till we get to dance away at the Sailaway Party:banana: We plan on getting to port super early to hang out with you guys! Dont want to miss a minute of friend time!:woohoo: Good luck getting all your grading done. All the hard work will definitely be worth it come cruise time! :sail:

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I still cannot believe that it is 2wks away!:yay:I dream of sailing away into the sunset...with a drink of course! :drinking1

Ill be doing the same thing today. Trying my hardest to get all orders out by Monday. Kamy...your FE and your Mom's FE will be in the mail Monday. Your FE is completed and your Mom's just has to be sewn on and the edging done. :teeth: I am taking off Pinocchio! He took me 2 hours to stitch!! Half that time changing out thread! It was really comical.

Jen- LOL! Sorry Pinocchio gave you so much trouble. Is he on my moms FE or did you take him off?? Just curious! I am sure they are beautiful and we are so excited!!!:goodvibes

I am working today, but really wishing it was sailaway time tomorrow!:wizard: 2 weeks seems so far away but so close when I think of everything I have to do:scared1: I am just hoping everything I ordered online arrives in enough time! Many nights at the computer ordering stuff:surfweb: LOL!

Oh he is on there! I wouldnt dare take him off of an order. I havent done him before so it was a learning experience LOL The mad hatter is the same way, but I dont care. it is really cool to see them stitched out

I know how you feel about the time. I am just excited that I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was so upset that I wouldnt get to my FE gifts but it really looks like I am going to be able to get those done AND pack WOOHOO!!:woohoo: My Mom's friend, Karen for those that might want to be social and TALK to her, will come down the week before. yay!! Does anyone know if they have wheel chairs in the terminals while you wait to board? I know they have seats, but I assumed they are the hard plastic uncomfortable ones. She is not going to be feeling spry so I thought a wheelchair would be good for her.

I love this board - great for a break! All quizzes and tests graded. Now I have 33 short stories left - glad I got one class's done during the week. Of course what I have left is one section of CP and 2 sections of honors, so they range from 3 pages to 13 pages. This is almost as bad a research papers, and they take me an hour+ each. I am hoping the rubric I am using for these will allow me to get through them a little more quickly! I also hope they're entertaining!:lmao:

Good morning, everyone :)

This is such an uplifting thread and group, even in the face of serious trials some of you are facing, the faith shown and positive outlooks are inspiring ~ I feel really blessed to be meeting all of you :) :) :)

My son is off here soon to go to an auction sale with my mother (they love those sorts of things, yard sales, church and estate sales, etc). My husband called and said he is on his way home (half day today) so I am going to get ready to get some last minute things done ~ a couple more FE gifts, and hopefully a new dress :) The one I wanted to wear (I bought it on an amazing mark-down with no where to wear it ... until the cruise, that is) but now it doesn't fit ~ which is a good thing showing I lost weight :) Now to find another (I wanted to see if I could have it altered but no one in my area does that sort of thing, and I I sewed it, well...)

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend :)

Yes...I'm soooooooo thankful that this cruise is AFTER dad's service. It will be a welcoming get away for Bill and me. This strangely happened last year to me as well. Last July 31st I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had already booked a "girls getaway" trip with my sisiter-in-law. Thankfully my doctor okayed the trip before my surgery. It was probably one of the BEST trips I have ever taken...getting away to clear my head before a big bump on my road in life. Love it how God knew everything that I would be facing and gave me a little respit in the middle of life's craziness. (We escaped to Jensen Beach, Florida...shhhhh...not too many people know about it and it's a GEM!:thumbsup2)

TJ

My wife had thyroid cancer 10 years ago! She had it removed...Still here :)

Awww...glad to know!!!!!!!!! I told all friends and family they couldn't get rid of me so quickly!:thumbsup2

Tell Joy we can compare scars. I'm sure hers looks much better than mine since it's been a few years for hers to fade. But I don't really care anymore! It's a part of my journey here on earth!:thumbsup2

Looking forward to meeting you two...and Shadow of course!

2 weeks from right now....I am sitting on a flight heading to Orlando International Airport.....I'm getting misty-eyed thinking about it.
(forwarning for all of you: I am a sap...I cry at everything! I'll be the one in the theater crying during the shows...sorry if you hear me sniffling away!)

Today, I am searching for books to put on my Nook for the cruise! :surfweb:

7 hours and 15 minutes later, I have only one class of short stories left to grade - 16 of them. I keep telling myself that in two weeks I will be ____ (fill in hours away) from the Radisson and time to enjoy the pool before getting on that beautiful ship 2 weeks from tomorrow!!!

Hi everyone. I've been MIA for a while. There have been a lot of changes going on here at home - nothing really bad but just has kept me super busy all summer. And sadly I haven't been able to gather anything for the FE. For anyone in my group I am so sorry and please just distribute whatever you had planned to some of the other families. I'm really ready for this vacation and can't wait to get through the next 2 weeks.
