9/26/2010 Breezin' to the Bahamas!

I would be shocked if I had time to read. I might be wrong, but it seems like there is ALWAYS something to do. I will look through the navigator and see the stuff I want to do and look up the time and it is like 10! It just blows me away with all the stuff we can do! Even with staying on the ship during Nassau day.

I thought about staying on the ship on the Nassau day, but then we booked the Ardastra Gardens excursion - I was nervous about Nassau, but this excursion seems safe and fun, and the historical tour through the city is on an a/c bus, so that seems safe too. I think we may try the Straw Market in the morning, come back for a nice lunch, then take the tour, come back, see a show, etc. We live in the sticks, so when I read about crime in Nassau I was kind of creeped out, but at the same time, I want to see those marching flamingos LOL.

Mom went on a cruise with Dad once to the Caribbean and she said she got off somewhere and they had armed guards. NOT a good sign! lol She said there were men with guns EVERYWHERE. I trust Castaway Cay. Not sure about Nassau....but I DO want to see what it looks like. Just too scared.

Born and raised in ACC country, so my favorites are there. I always pull for Army though since dh went to West Point, and I pull for the Georgia Southern Eagles since our daughter is there and was a cheerleader for them.

I have my stack of books to bring on the trip!!!! I can't wait to start reading by the pool, in the pool, at the beach....ahhhhhh

Pleasure reading is such a luxury to me, that vacation wouldn't be vacation without reading. On the Member Cruise, there was SOOOO much to do and things to do that I can only imagine happen once in a lifetime, so I don't think I got much reading done, but I know there won't be those kinds of things to do on this one, so I know I will make time to sit back and pop my book open!

Forgot to say...we got our Cruise Documents on Friday! I was super excited and I love the look/feel of this one! I agree, though...it doesn't have quite as much of a "treasure chest" feel to it like the old ones did! I like it, though!

We got a packet today for one room...waiting for the other adjoining room. It is "officially" almost here. We leave one month from today.....we are staying overnight in Philly and have a 7am flight, 1 month from tomorrow.

Doing Fri/Sat at HRH, Universal....cruise Sun-Thurs...thurs-Sunday...AKV. Life if sooooo good!!!

This is our 4th time in Nassau....to be honest, it sucks. I would not venture far from the boat, there is a straw market real close. We only plan on getting off for an hour or two, then back to the boat.

Here is my...why it sucks story. We were eating at a restraunt, sort of like a Hard Rock rip-off, we were outside on the deck. As we were eating, a rat Mom and Dad and their 3 kids came up to join us. We were the only ones bothered.

In addition, I can't stand the drug merchandise (bongs, bowls), the requests to braid my hair and NO....I do not want to buy and peanuts. Why are they selling peanuts....atleast get a hot pretzel or something!

First day of Kindergarten went well and Ryan says he has a girlfriend! So cute!!!
We got our docs over the weekend. And while I like the spiral book idea, I wish they were a little more "exciting"....is that too much to ask! LOL!

I always bring a book or two, but to be honest, while I really WANT to read on this cruise, not sure I will do much. I mean, we are cruising with great friends and my husband and I are looking forward to spending time together and with the friends and family.....and then there is the Navigators...those darn things! Seriously, I looked at some recent ones and there are soooo many things I want to do! So we will see..........

Wow Don! That is an awesome upgrade. 10 cruises and still no upgrade for me....crazy, but maybe someday!

I am sure about NASSAU..........DW and I call it another day at sea. A do nothing day if you will, don't shave ,go for my 6:30am walk, come back shower go down for B'fast come back put on some swimming trunks,go down and find a shady spot by the pool, WOW! ENJOY, ENJOY. The only thing is missing is , my morn. paper...........and some good coffee. Nesscafey......it s_ _ k s.
