I like the new brunch selection, so I want to change my vote to that.
Chalex - I just peeked out my door hoping to see a disney surprise, but all that was on the porch were the trash cans. But YAY for you!! :Pinkbounc
I can change it no problem! :thumbsup2 Scott suggested brunch on Key West morning in his post this morning.

Boy, can I ever relate. We just put our house on the market last week and are hoping we don't get any offers in the next week or so from people wanting to close while we are on vacation. We are considering building a new home so hopefully we can get everything tied down with the builder before our trip if we decide to go in that direction. I can completely relate to being ready for a break during a crazy time! :joker:

I wouldn't worry about a closing date conflicting with your cruise. If someone wants your house, they're going to wait a week for you to come home. I'm thinking the cruise is less than 4 weeks off, it's not likely someone could close that fast even if you had a contract tomorrow. Wouldn't it be nice to have such a problem, though? With our last house, we had a buyer in 6 days. I don't see that happening this time, but I'd be happy with 6 weeks.

It's ironic that our family would be going on a cruise while the house is for sale because when we came to see this house, the owners were about to go on a cruise.

We have brunch reservations at Palo Key West morning. It would be really cool if we all (minus kids unfortunately or fortunately) could have brunch together at Palo. A Disboard brunch.

If I could have two votes also, my first choice would be for the 3pm on Saturday and the second would be brunch on Sunday. (edited to be more specific)

Well, I am really just planning on doing it myself, but I have read that the staeroom host will do it too. In my case my DD is only 3 so she will not question at all. With older kids I would probably have the stateroom host do it because it will add to the magic. I might tip him a little extra but there is no formal charge if the host agrees to play Tinkerbell.

Maybe if you tip him a lot extra he'll put on a Tink costume!! My oldest is 11, but he'll play along. I doubt we can do the Tink thing next time. By then he'll be old enough to want Tink and not the presents. Oh, brother!

:wave2: Hi there! I just discovered the board a little while ago and have been reading all of the tips but just decided to find our group!

There will be 4 of us, Me-35, DH-50, DD-9-almost 10, and lil' DS-1.

We are so excited for the cruise! We have cruised almost every cruise line out there but this is our first Disney Cruise. We live in Marietta,Georgia.

We fly into MCO on Friday evening and are staying at the Raddison next to the port.

Nice to meet all of you!

Melissa

I think I recall reading that the cruise docs usually arrive about 2 weeks out give or take. We also received our ME info last week and now are excited to get our cruise docs. :dance3:

Thanks. I was getting nervous!

Welcome aboard Melissa and family!!!

OK, I voted before but since it did not get counted, I think I will change my vote.

I like Memickee's suggestion to rank our choices so here are mine (if we decide not to rank, please go with my first choice):

1. Day 1 - 3pm - Promenade Lounge
2. Day 2 - Brunch
3. Day 3 - Time and location TBD

Welcome aboard Melissa!

I will make my final vote 3 PM on Saturday. Given the desire to get in the pool, play, and all that, I suspect my kiddo won't be in any mood to do anything other than what is on HER agenda Monday morning. Too many options! The first afternoon things will be a little less panicked and "busy"

The old days required one to go all over the ship to make reservations, check in the kids and all that. This cruise with the Palo reservations and excursions done online, we should have an easy afternoon.

Not only did we get some rain yesterday, but a cool front wafted in - we are forecasted a high of 88! Oh my, it's almost heaven! :)

Welcome Melissa! I'm glad you found us and not a moment too soon! It will be interesting to hear how DCL compares to the other cruiselines you have experienced. I've never been on another cruiseline.

Scott, I hope you are enjoying the fine weather. It's a little cooler here but so muggy!

Angie, congratulations on getting your documents. Are you the first one in our group? Last time, ours were so long in coming, I remember calling DCL just to make sure there wasn't a problem with our reservation. Since we are using the same TA again, and the agency is still understaffed, I expect we'll be in the same boat.

I wonder how Heidi is coming along with her family's month long multileg vacation. Heidi, if you're out there reading this, please check in!

I love it that the trip ticker no longer says any number of months! Just days! :cool1:

Woo Hoo! We got our cruise docs in the mail today! In 24 days we will be at the Hyatt . :cool1:

Monica,

Thanks for the reassurance on the closing date. I think we are in the clear now. I was nervous because one of the couples that looked at our house this weekend had to move quickly and I was nervous they would want to close at the end of September. No offer yet, so I think we good.

Regarding the 2 votes, ranking them in your post is a great idea but it might get confusing to have more than one vote per person in poll. I did it temporarily for Scott and Cahlex only because I didn't know what their final vote was. I am more than happy to do whatever the majority wants though. :wizard:

Hi Everyone,

My name is Anne and our family is gettingready to sail with all of you!! We are soo excited. This is our first disney cruise. I have been reading all of the entries and some are alittle confusing to me. But all in all thank you all for the wonderful enlightening information that you have given on this web board !!
We have a 3 year old and my husband , and Aunt and I are traveling. Hope to see some of you there
Also we have not gotten our paperwork shouldwe be looking for it this week or next?

Anne Hawkins

Welcome aboard Anne!

We don't want to leave you confused. Feel free to ask anything you need clarification. We'll do our best to clear it all up.

One might expect to see their paperwork any day now. Although it's not a necessity to have anything other than maybe luggage tags if you are flying in on the DCL air program. Otherwise, if you fill out all your stuff online, you'll be set.

Hi, Anne,

Welcome to the board! You're going to have a great time. Don't worry about what you might not know. We have the answer key for the final exam you have to take before you get onboard. :rotfl2:

You're way ahead of the game just being here and learning as much as you have so far. Besides, just think of the tens of thousands of families who love Disney cruises and have never been to the Disboards!

Cruise documents - last time we cruised, we must have been the last family on the ship to get our documents, it was definitely in the range of a week but less than two before sailing. I had called DCL just to make sure there was no mix up. No mix up, my travel agent hadn't sent them to us. Waiting for the documents was a little like being in the company of a bunch of families due with a baby the same month. Everyone got their documents and there was us still waiting!

Hi Everyone,

Well my husband called me at work to say that UPS just delivered our package !! YEAH . Im so excited.

What is everyone voting on? Just curious

thanks

Anne

 I am right there with you. I keep trying to convience my self that I DON'T HAVE that much left, when the other side of my brain YELLS, yes you do...and I grab for my never ending list.

I am the type that can not function without a list, even on a daily if not hourly basis... So this is killing me. :lmao: My hubby is the type that is like.... "you tell me when and where, and how much time/days I need to take off of work" This is for everything from vacations, to school plays, to dinner out with friends... I literally email him once a month so he can sink it up on his blackberry... :lmao: don't laugh it works...he has no excuse to miss out on things anymore :thumbsup2 And he will literally pack the night [late that night] before we fly out.... but I'm guilty I have "trained" him without trying to, he KNOWS I will NOT forget anything..... every since "the" time..... read below :rotfl2:

:guilty: :guilty: We took our first curise for our honeymoon 12 years ago...and as we were un-packing I GASP, SPEWED, AND CRIED as I realized that I left my cosmetics case sitting on my bathroom vanity... so NO makeup, NO brush or comb, NO curing iron, NO hair dryer, NO shampoo or conditioner, No lotion NO headbands, scrunchies, rubber bands...NOTHING... for an 8 night cruise... And I have LONG [down to my waist hair... And I swear to you the small little store on board... DID NOT sell any make-up, brushes, combs, or hair items... but it did have shampoo and conditioner... I NEVER ate in the dinning room that whole time. :rotfl2:

Hope you all have a nice night...I'm off to triple check my list.. ;)
