9/22 Mnsshp

What is everyone's opinion on how the new system of not clearing out the park completely is working? Did you see a lot of bystanders without wristbands? Just curious. Thanks.

There must have been a rotation going on on 9/22 with a huge crowd on one side of the park and no one on the other! :hmghost:

We had a GREAT time. Yes, it was more crowded than during the day, but only because the days were so light last week. The will call line was a little long when we got there at 7:30, but then I noticed the kiosks and got our tickets right away (we ordered them months ago).

When we entered, they were lining up for the first parade and we got a front row spot right on Main Street on the corner next to the ropes, so we had two front row views of the parade (which was fantastic). The rest of the night we walked on to absolutely everything. The only wait was 5 minutes for Peter Pan. Haunted Mansion was empty every time we went on (the ghost in the yard was hilarious).

Fireworks -- we sat on the ground right in front of the castle with plenty of space around us, even though we sat down 5 minutes before they started.

We were 2 adults with no kids, so maybe that made it easier to get around? We did go on most of the kiddie rides, though...

As for the wristbands, by the time we got there before the first parade, they must have ushered everyone else out -- didn't see a single person without a wristband.

Anyway, this was my second MNSSHP -- first was back in 2000. I did think that one was better, but I really liked this one too. I'm sorry not everyone had such a good time, but I would defnitely recommend going... :maleficen :hmghost: :maleficen :hmghost:

More in my trip report when we get back to RI... (do I really have to leave?)

Facing the Hall of Presidents on the same said as the attraction- we were on the left. You can stand on the wall in front of the small bldg with the carts- potato and fruit and stuff- facing the Liberty Bell. Good spot because the parade comes “right at you” you can see the front of the floats and the sides when the pass you. AND you can see the headless horseman running right at you. Pretty Cool

We were just around the corner from you. We were sitting across from the popcorn stand by the Liberty Bell. I thought the parade was great!

If you wanted to ride anything, there were no lines, however the lines for pics with the characters was crazy and therefore we did not take any which made me sad. If there was a long candy line, we skipped it and found another. By the end of the night, dd4 didn't want anymore candy as she said her bag was getting too heavy.

Overall we had a good time, but I don't think I would spend the money to go again.

DH and I hung out atop the train station until dusk- it was a great spot to watch everyone coming in- you didnt miss many costumes! No one was really up there.

They had everyome coming into the party enter the park ( to the right- when facing the outside of the park) and everyone leaving- they had going out the left side- I have a pic here of the clock!- it was 7:15 and people were STILL exiting the park!

When DH and I came down from the station- it was just getting dark and we saw more people still exiting! I didnt notice if people w/o wristbands were just watching though.

I think it would have been much better to get them out around 6- not sure why in the world they waited!

Hey Maddhatir,
I was just across the street from you in front of the Liberty Bell to the left by the popcorn wagon. I had my LGMHPC on my backpack and was dressed in a black skirt with a black tshirt white face paint. I'm sorry you didn't have a good time, however, my DS and I had very little waits for the rides we went on. Standby for SM was 5min and the HM was a walk on.

Everyone else,
I didn't see anyone without wrist bands on but the closer it got to 7pm I observed many CMs providing information about the upcoming party and how to exit the park or where to buy tickets.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope to go again next year. :cheer2:

It is not that I didnt have a good time- I am just not a crowd person. I know the wait times were not that bad- it is the crowds walking around that I dont like to manuver. We walked right on to POTC, HM, not a problem.

We did get some candy- not all the lines were crazy- as I said- oone time is enough. Dont think I will do it again though.

the first couple of parties are estimated to be really crowded due to the fact that until a week from now, there is only one party a week- the candy lines always tend to get crowded, but the rides don't have much of any type of lines and the second parade usually is not as crowded because many people are tired and don't want to stay for the entire party.
my little sister and two best friends are going to go to the party on the 5th to see the parade (to see me dancing down mainstreet) and they are trying to decide on either trick or treating or getting on rides (although they are hoping to try and fit in both activites but they are mainly concerned about watching both parades for me)

This is what I have to say about Friday's party. Yes, it was definitely crowded. However, we still had a really good time. My only complaint is that 5 hours just isn't long enough. It really needs to go from 6 until 12. We saw the first parade and had a good view. Then we went up to the castle and saw the Villians show. Then we went back to Fantasyland and there was a ton of people back there. I think that's where the majority of the crowd was. Every ride back there with the exception of It's a Small World had about a 20 minute wait time - no thanks. We rode It's a Small World with DS who loved it. When we went back to the Haunted Mansion there was no wait either, but that might have been about the time of the 2nd parade so we walked right on. There also was no wait in line for the photos with the stage coach parked right ouside the HM. The lines to meet a lot of the characters were long so we skipped them. I did get a photo of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs since they are such a rarity. We never made it to Tomorrowland, Adventureland or Frontierland. There was just way too much to do that night. The Hallowishes fireworks show was AWESOME!!!!! We stood by the carousel in Fantasyland and had a great view. I agree with all those that say they need to put the music on a CD. If we ever do MNSSHP again we'll go in October when it isn't quite so hot or crowded. All in all, we loved it and had a good time and stayed from start to finish!!!

did anyone who had their photo made with the photopass people in front of the haunted mansion buy the photopass cd? If so was the ghost included in your picture on the cd?

We were also there on the 22nd & had a blast. I did not think it was that crowded at ALL!!

We arrived at 5:10, it took FOREVER to catch a bus from the POP, we left our rooms at 3:30. Needless to say we were all annoyed, but I must admit, Disney was right on it. As soon as we stepped off the bus a CM approached us, apoligized for the delay, asked us how many were in our party, & gave us 2 FASTPASSES per person, 16 in total that were good until Sunday!! :cool1: :cool1: BTW, we only needed to use 4 the whole entire trip!!!

So that put a smile back on our faces!! We immediately ran to Space mountain, used 4 fastpasses, & by 5:45 we were eating dinner at CP!!!

After dinner we just worked our way around the park....
1st, Adventureland, we rode the magic carpets, POTC, took a picture w/ Captain hook, & trick or treated!!!

From their we made our way over to Frontierland, rode Splash Mt, BTRRM, & trick or treated.

Next up, we walked towards Fantasyland, but first rode the Haunted Mansion, stopped & took a picture with the Halloween backdrop.

On our way to Fantasyland & Small World, we stopped to take a picture in front of Cinderella's coach, rode Small World, Peter Pan, & Philarmagic.

We took a break to dance in the Chip n Dale Dance Party in fornt of Ariel's Grotto, which was a balst for the kids. We then watched Hallowishes from Fantasyland.

We then made our way to watch the Villan's mix & mingle & the parade. The headless horsemen was fantastic, we got front row seats. It was awesome!!!

After that we went to toontown, went to Minnie's House & took a picture with her in the witch costume, & then made our way over to Mickey's house & took pics with him as the farmer.

We also did major trick or treating in toontown & the walkway over to tomorrowland!!!!

We ended the night with one more Space Mt. run & Buzz.

By now it was 11:45 & the kids were pooped!!! We felt like we accomplished everything we wanted to do, had a blast and made our way back to the POP.

We would definitely do it again!!!

Hope this review helps!!!

we got our pic @ the HM- but I didnt look at it yet!? I forgot I had all the photopass pics!!! I need to go check them all b/c the pics from the party are all 50% off!

does it have to be the cd? or do you mean just the actual pic from the photopass card?? :confused3

I would follow LuvAriel's plan- sounds like they just followed the park right around starting in Adv. Land- actually everything was great for us, we started in Adv. Land- did PoTC- no wait- got right on- got some candy across from the ride. Adv Land was not crowded. Then we went around to Front. Land- and BAM! the 1st parade was starting- it was a wall of people and the parade starts right there. We were going to shoot right across the street and continue on our journey- HOWEVER- we couldnt get across the street! We had to travel down to Liberty Sq along the parade route and ended up just waiting at the Christmas store until the parade was done---

after that- forget it- there were people everywhere and our plan was kind of squashed!

SO! be sure to have a plan and BE where you want to BE when the parade starts b/c it is a pain to cross the street!

Have Fun! :goodvibes

That's good advice, maddhatir. :thumbsup2

I know how crowded it gets when the parade is starting. It is very hard to manouver especially with a stroller. We'll make sure we are away from the parade route. :teeth:

I know we'll have a great time regardless of the crowds. It is our DS's first trip and we are just going to go with the flow. :goodvibes

I think this happens at every party. Even on sold out nights there just aren't enough people in the park for it to be jammed. But people tend to clump - some parts of the park will be jammed while others will be empty. The key to avoid crowds is to be flexible and move away from them.

I was there for this too. Personally I thought it was pretty cool to see the place done up, and it was fun dressing up for Halloween which I haven't done in years. I was Ali G and my wife was The Mad Hatter, if anyone noticed us. ;-)

The fireworks were unviewable pretty much from where we were, so that stunk. The crowds were really heavy, imo. But all in all it was a fun time. We left before park closing and I didn't end up with too much candy. :(

I would have to think about it, but I would probably do it again.

:rotfl: thats what we tried to do-- but you kinda get caught up! :lmao:

its like being stuck in an undertow! :rotfl2:

We had a blast at the party. The only part I thought was crowded was where they were taking pictures in front of Cinderella's carriage. We rode almost every ride available and did not wait in line at all. We viewed the 2nd parade and watched the fireworks from Liberty Square. I thought the fireworks were incredible.

We dined at Liberty Tree and had a great meal. We came from Pop and had no problems getting there. Had pics taken in front of the castle and in front of the haunted mansion. They both turned out great.

Did'nt really go to the dance party or the Villains thing. Juts were having too much fun doing ur own thing.

LOts of great costumes out that night. My fiend and I went as the Mario brothers and had people taking pics with us(which we did) and asking for autographs (which we did not).

Adventureland is not the place to be come parade time b/c you're virtually stuck there. If you just get there and haven't yet covered it, it's ok. But if you've just finished it and it's parade time, you're stuck.
