9/19/09 Western Magic

Hi Tammy,
For my FE's I just put my dis' name for who it was from:). I have read on the boards that some people remain anonymous:confused3. I think it is whatever you would like to do... I did it because some of mine contains---breakables and if something is broken:scared1:, I will have extras with me:rolleyes1...(But that is all I am saying about mine:laughing:)

I'm starting to feel panicked about driving down by myself w/ the kids. :scared1: I'm sure we'll be fine, but I'm a worrier. My mom has never let me drive far by myself. When we moved from PA she flew up & rode w/ the boys & I. When we moved from TN she insisted that the boys ride in the rv w/ her & my dad. They drove half-way & had my dh meet us. I'm guessing she's more panicked than I am. My biggest fear is going through Richmond, VA & hitting morning rush hour. :drive:
I can't wait to get on the ship so I don't have to think much for a week.:cool1:
I keep coming up w/ more stuff I forgot to get for the cruise. I'll probably end up in CVS when we get to Key West.

if you need the map for the first FE group please let me know! I am NOT planning on bringing many extras to the boat :sail:

look for me in the port if you forget yours and hopefully I can help 'ya out - tie-dyed Mickey shirtson my crew!!

We are so excited to be going on the September 19th cruise. My two kids Rebecca age 3yr and Trevor 10 yrs (two weeks for 11years) will be coming and would love to know if there are kids around this age looking to meet and have fun. Hoping they might meet up and know kids for the kids club. Let us know.

***Otherwise, everyone have a great trip and hoping on no storms!!!***

My DS will be 9 (two months from 10) on the cruise and he would love to meet Trevor and have a "friend" in the club. He will also have a friend that used to go to school with him on the cruise and his cousin (both of them are almost 10 as well). Send me a PM if you want the boys to say "hello" before we get the the port then we can look for you there as well.

Monica

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to pass along a that I received a PM from DisneyCruiser83 apologizing that they had forgotten that they signed up for the FE but that they are NO LONGER ON OUR CRUISE so PLEASE REMOVE them and the CABIN NUMBER - 7136 from your FE LIST and MAP!

Thanks so much!

Also, if there are any that still need the Final FE List (still missing ChrisLei Cabin # :confused3) - please let me know. I did start to PM it but realized that many (almost all) are on the Yahoo Group as well so didn't want to duplicate :thumbsup2 I can send it ASAP!

Thanks so much!

Monica

So I did the online checkin today for our pre-cruise stay. We'll be leaving next Monday night after midnight sometime and getting down there first thing in the morning. The only thing I really don't like about that is the lack of food places open.

I am soooo mad right now. :mad:We had a new A/C installed on June 20, and from the moment they were done installing it, we have had nothing but problems with the company. They didn't finish the job the first day, they never filed for permits, still have yet to finish the job. Well, today, the A/C unit is not working, it is now 85 degrees in my house. I have called the company who installed it, and apparently they do not have emergency service. How can an A/C company in Florida not offer emergency service.:sad2::mad: We have called every phone number in the bill, including the owners cell phone, and I have the general managers cell too, and no one answers. Chris finally left messages again for the owner and the office saying they have until 4:00p, to respond or we will call another company and they will get the bill forwarded to them.

I am so mad at myself for not researching the company better before going with them, the A/C cost A LOT of money, and I think we really got screwed in the end. I plan to write to the better business bureau and the local news station to let people know how bad this company is to deal with.

Sorry I just had to vent a little. Now back to your regularly scheduled cruise planning.

lori that is awful...I cannot stand to be hot :headache: my brain shuts down! Seriously! I am so sorry! I feel for you and I would do the same...an A/C is not cheap and the company needs to stand behind their work. sending pixie dust your way....that "you'll have cool air at your house tonight" (that is a tv commercial from NC)

Lori - I'm so sorry!! That is so frustrating! I'm with Paige - cannot STAND the heat! I got my bill and it was $425 for this last month! I tried setting the thermostat on 78 instead of my normal 74, and I couldn't stand that! I can't imagine 85 in my house! I hope you get everything fixed ASAP!!!

Thanks Paige, Jody and Gretchen:grouphug: After many phone call and several hours the owner of the company finally called back with lots of excuses. He could not get a hold of any of his service guys, but he did get a manager to agree to come out. It was 8:00 before he got here and he found we have no free on due to a leak. But because he is a manger he doesn't usually do service calls, he had no free on to add. So we still have no A/C.:sad1: Now they are supposed to be out tomorrow morning to fix the problem. Luckily Dh will be home and he can deal with them. I will take the girls and try to get the rest of my cruise shopping done.

Lori, Just catching up over here. That just stinks! It is Florida for Pete's sake! How hard is it to get some Freon or R-whatever and pour it in to at least hold you until tomorrow ya know? I would be hot and therefore I would be hot if ya know what I mean! And what? These techs are making around $35 to $80 an hour? So they send you a manager who can do nothing? To what make you feel better? UUmmm, I call that, as my kids say, a FAIL. I would be far away tomorrow. . .

Okay Question time, I think both Sinderelly and Mrs JVB maybe are also staying at the Country Inn and Suites across from the Port? Did either of you book the cruise package? We did not on the advice of a fellow DISser who said we would not need to but would be allowed to park just have to pay per person for the shuttle? I just read under Shirleys Helpful hints (up in FAQ section) that is not so???? So I am starting to worry?

I mean it's not the end of the world if we have to park at the port, just not a good start to the week if you know what I mean?

Also, I think MrsJVB you got a good rate thru priceline? Sinderelly I can't remember, I initially had a AAA rate but have continued to check as the time passes and just lowered my rate once again (3rd time) since I booked. So maybe check it out. I am totally going by memory here so please excuse me if I have the wrong fellow cruisers! ach!

Anyone else have any info? I really hate to call and be told one thing by one desk clerk and get there and find it is yet a different thing at check in, I am just sittign on it for now just looking to find any recent experiences?

I love hearing everyone's updates on their packing, FE, etc.!

Melissa - happy packing this weekend, and with your hubby helping! Nice! :yay:

Kim - I'm glad you told us the FE story! I joined in on the second FE, which is much smaller, and I can totally understand how it can get out of hand!!

We are just truckin along......I have some packing done. I still have to organize the clothes, but I feel pretty good about where I am. I ordered some packing cubes yesterday. I had read on the boards about how awesome they are, so we'll see. Hopefully I'll get them before we leave.....:rolleyes1

Ok, gotta go get ready for church.

It's getting close!!!! :dance3: See you real soon!!!!

Yes, the FE thing just seemed to expode almost unbelievablly as I pulled all the "cute little stuff" together. Anyway, it should still be fun.

Packing cubes, I read that thread. . . sounded so so. . . so orderly! No wonder I decided to give those a "PASS" guess I'll stick with my zip lock bags.

I am almost at a lose for how to pack our "formal stuff" without ruining it or at least ruining any ironing efforts. 1 mans suit w/ shirt/tie, 1 mans dress shirt, 2 adult womens dresses, 1 flower girl type dress, one boys tux shirt/tie and cumberbund and trousers, 4 Pairs additional/different shoes. . ???? The one group of stuff we won't need until we go (except DH dark suit which he wears 1-2x a week) and I can't pack it???!!! :headache:

Hey everyone :)
Thought I would make it as easy as possible and post everyones totals for the bracelets. Let me know if you have any questions.

OMG!!!! You must be using the Disboards as stress relief girl! 6 days before your wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????

You Rock!

Thanks for doing that! I have my envelope ready for you!

Do not forget, since you seem to have it so together, we must must must see pictures!! I am soooo excited for you! :yay:

Hey everybody!

I was lucky to get discharged today (early) from the hospital!!!

:yay::yay::yay:

Although my 2000mg of IV VANCO (yes, as in the antibiotic of last resort :faint:) is coursing through me quite nicely--making it so I could eat the face off a 3-day dead rhino ;) there is the slight possibility that the cultures might come back positive. If that happens then the docs will call me to go back in for immediate surgery. :headache: My issues are very disconcerting for them because while they would immidiately think some kind of massive infection, I don't have the full symptoms of infection--plus I'm on a couple of meds that "test" like infection. :sad2:

Cruise is still on! :woohoo:

:banana::banana::banana:

Probably won't need to get a prescription for vanco to take with me but I'll probably ask for a new script for some dilaudid pain killers (to go with my aforementioned morphine), ya know...just in case. I figure if I'm going to get hassled by CBP with my pharma carry-on I might as well go full out! pirate:

Now that I'm back, I'm off to (try and) catch up on the ~100 pages of posts...
