Jonesing - being on steroids for years for gut problems I remember how much more sun sensitive I was. Had two bad cases of sun poisoning I can remember on the Florida panhandle. Take care.

jonesing - so sorry...it really does stink! :goodvibes OMG pregnant walrus...that describes how I feel perfectly! I hope we are both finished w/ our RX before the cruise!

gretchen - thanks, you know me I have to check the boards in between rests :surfweb:

those that are doing the stingray excursion in Grand Caymen...is it Capt. Marvins? If so I friends did it in May and boy were they impressed with it! Sounds like a great excursion. There is a FL news broadcast about the owners so where on the boards :3dglasses

KIRSTIN'S Mommy - tell me your cabin numbers..I may have goofed them on the map! this is just in case you log in and miss my last post ;)

holly - thinking of you! hope you are having no stress.

for everyone else :woohoo:time marches on!

I don't post on here much so here's some info about us. This will be our third DCL cruise. Our last one was in 2006 on the 10 day Southern Caribbean cruise on the Wonder....truly magical! pixiedust: We are from Portland, Oregon and will be flying into MCO 2 nights before the cruise, just in case ;)

I'm in nursing school and am currently on summer break. This will be my last "hurrah" to end the summer as school starts up again the Monday after we get back! My boyfriend Todd works in software development. He's finally starting to get excited about the cruise and is starting to ask question even though he's known about this trip since spring. "Where are we cruising to again?" "What cabin will we be in?" "Are we doing any excursions?" Why do men always wait till the last minute to ask these things? Well, I guess the upside is that I get to plan everything the way I want to ;).

Speaking of cabins we booked a CAT 12 GTY and were blessed with a SIDEWAYS CAT 11!!! I was secretly hoping for a 9, but I have always wanted to try a sideways room too! We had a veranda on our first cruise, and didn't use it much at all. So I booked a porthole for a second cruise and didn't use that much at all either. So this time I thought we should try an inside cabin to save $$$. I think we'll be happy. I just hope we don't get tempted at port to upgrade ;)

Can't wait to meet all of you!

Wan (and Todd) from Oregon

Well DH and I have decided to become part of the Georgia convoy. We were playing with the idea of flying down but between leaving when we want to and having to pack our cooler and cost we nixed the idea. Now our plan is to leave after DH gets off work early Friday morning - as in 1 am - and drive to Orlando. We should get there sometime around 6 or 6:30. We'll eat breakfast and check in at Boardwalk.

I ordered the first of our two annual passes. We've had AP's since 2005 but didn't get them last year due to youngest DD being in the hospital off and on and so sick. So we'll get ours now for the cruise and get theirs around the holidays when we go back down.

Still hoping there are Cat 3s to try to upgrade to at the port.

We sold one of our SSR DVC's. We just weren't using the points like we use to and DH wants to think about some BLT points in the future.

There are some Western magnets in my Photobucket if anyone wants to use them. Some are personalized, some are completely blank and some are 9/19/09 Western.

http://s131.photobucket.com/albums/p281/uahollem/Cruise Magnets/

also wanted to put out there some of our Disney park picks and some of our Wonder cruise with the girls. Hope they're entertaining.

http://picasaweb.google.com/uahollem

Thanks so much for sharing those pics on the Wonder with us! What a handsome family you have! Your girls are just beautiful, take after their Mom! What a lucky man your DH is!

I cracked up when I went into your photobucket account. I'll just say this, no need for you to come by our cabin door for the magnet display! I think we may have downloaded the exact same ones and copied most of the rest! :rotfl2:Great minds think alike??!! Mine are just printed out fairly small though and not on magnetic paper so yours will look awesome! But I am happy enough that I have some to hang up. I have no idea how to edit those things at all, even when I got the blanks:sad2:

Again, thanks for sharing!

Paige so sorry you are sick, hope you get to feeling better soon!

Wow I cannot believe how much posting is going on, we must be really excited!

thanks ya'll. Last year was the girls first Disney cruise. Oldest DD has been on Carnival and RCC with other families but youngest DD was on her first cruise. The year before was our first cruise when we went on the 2007 DVC Member cruise. We hope to take the girls again next year.

Hey all :)

We got some stuff form the TA in the mail, we got our WDW travel docs and paperwork :goodvibes very excited, now we are just waiting on the cruise stuff!! it is really starting to hit me, we are going to be on that boat in only a few short weeks!!!!

Paige and mamajojo: i hope you both feel better soon

I am going to go and try and catch up on the yahoo boards now :)

Holly:bride:

For anyone who missed it the first go-round, here is the link to my uber geeky, over planned pre trip report :)

I just had to comment, I have never been a an of flip flops, love the way the look and the convenience but apparently i have weird feet because m toes always hurt when i wear them :confused3
so anyways, one day my mom said she bought me a pair of flip flops. i reminded her of my issues and said try them and see. she gave them to me, i slipped them on and wore them around for awhile...NO PAIN! they were switch flops :) I am now the proud owner of 2 pairs and I would never take them off if I didn't have too! I highly recommend them. they retail for $30 here and the replaceable bands are $12.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Holly:bride:

Good to hear they are comfortable and worth the extra money. :thumbsup2

you doing the later one too (which come to think of it, I don't know the exact time of....)?

That would be great!! (Jasmine is a young or old 9 depending.....her stepsister is an old 10....so Jasmine thinks she is too "old" for dolls, etc., but she still likes 'em....)
Cassidy is my oldest, so she is still into dolls and stuff like that. We have to meet them at the terminal between 11:15 and 11:30 local time.

Jonesing-I hope you feel better soon and the swelling goes down from the prednisone. Thanks for sharing the news of the cruise docs.:thumbsup2 Hey, what's wrong with us only children? If that dancin monkey tater was for me? I'm Kathy not Kim.

Grumpfav/Holly-TY for offering to hang out w/ DH. I'm sure he will feel better knowing some from our thread will be along. We are also doing the shipwreck/reef snorkel in Grand Cayman. We can hang out with your Dh if he'd like and return the favor.

Dennis-That is the same dolphin excursion I am on. Please let me know how your sis-in-law likes it.

Paige-I hope feel better soon.:flower3: I have a positive ANA too.

Hannahquad-My DH would love to have a buddy if your DH doesn't mind. Loch Ness monsters? The pic of the barracuda is enough to scare me! :scared1:

I have read on the boards that alot of people that were GTY 12 were upgraded to cat 9. It seems on our cruise the upgrades for 12s were 11s and 10s. Hmmm anyone else think this is strange? :confused3

It's getting closer!

Paige so sorry you are sick, hope you get to feeling better soon!

thanks so much...checking in one last time before I go to bed. Katie was so excited when she saw your dd donkey! Your kids are cuties...and they are the same age as mine!

Thanks so much Kathy! Do you have any symptoms from your pos. ANA? They have gone between lupus and rhuemitoid athritis regarding my mom for years...one reason I am scared but God is good, all the time!

Me too...that barracuda made me re-think my swimming plans at CC...I am chicken like that! My ds would freak -shhh he is a chicken like that too...not gonna tell him :rolleyes1but dh will stay close by kiddos for sure :crowded:!

Yes! about the upgrades...maybe more are to come :wizard: or they sold some cabins? :confused3

Dennis - not to be a pain but I would love to see the navigators from your SILs cruise if she sends them along :)

Good evening all! :tink:sweet dreams!

warning, gross old lady story ahead.....

so, been fighting clogged sinuses for weeks....taking decongestants and as this board heated up with discussions, start to worry about flying and ears....so, of course, the ears close up completely, alternating between left/right deafness....taking decongestants, putting ear drops in....until last thursday when the left ear stops working completely.....and nothing is helping (and I get grouchier at work as all of them mumble....(says the deaf woman).

today, long day, ear starts hurting...(probably because I keep rubbing it and worrying about airplanes, ears, air pressure, etc....) head hurts....staff grumbles that they are going to call my mother if I don't go to the doctor. (yeah, like that will work)...off to the urgent care clinic I go.

Ear wax. I am officially old. EAR WAX....one hour of irrigation of ears...

it is official.

I am old.

please someone make sure I am not in bed at 8 p.m. each night of the cruise so I can make believe I am NOT old.

*sigh*

:sad2::sad2::sad2:

Awwww, Karen.....at least it was just ear wax! There's a lot of other getting old stuff I'd rather not have!! Don't worry - we won't let you get off to bed at 8! So ear wax causes the sinus issues? I'm always dealing with allergy and sinus stuff.....right now, I'm having sinus headaches, stuffiness, etc.

Anyway, I'm glad you got it taken care of! :thumbsup2

Dennis-That is the same dolphin excursion I am on. Please let me know how your sis-in-law likes it.
Kathy, My niece Alba (19) sent me a text message and said that they all enjoyed the Dolphin Encounter so much:thumbsup2. She also said that we shouldn't miss the Cinderella at the Sea Show, she found it even better than the 'Dreams' Show which was our favorite so far.

Dennis - not to be a pain but I would love to see the navigators from your SILs cruise if she sends them along :)
Paige, she will be bringing all the Navigators, however, they arrive just one day before we leave, so I don't think I will have time to post them, sorry about it :)

Sorry folks if my story/photo of the Barracuda has somehow scared you, that was not my intention at all, actually if I thought it was a dangerous event, I would not be planning to go snorkeling there with my wife and my 7 year old. I did some research about Barracudas when I got back home and found out that they are not usually hostile, but they can sometimes attack if they see brilliant things, so it is always a good idea to leave the 'bling-bling' at your cabin. :)

Thanks for the heads up on the bling!! :flower3:

thanks so much...checking in one last time before I go to bed. Katie was so excited when she saw your dd donkey! Your kids are cuties...and they are the same age as mine!

My kids still have no idea about the cruise. I know they will enjoy meeting your kids.

My daughter will be shy at first, but then will warm up. We call her our Sunshine, because she is happy 99% of the time.

My son is pretty friendly, he loves being around other kids. My son loves science, animals, especially outer space, and he is crazy about Stitch.

I know they will love the Oceanner Club.

I look forward to meeting you our lives sound a little similar. My DH will be 40 this year too, we have been married for 12 years also, and DS and DD are the same age as your kids.

Looking forward to meeting everyone. Everyone take care of yourselves and get healthy so we can all have a lot of fun!

Good Morning fellow excited cruisers!

Paige-I have RA symptoms from my positive ANA. I control alot of the pain with exercise. Still a few bad days but mostly good. :goodvibes

Dennis-That's great news about the dolphin excursion. I'm even more excited now. I have the encounter booked but I am wondering if I should do the swim. I noticed you get a little less time with the dolphins with the swim?
Cinderella? <perk> Sea Show? Do tell. Thanks for the info on the barracuda/bling. I'm glad I put my silver lame swimsuit in our yard sale. :rotfl:

Karen-Hope you are feeling better now and I'm glad to here it wasn't serious. Having everyone well for the cruise is very important!

We got everything ready for our yard sale last night and went to bed exhausted. I'll be glad to get that out of the way so I can start packing. More money for boat drinks! :woohoo:

we are doing Nochi something or other in Cozumel....a beach resort, free food/drinks, only 100 people a day...got to take a taxi to get there.

Then, Grand Cayman, we are doing Sting Ray Sailing, husb/wife operation. Smaller group (they say)...later in the a.m. and back at 3:30 to port...(they say)....I expressed my concern and wife assured me that they have never had passengers miss the Disney boat.....

We are also doing Nachi Cocum (sp???) - most of our group of 15 is going. Almost every review we read on it was glowing....looking forward to the food and drinks and, of course, the beach! Should be a good day as long as the weather cooperates. :cool2:

We are undecided for Grand Cayman...anyone have any insight on any of the Seven Mile beach areas/resorts? There doesn't seem to be one that is "equivalent" to the Cozumel one. :confused3

Laurie

and I miss 9 zillion posts! You guys are a talkative bunch :rotfl:

Not much to add, except I love my Switch Flops! I know I only have a few minutes of summer left here in New England, but I just had to get them for the cruise. I have the black flats and the Black kitten heels and with the 4 pair of straps I just ordered, I have something to match all my outfits. I only plan on bringing these 2 pair of switchflops, 1 pair sneakers and 1 pair water shoes and that's it! :thumbsup2

More room for souvenirs :cloud9:
