9/19/09 Western Magic

I can't do flip flops! My family makes fun of me for it too! But, I walk on my toes (have done my whole walking life) and when trying to wear flip flops my pinky toe hangs over the edge of the shoe... it kinda looks like it's hanging on for dear life! So, I avoid flip flops at all costs! But, I live in any kind of sandal with a slight heel (then people can't tell I walk on my toes) and a strap over the top! Gotta love it! ;)

Still no cruise docs, but not concerned about that. As long as I can get on the ship!!!
 Cruise docs are on the way!

How do I know? Got a call from an odd number I'd never seen before. No name displayed...hmmm 407 area code, why does that sound familiar? It was DCL Documentation Dept! We have a box # on our profile and they were calling to get a good street address for UPS. Anyway, while talking to the CM I found out they are now in the process of shipping documents for our saling date! <=== Just for Kim ;)

So, depending on where you are in the US and whether you booked direct of through a TA, expect UPS to deliver your packets within a week (you Canucks and other fer'ners might get yours via DHL).

Seeing a gator might actually make us stop. I am sure that the kids would want to stop and see it, talk to it, take pictures of it, play with it, pick it up, pet it, fight over it....... Yes, hope we don't see any on the way down. We did look on the way down last time but did not find any :confused3
We saw one or two driving TPA to MCO our last time in FL. Our kids would be the same way...DD would want to pet it and DS would want to take it away because she's showing interest in it...:headache:

DH just told me I can't prepack in his suitcase!!:confused3 He said he wasn't going to keep my stuff for 2 weeks while he's in Jax. I guess I'll have to try to squeeze my stuff in w/ the kids so we don't have too many suitcases.
He sounds like me...is in an only child? How about this...you pack the items you were planning to take in his bag, then take them out and put them in brown grocery bags. Label the bag "Temp Suitcase" and stick them in the closet...They won't grow legs and walk away unless you have unsealed food items in there. When he gets back, move the items into his suitcase and you're done!

Flip flops are a favorite in our house. My husband would live in them (and shorts) if he was allowed to. I can't tell you how many times we were going to go out and I had to send him back to change. The only time he doesn't wear them (and shorts) is for work or church. I don't really like the between the toes thing on some, but others work great. I must have between-the-toes-sensitivity or some such condition.
DW has those Reef flip flops with the bottle opener built into the sole of the shoe...You would have thought she was trying to smuggle a Crocodile Dundee "Now THAT'S a knife!" on board! :sad2:

DW's edict is that I'm not allowed to wear long pants during the day...:headache: She thinks she gets to have her way all the time, she's so cute. Stinkin' only children.:laughing:

My Dh and I will be right there with you!
And me with an umbrella drink!

Has anyone booked the Tulum Ruins excursion in Cozumel? I think DH would like a "buddy" as he is going alone to look at the dusty old rocks. I am doing the dolphin encounter by myself. Anyone else? I would also love to find a drugstore if not too far from the port.
:

Hey Sinderelly! My DH and I have booked Tulum as well. We would be happy to annoy (I mean hang out with) your DH.

At Grand Cayman, my DH is going on the Shipwreck/Reef Snorkel while I get a hot stone massage :woohoo:. If anyone wants to buddy up with him, that would be great. Just look for the guy with the rubber chicken. Its a very long story, but we have possession of a rubber chicken this year thanks to my husband's work's Christmas white elephant gift exchange. We are taking her anywhere we go this year. On our last trip on the Wonder, people were calling me Crazy Chicken Lady thanks to Luke, one of the cruise staff.

Kathy,
Monica (DW) Madison and I are doing Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel at 9:45 - 2:55, is that the one you have booked? My wife's sister is doing that right now! so I will get her review soon.

Hi all,
Since I am addicted to making magnets now that I figured out how to personalize them:rolleyes1.... Does anyone have a picture of our 'logo' like the one on the yahoo.. I tried to copy and paste the one that is on there and is comes out really small.
Also, DH works with the phone company and he scored us some cable ties for the FE's to be tied down if anyone wants one, I will have them at the port.:goodvibes

Try this... click into it, it should take you to the bigger one in my photobucket!

Hmmmmm, very interesting.....your disboard name should have been Crazychickenlady, maybe?? So look for the guy with the rubber chicken......:lmao: I'd love to hear that entire story!

We didn't book through Disney, but we are doing the dolphin encounter in Chankanaab. Ours isn't until the afternoon, though at 3:30.....I'm really hoping we make it back to the ship in time......no, really......:scared1:

Okay, headed over to the yahoo group but had to stop in and catch up.

I just have to say, Jonesing, you are a riot! Your comments make me laugh out loud!!

Switch Flops, we have them around here. They look awesome but in light of the fact I have a huge "everything must match perfectly" issue (she says while clearing her throat) it is in the best interest of our budget that I never buy a pair of these. The $30-$40 base sandles is just the start of the obsession. . . oh for the love of those straps. Kinda like Crocs and jibbits on steroids, been down that road and am still trying to recover from it!

For the record? Love me some flip flops, and the DD14 and I now wear the same size. . no shoe is safe!

Gators, barracudas, that's why we visit FL and the Carribbean right:confused3 ADVENTURE folks! It abounds!

I'll be back. . . .

we are doing Nochi something or other in Cozumel....a beach resort, free food/drinks, only 100 people a day...got to take a taxi to get there.

Then, Grand Cayman, we are doing Sting Ray Sailing, husb/wife operation. Smaller group (they say)...later in the a.m. and back at 3:30 to port...(they say)....I expressed my concern and wife assured me that they have never had passengers miss the Disney boat.....

Jonesing, I can't wait until he gets back because he's going to be gone form the 8th-18th. He had suggested coming home, but I told him I wouldn't be there.:drive:
Dennis, I wouldn't have taken a picture if I'd been in the water. I'm a major chicken when it comes to mean water creatures.
I just spent 2 1/2 hrs shopping w/ ds2. What pray tell did we come away with? Wait for it.... wait for it.... a TIE:eek::eek: He still needs shoes, socks & pants. I never thought anyone could spend more time shopping than myself, but he has proven me wrong. He's one majorly picky preteen. Oh how I miss the days when they would happily wear anything I picked out for them.

home from the doctor and in the bed ...I had to have a prednisone injection and I feel yucky but the inflamation in my face and redness is a little better!
lots of test done today! hopefully an allergic reaction to medication and not lupus or a positive ANA.

boy this thread has been busy today...excited cruisers :dance3:
Cruise Docs yay......
all the talk about flip flops...I ordered dh and I Birki's (Cuba) from germany and they aren't here yet....but birki's has a new waterproof bottom flop. DH and I live in flops (he does not like the ones that go between the toe either) our new ones are like this in different pattern!

here is hoping they show up before our cruise!!!:upsidedow

Well DH and I have decided to become part of the Georgia convoy. We were playing with the idea of flying down but between leaving when we want to and having to pack our cooler and cost we nixed the idea. Now our plan is to leave after DH gets off work early Friday morning - as in 1 am - and drive to Orlando. We should get there sometime around 6 or 6:30. We'll eat breakfast and check in at Boardwalk.

I ordered the first of our two annual passes. We've had AP's since 2005 but didn't get them last year due to youngest DD being in the hospital off and on and so sick. So we'll get ours now for the cruise and get theirs around the holidays when we go back down.

Still hoping there are Cat 3s to try to upgrade to at the port.

We sold one of our SSR DVC's. We just weren't using the points like we use to and DH wants to think about some BLT points in the future.

There are some Western magnets in my Photobucket if anyone wants to use them. Some are personalized, some are completely blank and some are 9/19/09 Western.

also wanted to put out there some of our Disney park picks and some of our Wonder cruise with the girls. Hope they're entertaining.

WOW-I would swim away from Minnie too if she was in the bottom of the ocean!! :lmao: Just kidding!
Okay, Barracuda at Castaway Cay:scared1:-Hmmm, and that my friends is why I have a fear of swimmng in the ocean:eek:.. Been stung by a jelly fish before and that didn't feel great.:sad2: This land girl will be either in a swimming pool or on a beach-watching..

That is so me too, my sister and my DS will be snorkling ect. in castaway cay and this girl will be in the shade with a good book.

We are doing stingray sailing too. My older dd will be days short of 9 too. Maybe she and your gdd can chat. She is actually a bit freaked out by the idea of the huge stingrays.

you doing the later one too (which come to think of it, I don't know the exact time of....)?

That would be great!! (Jasmine is a young or old 9 depending.....her stepsister is an old 10....so Jasmine thinks she is too "old" for dolls, etc., but she still likes 'em....)

Sinderelly, my husband is doing the Tulum Ruins too. I think it is at 12:?? but not sure. I am not a rock person, so he will be traveling alone on that one. He is a chatty one, so I am sure he would love to be your husbands 'buddy'. I swear that man will talk to anything that breathes air. AND, if they don't talk to him (or acknowledgehim talking), he has a tendency to just keep talking to try and get it out of the person.. Do not get stuck in an elevator with him folks!!

And someone that mentioned an umbrella drinks on the beach while watching others swim with the loch ness monsters-I will get the first round!!:woohoo:

Just told DM to get her suitcase out... I haven't physically started packing, but I did go through and hide clothes from DD and DH that I don't want them to wear for the next couple weeks..:upsidedow

 My doc reduced my daily prednisone intake by 1/3 but still, the edemas in my ankles and feet yesterday were pretty bad. Don't get me started on my face :sad2:...I felt like a pregnant walrus :crazy2:
