I have a quick question in reference to upgrades...What has anyones experience been with these? Do they generally start at the cat.12's and go from there or is there a method to the madness? The only reason that I ask is because we are a GTY cat.12 and I was thinking about upgrading but its like $1000 extra for a cat.8 room. Was just wondering if when they call and try to sell you an upgrade if it is at a dicounted price or the same price as what is online?

Welcome to all newcomers. We are early dining. I have my FE gifts done & my FE almost finished. Loading up on Bonine. I really have to get it in gear. They may be sending DH to Jax Sept. 8th -18th. We will be going down w/ him if they do. I'll consider it an extra vacation.

Hi fellow cruisers. Can it really be only a month away.
I have all my FE gifts in place and now just down to organizing and getting them packaged up with labels.

Sorry to hear not getting cabin assignments yet; its hard to wait. We were lucky enough to get a SPH cabin so trying that this trip. Never been forward so I hope I will like it. I know deck 5 is quiet and that was the big draw for us.

We are staying the week before the cruise at CBR. Sorry to say I don't have a pirate room. Going to halloween party on Tuesday night. My DH and I are trying a whole new tactic this trip; we are going slow and not gonna run ourselves ragged the week before. NOT going to the park each and every day will be hard but I know we need the down time. We just don't have humidity out here in California so hitting Orlando sends my body into a tizzy.

We have cruised in the past in late Oct and early Nov. so I am hoping the weather on the ship will be ideal. Seemed I was always in a sweatshirt. Go figure. Also this time, we are going to stay on CC for the day.

I am half way considering not bringing formal wear this trip. It definitely will take the stress off of me. We have dressed up the past two trips. Since we are traveling alone, we figure we'll change it up a bit. Just bring something appropriate for Palos--thats a treat in itself. And we have simple pirate hats this time.

Thanks to all those who have been involving in setting up our meets, bracelets, FE list, etc. LOOKING forward to meeting a great group of cruisers.

Hey everyone sorry I haven't posted in awhile, I have been a bit of a lurker...we are one month away from the wedding as of today and I am a bit overwhelmed!! Plus at work, we just hired a new person and I have to teach her everything I know in 4 weeks so that she can cover me when I am on the honeymoon, yikes!
I know someone asked about seating: we are on late seating, we normally eat late and we didn't want to have to worry about coming back from excursions early.
We do have a bit of an announcement to make...Steven and I joined DVC! We couldn't pass it up, it was like the stars aligned, lol. A friend of ours who is a member hooked us up with the guy she went through and when we told him we wanted to buy into BLT he said that they have a promotion right now, $5 off each point purchased, plus, because we were referred, we get a free 3 night cruise next year! We think we will be gifting it to friends who are getting married, but either way it is a great deal. We are so excited, a bit nervous though...we were going to wait until Steve had a job so we had two incomes to rely on, but the deal was too good to pass up so we did it!

Congrats Holly - Welcome Home

We've owned since 05' and have 2 at SSR and one at AKV. We are in the process of selling one of the SSR's but just because the girls don't go as much and the other two will be enough for us.

We'll be staying on points the night before our cruise and the night after.

That was very smart of you! Now you can have him listen to all the DVC Hubbys talk about how great it is and maybe he'll see the light! My Dh loves to talk about how we should have done it a long time ago instead of waiting! We have been members since 2003 and love every minute of it!

How exciting, I bet you can't wait, ours is 5 weeks tomorrow!!! but only 4 weeks on Friday till we fly out to Florida. There are a few other honeymooners on board too.

I have always wondered how DVC worked. Is it like a timeshare?

I know all that wedding/honeymoon planning causes stress but it's a fun type of stress.

Congrats Holly. I had always wondered how the DVC works as well.

I am sure you are stressed with the wedding but make sure that you take the time to enjoy it. The day seems to fly by and before you know it, your wedding day is over. At least you have a great honey moon to look forward too. We had our honeymoon at Disney. It was my husband's first trip there. We actually came home with a wonderful souvenir..... our first child together... From the moment she was born, we had to keep her moving or she would cry and as she got older she was fearless with rides. We took her to Canada's Wonderland when she had just turned two and she went on everything that she could. That same year we took her to Marineland and they have the skyscraper( think Tower of Terror but open and way higher) there. She was VERY upset that she couldn't go on it. We told her that she was too little and she told us that we should go back to the car and get her car seat so that she could go on ...... I still laugh every time that I think about that. We always joke that she is like that because of her conception...she got shook together on the rides We went back on our 7th anniversary and while we were in the castle (waiting for it to open at 8AM for my DD appointment at BBB) my DH surprised me with a diamond ring. He said that it had a diamond for each year of our marriage. It was very sweet and now every time I look at it I think of him..........and Disney As you can tell Disney holds great memories for us and I am hoping we will make some great new memories on the boat. I am sure you and everyone celebrating their honeymoon will make great memories as well.

To everyone else that is getting married, I hope your day is Magical!

Karen glad school is done for a while

I finished buying everything...I think. Last night ( after shopping, yet again) My DH says " only $3500 for the cruise......then $7000 for everything you need to GO ON the cruise Yes, unfortunately for him, I am a shopaholic

I started packing yesterday. We had boxes and bags full of stuff and my son asked what they were for. My husband told him that they were full of stuff for his work. I thought if I get the stuff packed in the suitcases and then put them back where we keep them it will ease the suspicion. I bought all of the things that they will find on their treasure hunt (except the helium balloons...for obvious reasons) and now I just have to come up with the clues.

I also finished planning and purchased all of our stuff for the Disney part of our trip. As well as Disney, we are going to Universal, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Cirque Du Soleil. We have been to many Cirque shows ( our kids have only been to one). We went to La Nouba on our Honeymoon and loved it. We thought that it would be neat to bring the kids there now. That day, we have lunch reservations at T-Rex, then shop rotfl: yes more shopping) at Downtown Disney, then early dinner at Planet Hollywood, then Cirque. I am really looking forward to it.

I will probably not be here for roll call...again I feel so sad that it is our last one and I will miss it. I am going in for my second (and hopefully last) surgery tomorrow. I am going to try and get on here for roll call but if I don't, I am here in spirit anyway.

I am wondering if anyone can tell me the amount of kids and the breakdown of boys / girls that we have. I have started to make another gift for the kids and now can't remember the number of kids and I want to get everything I need together before tomorrow. I want to work on the while I recover. It will be much nicer doing that, then just lying in bed.

I am really looking forward to meeting everyone. It seems like such a nice group of people. It will be so wonderful getting on the boat already having friends!
