OMG!!! I miss flying so much!!! I get to take so much more when we fly! The DH will put nothing on top of the van gggrrr..

But $400 vs. $1400 is a big chunk of change. . .

and with that, I bid you goodnight. sweet dreams of that lovely vacation you all have coming up!

DH has got all the 24 "known" cabins marked/plotted on the deck plans to make passing out FE gifts easier. Please send me a "pm" if your cabin number changes or when you receive an assigned number for those who are GTY. I will update it and bring copies with me (one last thing for you to pack!):3dglasses

Thanks so much! :cool1:

5) for those of you mailing a box ahead...when do you plan to put it in the mail??
I plan to FedEx our box to the port to arrive before 8am Thursday just on the odd chance they have to delay shipment by a day.

:scared1: That was us for the last cruise! 4 adults, and DS was 4-5 months at the time...filled the back of the rental Ford Expedition AND still had to load the stroller up on the roof! You know, y'all could get one of those roof bags from WM and store A LOT of gear in it! We have one and it's great...extra thick vinyl-coated fabric, totally waterproof and stays securely in place (especially if you have cross beams on your roof rack). We've traveled across several states with it with nary a problem.

Yeah, two months to go, I get to roll call later that almost everyone because I had to work to day to pay for this cruise lol. Hope everyone has a smooth transition back to school. My DS goes back the end of August then I have to submit a plan as to why this cruise will be educational so that they will "let" me take him out of school. any ideas. :lmao:

See, that's where I have a problem with schools...though since DS will be starting preschool, it's easier for us: "He won't be here XYZ week." and they can deal with it. Now were he to go to the local public school, I'd probably have a different tactic: "He won't be here the week of XYZ. Deal with it." I see no reason why I need to 'beg' the school for permission...shoot, isn't that one of the many reasons why homeschooling has grown like a wildfire?

Speaking of DS, I'm sitting here buying his accessories for his tux (nah, I don't have any work to do :rolleyes1) and I realized that he'd going to need a whole new set of gear come the next cruise since he'll outgrow this stuff in 6 months! :headache:

I should eBay his size 6mos baby tux LOL

and for my next question......drum roll please....

what are you focused on doing to prepare for the cruise???

I am either late for this roll call or very early for the next one. I have been busy entertaining a houseguest plus working and could not sneak on the computer. DH has dug out some 70's clothes that are perfect for Pirate night which means he must be agreeing to dress up. I keep thinking Halloween costumes will be out soon so I can find something in stores.
I am so happy to see the new cruisers showing up here.

and for my next question......drum roll please....

what are you focused on doing to prepare for the cruise???

Getting on Jenny Craig and going to the Gym 6 days a week
Plus looking at these forums about 20 times a day :lmao:

I'm not gonna start gathering and packing until 8/19, otherwise I think my DH will think I'm bonkers (I am, I'm just trying not to show it so much)

I have all I can do to prepare for DH's return from deployment!!!

YAY...I thought it was Yonkrs Girl that posted her dh was away but it was you! I know you are so excited and cannot wait! Cannot wait until he is home safely!!

curlyblueyes- I have been wondering where you have been...busy I am sure...but I wanted to say I am a full fledged PJ. I have tried it all...jessicurl, Deva Curl, KCCC, KCKT, CJ (too many to mention) and the new GF riple Nutrition! Still working on a method though....plopping works if I only do it a short whilr but pineappling does not work for me! and there is my cg update.... for all others this is all curly girl jargon so if you do not get it don't worry!:thumbsup2

I am loving coming here everyday (yeah, I said it, everyday sometimes multiple times a day!) and reading everyones comments and seeing the pictures. I feel like I am getting to know you guys already and now feel like not everyone that cruises is ubber wealthy, sitting around eating bonbons and waiting for the infamous "james darling" to load the luggage after he picks it up from the cleaners, etc. . .anyone else ever have that perception of people who could afford to cruise? Silly I know, but this being our first cruise I've only ever had to defend WDW trips evey year or 2/3x a year :rotfl: before this as a good use of our vacation time and money! You should hear/see the reactions when I get brave enough to tell others we are cruising (saying quietly on the end ~ with Disney~ that has it own reputation!)

I am soooo glad we are all such normal people, well aside from our Disboard obsession that is:laughing:

And now for a funny story about life with a big family who loves to travel. . .

About that car top carrier for our over stuffed van? I dream of such space. The DH has done it 2x now and each time he says it was under great pressure and he will never do it again. . .

We borrowed a friends soft sided carrier once and drove through rain/sleet/snow/ice with it only to arrive with it frozen solid to our roof top, not a pretty situation. BUT, in case anyone is wondering, every thing inside was completely dry!

Next time we were drving 1000 plus miles to drop off college age son to campus for first time with tons of stuff and leaving him with the vehicle (we flew home) BUT we had a newborn premmie with us on heart moniters and all her equipment as well. . . we were stuffed into that van. The carrier was our own that time, I had purchased 2 different types, both soft sided (FYI,they all have very different dimensions and shapes!). We needed to overnight near Chicago suburb and my DH was a wreck all night that even though we had locks on the thing, someone would steal the stuff. And we missed out on going to the local mall because he was sure the carrier would not fit through the parking garage. . .uumm, he was right:rolleyes1

We then needed to get the thing up and down and secured on/off a high roof which was something less then easy to put it mildly.

Thus the never again comment. Best part of the story is the carrier we bought and used, folded nicely to be brought home in luggage on the plane and when we got home? I was able to return it to the store as it had developed a large tear in one side! so at least I didn't pay anything for the privledge of using it! :rotfl:

Moral of that story? If you are overnighting at Country Inn and Suites at the Port the night before our cruise? You may want to be in the parking lot when we arrive for some comic relief if you've had a rough trip down the road. . .

Kileybeth-I really enjoy reading your posts. We will be staying @ CIS the night before the cruise and will look for you. I have really big sense of humor and enjoy others that also love a good laugh. :rotfl:

I need to get the "to do" list out and get busy. It helps with my OBCDTP!

Kileybeth, okay that whole visual with the car carrier was too funny! I really wish I was staying at the C I&S to see it.
Sinderelly, please take some pictures of it!:goodvibes

Yep, when I tend to mention we are going on a cruise, people look at me like-"whoo-did you win the lottery? Have a death in the family?" I even had one person tell me-"I know how much your husband makes, how are you going on a cruise?" Umm, none of your business, and wise planning-oh, and credit card:laughing: Now I pick and choose who I say it too. Unless of course, DD and I are out shopping and I happen to mention in a loud voice, oh, we need this and that for the cruise while we are in the mall. And to have people look at you envious:rolleyes1.:rotfl2:

Off to make my own list to help my OCDPTP!!:surfweb:

I'm with you on the "looks" when I mention going on another cruise. And then get even weirder looks when I tell them I'm going solo, which is WAY more expensive than if I had extra people! They seem to tune me out when I try to tell them that I've had it booked and been paying it off for over a year... it's amazing what you can do with $50 here or $100 there! Can't wait to be there... it's coming fast now! Guess I should finish up my FE gifts and actually sit down and make my FE!

While I don't have any new pics of myself, here (for your viewing pleasure) is the beautiful canyon near my home that I visited yesterday... ;)

Here are some pictures of my girls, and me and my husband, and one
of my husband decked out in mickey stuff......cool dude

I can't figure out how to just post the pictures in here, instead of a link??:confused3

I'm using Picasa, and tried to copy and paste the actual picture, but it
didn't work.....
