Hi everyone! I have been absent but wanted to extend my best wishes to Sinderelly on her recent marriage and pixie dust to kileybeth that trip plans work out.
We just bought our air from Southwest; prices finally went down a little. We have been waiting until 90 days out but I am content to just take a credit if they continue to drop. I was hoping to arrive at MCO before 1030 since it sounds like people board early. I am trying not to stress, though, and accept that we have a whole week to enjoy the Magic .
The need for such a variety of clothing, from causual to semiformal, has me puzzled how to keep luggage to a minimum. At least Soutwest allows two checked and a carryon but I hate struggling with alot of pieces through the airport.
I will have to get serious about planning excursions because I have just been gathering information and not acting on any of it.
Will I know for certain our dining rotation 75 days out so I can try to book Palo or does everyone just guess from past experience?

I am willing to front the cost of the bracelets provided we don't have a huge amount of leftover bracelets/money at the end. Does anyone know the exact number of people (I assume we wouldn't want just one per cabin but one per cruiser instead) on our list? What would we want it to say? Color?

Unfortunately, you just have to guess for your Palo reservations since you do not receive your official Dining Rotation until you check in at the Port.

I keep things to a minimum by utilizing stuff in a variety of ways. for instance, all my bottoms are basics.. a black, khaki and grey knit skirt( I don't do shorts) and I have 5 tops or so that can be used with all three skirts. the lone dress I am bringing with me can be worn 7 different ways, all I need to do is change up the jewelry or add an accessory like a scarf..



don't need to pack toiletries those are provided. One pair of comfy shoes one pair of spa/pool shoes and one pair of dress shoes

Laundry services on board ..DIY and the dry cleaning will be worth the price to pack less.

I used the Passporter book to help me figure out what days were what as well as the itinerary...hope this helps:

sat 9/19 port canaveral: causal attire
sun 9/20 key west: casual attire (palo brunch available)
mon 9/21 at sea: formal attire (palo brunch/high tea available)
tues 9/22 grand cayman: master chef dinner casual attire
wed 9/23 cozumel: pirates in the caribbean pirate attire
thurs 9/24 at sea: captains gala semi-formal attire (palo brunch/high tea available)
fri 9/25 castaway cay: til we meet again casual attire
sat 9/26 port canaveral HOME

Thanks for the quick responses! I probably will try to schedule Palo for Sunday night but may have to take what is left. I am trying to remember my experience with WDW trips that Disney makes sure you have to return to do everything. LOL
Do swimsuits dry well in the cabins? I am wondering how many we will need to take since it sounds like we may wear them daily.
Now if I could pare down the toiletries that would be a major accomplishment. Hair products alone add up( shampoo, conditioner, mousse, gel, hair spray) just to have that wind blown look. My hair swells in the humidity so I need clips,etc to hold it down.

I am getting some great tips here!

If you do not HAVE to have the hair products you use, DCL provides shampoo, conditioner and an awesome Body Butter lotion in the cabins. We LOVE the hair products so we cross that off our packing list

Ok, so I looked into it. I looked at about 10 websites and this one: http://24hourwristbands.com seems to be the cheapest at .99 per bracelet if we order 100 (for 50-99 its $1.29) I figured we could use lime green for the color and as for what to write I played around with it and DIS 9/19/09 - 9/26/09 fits. So does Magic 9/19/09 - 9/26/09. It also has the option for a back message but that is an extra .25 per bracelet! Shipping and printing are free since we don't need it earlier than a week. What do you guys think/ want to do? This website also can do the bracelets in the Disney font

I am game for the bracelets as well, DH said it can't be any girly colors though I told him he would be easily recognized! I have seen some people have black, blue, red and the dis green as well.

I can host the list so that anyone wanting it could just go to the site and get it. It would be secure, not something a casual web user would just stumble upon.

The DH, who has worked for the same employer for 25 years, yes, our entire married life, is taking a new job. aahhh! Talk about life being a bit uncontrolable at the moment, oiy!

Also, is anyone mailing their FE gifts ahead of time? I'm pretty sure I will need to do this with limited space in our vehicle. Makes me nervous though! I have even thought "worst case scenario" I spend my time in Key West replacing no show FE gifts!

Six months after marrying DW (who was born and raised in DE but went to college in PA) I had to tell her we were moving as I got a transfer to New Mexico! We've moved 3 times in the last 6-7 years...

I know it's a challenge for you but you'll handle it well. I'm assuming he didn't toss away his 25-year investment on a whim.

Not sure how big our items are going to be. But if they'll fit in spite of these shipping box size restrictions then I'll ship our stuff out via FedEx. Maybe I'll cover the box in reflective tape so that even a blind forklift driver couldn't miss seeing it.

Glad to know others are up for it as well No worries, I can pay for them in advance and should have plenty of room in the suitcase to get them down! (Bringing extras back may be a problem, lol) We just need to figure out color, design, amount and any extras we would like to pay for (ex: made in US).

Now that we are back from our trip and my sinuses are calming down enough that I can read again I wanted to say hi again!

Our trip was fast but nice to be back home for a few days! It made me more aware that I love the east coast but the area of Delaware and my friends there are like part of the land that time forgot so I am not willing to move back there just yet! Anyway!

I am ALL for the bracelets! I like that I can tell Nathan that if he can't find a CM to look for someone with the same bracelet as him and they will help find a Cm. It also makes it easier to start up a conversation with someone if you have something in common!

We made it onto the FE list YAAAY!!! I am way more excited about this then any of my fellow cabin mates! I cant wait to start making it! Now I have not been able to read all the back pages so I am not sure if this topic has been brought up or not... So here it goes, The cruise we didn''t get to take was planning a FE exchange and in an effort to save a little money they did a sort of secret mickey thing where each person who was particapating was matched with a mate. Each sent me a small list of interests and then i sent it out to their mate. The goal was to keep cost down and to ensure that everyone who was doing the FE got a little gift. We then were planning on doing a meet the last night of the cruise to meet our matches... Note sure if anyone had suggested this just wanted to toss it out since I noticed there are a lot of cabins involved! I didn't want to step on anyones planning toes just wanted to toss that out! I am also willing to help out of time is an issue! DH is more then willing to tell you all I do all day is sit at home and eat bon bons so I have the time!LOL

**Kiley what he left out is that I am an only child, my mother had just passed away and my fathers health was failing oh yeah and it was more like.... "Hey Amy, what do you think about New Mexico".....Because we are moving there in 3 weeks*** Ahh what we do for love!

So I am off to clean the pool, weed a little, make dinner, do some laundry, dust and clean the downstairs.. AKA Eat some bon bons!

They have green glow in the dark ones (cool!) I priced them out with

Disney Magic Sept 19-26, 2009 with Waltograph (Disney) font on them.

I priced out the debossed design ones as those are the most popular kind you always see.

I like the fact they can be Disgreen as a hat tip in that direction as well as this is where we all first met!

I guess that wording keeps them simple enough and it fits on the bracelet too. I do like having name of the ship on them?

And finally? WE ARE IN!!!!! The new employer okayed in writing the vacation dates this morning. And now it is just getting that final payment in on Disney Visa!!!!!!!! WOOHOO ( I, who find dancing bananas highly overused on the boards. . . .am calling it a dancing banana day!)

I also checked this website. If people would prefer that site, that works for me too Perhaps someone should start a poll? And a date to decide by? By the way I did a count of everyone on the latest FE list that I have and it looks like we have 93 souls aboard (59 adults and 34 kids). So, thats another question, do we want it just for adults, or for kids as well? My only concern is ordering 100 and only 15 people buying them, then I am left with 85 bracelets and am almost $100 out....

Gabbie aka Amy, I am with your commments. I tell my DH that is exactly what I do all day, that (eat bonbons)and watch soap operas! Because the dusting, vacuuming, laundry, cooking and kid watching fairies come in each day and do everything else!

The new job is an incredible opportunity and while yes, it is hard to walk away from being a Senior Vice President and a 25 year career up through the ranks, we did not make this decision lightly. Heaven alone knows where the road goes from here.

Where ever are you from? I am somehow guessing maybe Claymont or Prices Corner Area or New Castle? As a DE native those are certainly places that are stagnant to new growth and housing for the most part? Not a slam in anyway as I have lots of friends in each of those areas and was born and raised in New Castle/North Wilmington/Pike Creek

Thanks jonesing for offering to host the FE list at your cabin door! it would be awesome to get a copy of it when we board. ( I have this fear of really messing this up and leaving something, like the list, home! )

We managed to stay "this side of the ditch" (C&D canal) and love our house, our neighborhood and our neighbors! However, we travel from North Wilmington to Newark to all of the above areas nearly every week for various things. Pike Creek tomorrow am and then onto Christiana!

Congrats Kileybeth! I am so glad you are cruising with us! BTW I secretly hate those dancing bananas.

The bracelet idea is awesome. Does this mean pink is out? or maybe Cinderella blue? I'm not sure how to work out the ordering thing short of everyone deciding on a design/color and ordering for their own family. If someone from our group would like to order them maybe we could send payment to that person in advance. It would be terrible if someone got stuck with $50 worth of bracelets.

I like the idea of saving packing space but I can't imagine doing without hairspray, stying gel, curling brush, makeup...oh and I need space for my ballgown and poufy slip (poor DH just shakes his head). Seriuosly I have sensitive skin. Has anyone with sensitive skin used the body butter, soap etc and had no problems?

I personally think the person that is willing to order them/pay for them in advance should have total control of from who and where to get them from...since you are willing to do that...just my 2 cents....I will send my money in advance!
