OMGoodness! paid off? I am over here playing the credit card game and making minimum payments on my Disney Visa Rewards card and not even putting full balance on until I have to and using my 0% interest to the max and what do I nearly do? Miss a payment! :scared1: Remembered on Memorial Day! Sat straight up in bed and said 'I have to go to the post office NOW" Plenty of time since payments are mailed to a location right here in my home town but OMG! not funny at all.

We haven't carried balances since we decided not to take a 2nd mortagage on a house we were fixing up to sell but use 6 different 0% c.cards all at once! What a nightmare and juggling act that was for 2 years. The bill collectors never stopped calling for a year after we moved into our new home! But we spent $45,000 of someone elses money while we fixed up, sold and recouped our money plus more while moving to a new home! Said we'd never do it again but here we are going on a cruise and letting someone else pay for it for 6 months until we have to turn over the bucks! hehe.

yes, I am a "deadbeat" and my c.card companies don't like me b/c I use them instead of letting them use me.

so, moral of the story, if you are like me and playing the c.card 0% game, remember to pay your bill on time! :rolleyes1

PS I asked DH if I could open another Disney Visa account to get the $100 gift card and he looked at me and said no way! leave well enough alone women! Darn. thought I could finance an excursion with it!

Gosh KileyBeth... you're a LOT braver than I! I couldn't even handle having 1 credit card (that I used purely for college tuition) let alone juggling multiple ones! Good luck!!!

I'm so excited... I got my "big" check and I can now join the "paid off" club! :cool1: I think I'm going to pre-pay my tips and start putting money into my onboard account... that way I know I won't be prematurely spending it!

I'm SOOOOO very glad I have you all to share in the excitement! Nobody at my house has ever been on a cruise and they're not coming along, so they are almost "anti" to my excitement. They just don't understand! ;)

We are paid in full as well!!!:cool1: What a great feeling. We have also started packing but have to do it in secret because the kids don't know that we are going......yet. I have been trying to come up with a plan on how to tell them and think it is going to be amazing....if it works out!!! We were not going to tell them and just go but since we have to cross the border, we thought it would be easier if we tell them right before we leave. We still have to make our FE and gifts. DH has a great plan and wants to help with both. I have everyone's formal wear except mine.....hate to shop for myself but LOVE to shop for everyone else:laughing: ! I have also bought most of the other stuff we need as well. I want to go and see the Dr and find out the best meds for sea sickness though because DS gets funny in his tummy feelings in the car, on rides and even on the 2nd floor of a building looking out a window:scared1: I have a feeling he will be the one to get sea sick and would rather just avoid that if we can. We have started looking at excurtions as well.:cheer2:We are getting very excited!!!!:yay::yay::yay::yay:

:laundy:Paid in full is like music to the ears...canot wait ! It is one of those mornings :coffee:and I have been up lurking on the DIS Boards so i thought I would check in and see what's going on. 3 mos, 3 wks, 3 days...WHoo-Hoo!
Cannot wait. pixiedust:
For those of you that are going to MNSSHP - when are you buying your tickets :scratchin? I so need to put that on my list of things to do. We went one year in Sept '07 I think (free dining) and I did not buy tickets for the HP because I did not think my kids would do well (b/c of their age) and when we were "thrown out":lmao:for the HP to start my kiddos were disappointed :scared:that we could not go! I was worried it would have scared my dd. But now we get to go :love1:- that is if I remember to buy the tickets!:rotfl2:My kids will need rash guards and hats but I think I will wait until the end of the season sales! Disney Store has boys rg for $9.99 but the CM said that they will probably go to $7.99 at some point. DD and ds need shoes for formal night (getting ds black tennis shoes to wear) then he can can use them more than just for formal night. Few will notice them with his tux! Well better run. Things to do before I leave for work :laundy: but I hope everyone has a good day! Bye :wave2:

I too am paid in full... BUT... DH is wanting a verandah. I was going to try to upgrade at the Port, but if I don't get the upgrade, I will have to deal with his "I told ya so's" all week. I think I'll give the boards this question and see if we should upgrade now or wait some

I haven't started packing
I haven't started planning to pack
I guess I'm way behind :confused3 , but since I travel more than most ( a couple times a year), I'm a very good packer

I also think I want to wait until the middle or late summer to hit some sales and see if I can lose any weight :rotfl2: before I buy new stuff. I haven't even tried last years clothes yet to see what still fits (I hate being a late 40's woman sometimes)

For those with motion issues, my DH swears by Bonine, for the ship, the plane and for park rides - its the only thing that work for him

See you all soon :dance3:

Hey all :goodvibes

Just checking in to say hi :) I am still going crazy with planning. I spend all day on Dis and have quite a collection of materials in my "honeymoon" box. I have printed out lots of information and put it in a binder to keep it all in one place...DF thinks I am nuts but secretly looks at it when I'm not around, lol. :rotfl:

To answer some questions:
I have pierced ears (double holes).
For sea sickness (which I only get on boats smaller than a cruise ship, thank god) I have used both bonine and dramamine, both of which unfortunately made me a bit drowsy (read: catatonic ) so I would be cautious if you tend to react that way to meds. Read the box and see if it has any ingredients that could make you drowsy.
I am attending MNSSHP and bought the tickets the day they came out because I am paranoid and didn't wanna chance that they would sell out, lol.

Like one of the PP's, some times I think it is coming so quickly (usually when I am counting in correlation with the wedding) and other times it seems so far away (usually when I am counting in correlation with how many more work days until it comes).

Hope everyone is well :grouphug:

Is anyone attending MNSSHP and staying at the Port the night before the cruise? We are staying at CIS.

I really WANT to go but thought we would get back to our hotel too late and would be exhausted the next day when we board the ship. :confused3

Does anyone know what time MNSSHP starts and ends? Do the tickets sell out quickly?

DHTB and I sat down last night and made lists; packing, planning, FE gifts and a general "to do" list. Poor DHTB. I suffer from OBCTP! :rolleyes1

I am doing MNSSHP but then heading back to our hotel (WL) for the night. We were talking about doing the hotel at the port but just decided we didn't wanna leave Disney property :) If you have tickets for MNSSHP you are allowed in at 4, but it starts at 7 and goes until midnight :)
YAY FOR PLANNING! I have a hard time getting my DFTB to sit down and go through stuff but if I do a little at a time he seems ok, lol.

Hi Folks,

Just wondering ..... Am I the only one who has not yet received the Travel Kit? We are Castaway Club members so I guess we should have gotten our Cruise Kit already.

Anyone else waiting for their Kits?

Take care,

Dennis

How do you figure the tips, would like to prepay them but can't seem to find the info about what they should be ? Thanks

I am attending MNSSHP and staying at the port! We are not very good "morning people" so I thought this would work better + I get the free parking (yes, I finally called and verified we will receive the free parking at Residence Inn since we are staying on Marriott Reward Points) so that was another incentive for us to drive to the port that evening. I am sure my kids will be zonked! But we will make it :drive:. Plan to check in at port Residence Inn in the afternoon and drive to MNSSHP...take jammies to WDW and change the kids before we leave the parking lot at WDW....they can sleep and we can carry them to their beds (they are heavy now....aarrgghhh)
I will be too excited to sleep (and the others probably will too) the morning of the cruise so I hope I do not regret this decision but it saves us over $100 in parking at the port and the room is free along with breakfast!!:thumbsup2
I would love to stay at WDW but it would not be free and if I stay near WDW no free parking either.:headache: so it was a no brainer (dh decided)!:lmao:
WDW should all be free! Have not bought my tickets to MNSSHP yet but when we get a check with a little extra $$ I will!
Dennis I got my Travel Kit....if you used a TA check with them!

Holly...I know you are getting excited...all this cruise, WDW and a wedding and honeymoon!! :cloud9:

Tony'smom There is a tip calculator on the FAQ site at top of DCL forum for tips: $12 per day per person (so $48 per day $48 x 7= for us $336)!

If you need a check and balance system/list check out the "packing list" on the yahoo site under files! It is AWESOME!

dennis, I received mine a while ago. Maybe because yours is going overseas that it seems to be taking longer than normal??:confused3 Or your neighbor is secretly enjoying all the information about your cruise and you will be having some 'extra luggage'?:rotfl: Sorry, couldn't resist, been a long week with DD school. Today was her last day of school and we are now on official summer vacation! Now we just have the next 3 months of 110+ degree weather here and then it will be time for the cruise!! WAH-HOO!! It is getting closer and closer!

dennis we did not receive the vacation package yet either but I am not concerned. My niece took 3 year old twins on the cruise without any planning or knowledge of Disney cruises so I think we will manage great with all the planning we do. Is there something really necessary in the package?

Thanks all for your replies. I'm not really concerned about getting my cruise kit either, although I'd rather receive it. I personally find much easier to pick excursions and other activities through DCL website. However I want to make sure that I will get my travel documents with luggage tags and all the stuff in time.
Karen, I certainly understand that since I am overseas it may take a little longer to receive all the correspondance from DCL, however I read here at our thread that someone (sorry I can't remember his or her name) from Melbourne, Australia had already received the kit several weeks ago.
Wow a 110 degrees summer would be just too much for me, hope you will not melt under that AZ sun :) Hope you all have a great summer.

Hi Dennis, yes thats me. I do have the kit. I was arranging with my TA to have all my cruise documents delivered to AKL for when we arrive. I was worried that we wouldn't get them in time. Then after reading on here that people had kits, I read her emails more closely and saw that she had mentioned a kit and that I should have had it by now. So she went back to Disney and two to three weeks later it arrived. There is not much in it but its a nice keepsake. I don't think I would have got it without her intervention.
