9/16 50's PT Cafe

Seated quickly. I had the fried chicken. It was O.k. I got a leg and breast and what appeared to be a thigh with mashed potatos and corn. Wife had the potroast. She said it was good. I liked the couple of bites I had of it.
Kids had their daily meal of chicken nuggets. For dessert, I had the apple cobbler and wife had cheesecake. Both were fine.

Overall meal was good, not great

9/17 Crystal Palace Lunch Buffet

Best buffet we went to by far. Children's selections were mac n cheese, meatballs and.......chicken nuggets. But they did have PB&J and cold cuts to make sandwiches. Salads were good. Carved meats good. But the best thing I ate on the whole trip was the salmon. It was rubbed with ancho chile powder and it was out of this world. Service was good and character came around quickly.

More to come later..........

Sorry, forgot to mention the traveling party:

Me (love to eat), wife (watches what she eats), DD (rarely eats) & DS (eats o.k. for the most part)

9/18 Akershus Princess Breakfast

Seated pretty quick. Took picture with Belle and then were seated at our table. Waiter took our drink order and we wer off to the cold buffett. Fruit and pastries. Fruit was good and kids (and I) loved the cinnamon rolls! Large plate of eggs, cheese potato casserole, bacon and sausage came soon after. Potatos were really good. Service was o.k. and the princesses move pretty quick, but overall we'd do it again.

9/19 WP Cafe

We were an hour late for our reservation, but we were still seated in 10 minutes. I had the spring rolls (good) and wife had chicken quesidilla (better). Wife had gnocchi with truffles and a light cream sauce. Both were good. Kids had chicken nuggets and make your own sundaes for dessert. Wife had molten chocolate cake and I had the key lime cheesecake. Service and meal were very good.

Thanks for the reviews - I agree with your summation of 50s Prime Time.

FYI, 50's Prime Time will do an all white plate. We requested it on our last trip and we received 2 huge chicken breasts and wings...we wish we knew they would give us so much food, we would have shared!

9/20 O'hana for dinner

We had 5:30 reservations but weren't seated until 6pm. Wait wasn't bad. Had a delicous my tai while we waited. Salad came, took a few bites and noticed that they forgot to put the dressing on it. Server that brought it out took it back and replaced with one that had dressing in a flash. Next came the wontons, sweet sour shrimp and wings. Wife is allergic to shrimp and the kids don't like them, so I ate......all of them. They were really good! Didn't want to fill up on the wontons, so I passed on them. Didn't try the wings because I ate all those shrimp. Wife said they were good. Next came the potatoes (good, but salty) and veggies (o.k. overcooked). I ate the turkey, beef and pork. All were good. I liked the steak with the chimichurri sauce the best. Kids wouldn't eat a thing. Noticed a bowl of Mac n Cheese on the next table. I asked the lady next to me about it and she said the kids could have that or chicken instead of the regular food. So I ordered a couple of bowls from our fantastic waitress (Daniellla) for the kids. She then brought out 2 bowls of ice cream for the kids and a HUGE piece of bread pudding for my wife and I for dessert. Best dessert of the trip!

9/21 Chef Mickey's for dinner

Arrived via boat from the Wilderness Lodge. Seated fairly quickly. Food was average at best. Not really a lot to choose from in my opinion. Salmon with pesto sauce was probably the best item on the buffet. Desserts were o.k. and service was good. Characters took a long time to come around but were very accomodating. Probably wouldn't do CM's again though.

As far as counter service goes. We ate sandwiches at Roaring Forks. Salads were really good. Roast beef w/blue cheese really good as well. Ate breakfast the day we left and they really give you a ton of food. Love the hotel and would definately stay there again. Also at at Cosmic Rays and that was good as well. Nice cool place to sit down and take a break from the parks.

Would definately do the DDP again. Hope my review helped someone.

I noticed you mentioned the roast beef with bleu cheese sandwich at Roarin' Forks. Isn't that a great sandwich? I ordered it last time before my flight home and ate it on the plane. It was to die for. I was really impressed.

Where you on DDP plan, or was there an extra charge? I was wondering about this as I will only eat the breasts.

I had the turkey and brie and it was really good also. I really liked the the chicken salad w/apples, candied walnuts and blue cheese with the apple vinagrette. It was outstanding. The oatmeal raisan cookies were also very good. The Wilderness Lodge is a really great place to stay. The entire staff was great and I look forward to staying there again. Next time in a room overlooking the courtyard/pool area. Stayed at the Villas this time and while nice it was a little to quiet for us.
