DVC Member Update 9/15/04:

Member update, as has been reported here in the DVC area, is held on Wednesdays at 4:00 PM, at the Cinema at Saratoga Springs.

Earlier this week we went to view the model room. I liked them, about the only thing different as compared to the other DVC properties, (Except OKW), the floor plan seemed pretty much the same to me. Colors were what I would call a yellow and green, I am sure there is a fancy name for the shades but that works for me. Overall impression was elegant and laid back. I was impressed at the thickness of the windows. These should be very good for sound proofing. Another impression is that the resort is spread out and I think will seem more so as the property is built out. I liked the Artists Point area, gift shop, restaurant, food court; groceries are all right there together. This was different to me but kinda neat.

Main Pool was fun, well done in theme. Visited the spa at SSR, Wow, very impressed, large well appointed workout room. The locker rooms were very spacious with steam, and sauna, and Jacuzzi.

Member up date:

Got a bottle of water along with info on Magical Gatherings, SSR point chart, and incentive info.

There was an overall introduction to SSR and I was amazed to learn that they will be building into 2007. Two more phases to be built.

Then they talked about new stuff at WDW.
Starting May 5, 2005, there is the celebration of 50 years of theme parks. Bringing the best to WDW. To include :

Cindarellabration from Tokyo Disney. Sounded like a celebration of Disney Royalty.

Soarin, from CA

Action stunt show, adding a San Francisco and Chicago area to the Studio Back Stage area.

Lucky the dinosaur from CA, an free moving interactive audio animatronics, looks pretty neat. He will be at AK .

Expedition Everest at AK.

Looks like a 20% discount at the HOB Gospel Brunch.

Interveral International Exchanges were discussed. Sounds like a good deal. Williamsburg, VA is the most requested Int Int exchange.

There are 95 Member Service advisors and they will be adding another 12 here shortly.

Vero back open on 9/26.

Could you see, or did they mention, if there would be another main themed pool with the last phases in SSR? I know it's been mentioned that they'll need another large pool besides the quiet pools with the amount expansion at SSR. Thanks for the report!

Is there a place online that outlines the construction phases of SSR? I know they are still building, but I am unclear on what's being built now, what's being built in the future, and when it will all be complete.

No word on admission discounts, I did mention that I feel we should get FL resident rates. Standard reply of we are always looking at options for our members. I do feel they are exploring options.
