My daughter's Civil Air Patrol flight participated in a local 9/11 memorial yesterday and I wanted to share some pictures of it. Anyone else attend a memorial that would like to share pics?

I gotta ask though, how old are those young people???? They look REALLY young!

Thank you!

My daughter and the other girl in dress blues are 7th grade. The girl in BDUs is 6th grade. The boys in the dress blues are 10th grade. Lastly, the boy in BDUs is 7th grade. The woman is the flight commander.

The CAP Cadet program is open for and kids 12yo or in middle school. They can stay in as a cadet all the way through high school. After high school they would join an adult member flight. It is similar to a JROTC program but they focus a lot of time on aerospace education instead of just military drills and procedure. They still do that though. The organization specializes in search and rescue, which they also teach the kids. It has been really good for teaching discipline, organization, and confidence. This is our second kid to go through it.
