Never forget means never forgetting 9/11/01. May we always remember all those who were lost on that terrible day. And to all my 343 brothers and sisters of the FDNY the fire service will never forget the sacrifice they all made.
"All gave some, some gave all".
As a show of respect we all must fly our flag today.

Our town had flags up yesterday and I was wondering why they didn't take them down from Labor Day (insert head smack smiliey).

What is the "proper" flag etiquette today, half-staff?

Thanks to all of those who sacrified their lives trying to save others on that horrible day..and thanks to you and all the others who continue doing so now!

I believe so. We just went out and lowered ours (fly one all the time on a flagpole in our yard).

At 1546 our local time, our Forward Operating Base will blow the warning Air Horn.

Flags will be lowered to Half Mast and a Moment of Silence will be rendered.

The "Big Voice" will then play Taps.

Flags will be raised to Full Mast and duties will carry on.

Never Forget.

My DH is in the Army and deployed. We always take time to remember 9/11/01 (where we were, how we felt, what it has meant to our country). We als0 celebrate 9/11/02 when our youngest was born minutes before the unit's memorial run!

My prayers and thanks go out to all the people who risk their lives every day to keep us safe and protect our way of life.

Thanks, Fire, for all you and your brothers and sisters do for us, everyday. We have had our flag flying continuously for exactly 9 years today, just replaced the worn out one with our third one about a month ago.

I just moved to FL and my first actual home improvement project was installing the flag bracket today. There was a little bit of mild swearing involved when I had issues lining everything up, but it was all for a good cause. :)

I walked down the street to my parents' vacation house afterward and put their flag up as well. It was nice to see how many homes in the neighborhood were flying flags today (definitely more than normal).

I just went out and hung ours up, but I flew it full staff. Do I need to go change it to half staff?
