My daughter will be turning 8 when we are at Disneyworld. We are going to the magic kingdom that day. I booked a bbb for her early in the morning. I need help with more ideas please. (cake or other ideas)

There are special cake and more packages you can order if you dine at CRT. We love doing bbb followed by CRT!

You could also order her a specialty dessert. There is a chocolate slipper dessert that is available at both Cinderella's Royal Table and the Grand Floridian. It's a chocolate shoe with several swirls of whipped cream, raspberries and coulis to garnish. I think you have the option of either white chocolate or milk chocolate and the dessert is only about $12, as opposed to the pricier costs of cakes.

And, now "Something Grey" (the dessert Lumiere sings about in the famous song) is available on the Be Our Guest menu--so you could order her this chocolate mousse speciality dessert, which I think goes for about $5?

And, if you have any character dining reservations, be sure to tell them about your daughter's birthday and the characters will supply her with an autographed birthday card. Just another little bit of pixie dust for her special day.

Also--go to Guest Services and get her a complimentary "It's My Birthday" button. I'm sure you've already heard of this--but what a nice way to celebrate. Everyone will wish her a happy birthday and treat her extra special! :)

We have chef mickey booked the morning after her birthday. Could I have them do something then for her b-day or no because it's the day after?
We were thinking of having lunch at be our guest in her birthday. Do I order her a cake for that. But it's lunch so i would need to wait and see how long the line gets.

Does your daughter like Alice? My daughter loves her and is having a tea party with her and the Mad Hatter the day before her 8th birthday. Its at 1900 Park Fare and is only about $45. She did this the last time we went (not for a birthday) and specifically requested getting to do it again to celebrate her bday. She chose this over BBB (she's a dancer though, so I think getting makeovers is not anything totally new for her). We plan on celebrating her birthday throughout the whole week we are there, Disney allows you to do this, so you will have no problem doing something extra the day after at Chef mickey's. I believe the restaurants bring out a complimentary cupcake. You can purchase a little cake if you'd rather though.

I'm also trying to come up with some ideas to have the diser's make for me. I want to hang a banner in the room that says "Happy 8th Birthday Princess Haylie" and decorate the window. I plan on making a gift similar to one that the Disney Florist makes, but making it myself since I'm on a budget! I plan on decorating the room the night we get there after she's gone to bed and leaving a letter from Tinkerbell or the Fairy Godmother as the culprits wanting to celebrate her bday with her.

I think you can celebrate a birthday any day--or for as many days as you want. We were there a week before my daughter's birthday and were celebrating--no one checks I.D. or anything, so you can celebrate whatever you want, whenever you want it! We had two princess meals--lunch at Cinderella's castle and dinner a few days later at Akershus and both days, the staff treated her to a signed birthday card and she had a birthday cupcake that she decorated herself to eat. No additional charge for either.

The previous poster has a great idea--if you have time, contact one of the Dis Designers and ask them if they are able to make your daughter a special something to commemorate her birthday! They make wonderful, personalized paper crafts--cards, posters, banners, bookmarks, door signs, tickets, countdown calendars or chains, etc.--and they all do it for free to make other guests' trips more memorable. They are a talented group of Dis fans! :) Totally worth looking into!

We celebrated our oldest DD's birthday in Disney last month -- she also turned 8 during the trip!

We marked every ADR with her birthday, even though it wasn't the actual day. She always got a cupcake with her meal.

We also did BBB the morning of her bday and they put a birthday princess pin on her sash! Then went to 1900PF for dinner that night (it was onlt 1 TS credit v. CRT, which is 2).

She had a blast!

Have fun.

When my daughter turned 9, we ordered a cake and had it delivered to our room. When we came back at the end of the day, it was a big surprise - they left plates, forks, a box for the leftovers and candles. It was a huge hit.

DD still talks about her 10th birthday at Disney, and we really didn't do anything special (you know, other than a total surprise trip to Disney World). She wore her birthday button the whole weekend, and they brought her a "surprise" dessert at every meal the whole trip. It seemed like every cast member we passed wished her a happy birthday. Anyway, my point is that it will be magical no matter what you do.
