We have an 8pm seating at the Rose & Crown - not big eaters so will skip starters and dessert. Will we still catch the Illuminations if seated inside? Do you think there will be any chance of a table (for 3) outside at this time?

Thanks :thumbsup2

that is a good time for a ressie. The likelyhood of you getting seated at exactly 8pm is rare but you should be seated by 8:30pm at the latest. Anyone who is at the restaurant, inside or out, can go to their observation deck to watch Illuminations. We did that and it was great.

Thanks for the reply - was thinking about altering it to 7.45 but will leave it to chance! :thumbsup2

With an 8:00 don't even think about an outside table. Just about everyone seated by 7:15 will be receiving (after asking for) slow service; they are used to it.

Rose & Crown is a great place to view Illuminations! Yes, even if you are inside, you will be able to come outside for Illuminations. I suppose anything is possible, but in general, it seems that the people with earlier reservations are going to stay put on the patio, stretching their meal out with appetizers and dessert so that they are still there at 9:00. Every time I've eaten there (3x) I've had a PS/ADR for 7:30 but checked in about 7:10 and said I would wait for a patio table and I've been lucky and always gotten it.
