8mm Steamboat Willie

I have an 8mm Steamboat WIllie movie, on a paperboard reel, that I am trying to find the value of. If anyone could point me in a direction of where to go, who to contact, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I'm not aware of many Disneyana collectors out there who collect Disney 8mm films. If you find one, they will certainly want the original box in good condition. The box has more value than the film, because if you try to run an old movie through a projector, it will probably break into small pieces. Age has made the old films stiff and brittle.

There is currently a VERY similar item on eBay you may want to watch (search Disney 8mm) that starts at $500. There is no picture, no description and the seller is a "zero", meaning he is new to eBay and has never completed an auction. But you never know what will happen on eBay!

I'm afraid the film you have has very little value to a Disney collector, perhaps $5-10. With the original box in good condition, $15-30.

for the reply. This and one more, Pluto Takes a Bath, were thing we found in my grandfather belonging. I remember wathing them when I was little.

"Pluto" is actually in the original box, which is in VERY good condition.

If you could post a pic of the box, or reply with a detailed description of the art, I could give you a better idea of the age and value of the "Pluto" film.

OK, not an expert here, but I have seen this question in Disney magazine before. There just doesn't seem to be much demand for these films. It sounds like to me you'd be better off hanging on to it for sentimental reasons(if there are some)
