Hi All, It's our first day in the park for us so I thought I'd share our experience with AK 8am opening. It is NOT an EMH.
We somehow managed to get up and out of our room at 6:45. We are at Allstar Music. We got lucky and the AK bus came right away. We were towards the end of the line so it was standing room on the bus.
We were through bag check and security and in line by 7:20. They started letting people in the park only a few mins later. People were running to Pandora but they did have crew members asking people not to run.
We headed to pandora and the rope was up. Here was our view.
At 7:27 they dropped the rope. People were pretty good walking to Pandora, not a lot of pushing/shoving. Wait was posted as 60 min and lines seemed so long my kids didn't want to wait in it but we stuck it out. At 7:35 they started letting people in. The walk through the queue was fantastic. We walked most of the way and didn't wait until we got to the cement bay area. We were in the ride by 7:55 and off a bit after 8. We then rode the Navi River ride. Wait time posted was 15 but it took 8.
We had a FOP FP for 8:45 so we watched the drummers and had a snack to kill time and then headed back on at 8:45 on the dot. The posted wait time was already 180 min. The FP line is a shorter walk without much interest so I was glad we did FOP stand by.
We headed to Safaris next. We had a FP but the wait for safari was short when we got there so I moved our FP to Primeval whirl for later. We got on Safari, walked one of the trails and then FP'd EE after. We just made it to our 11:30 Yak and Yeti reservation amd air waiting for our food. We are all starving so its perfect timing. It has been a great day so far !! Just thought I'd post for those planning out timing. Getting here early today was totally worth it!

It looks like nighttime but it was really super early
