A few weeks ago we rescheduled our 10am WP ceremony to 8am. We preferred having it earlier so that our guests could take the rest of the day to enjoy the parks or do whatever they wanted. Also, this allowed us to have our "reception" at Boma - we stayed at AKL for our engagement trip so it's special to us. My mom is caught up on the time. Yes I know it's early, but the other times just weren't working out for us with trying to find a place for a reception. Has anyone else done a 8am ceremony? Are we nuts for having it so early?

we are doing a 9am at Sea Breeze because of the heat factor. Just check with your cosmetologist because they are coming for my wedding party at 530 am.

If you are morning people, go for it! It is a good way to have the rest of the day open for your guests, to nap, go to the parks, the resort pool, etc. That was one of the reasons we didn't do the MK photo shoot, we are SO not morning people! Our options for our wedding day were 9:00, 11:00, 3:00, and 5:00. No way were we going with anything before noon! As it was, for our 3:00 ceremony I got up at 8:30, had breakfast, hairdresser was there at 11:30, and the day just got away from me.

We are doing our wedding at 9am b/c we have to do it before the world showcase opens. Cosmo is coming at 5am for us. I think it is a good time b4 it gets too hot. And even though you are going to be inside, you are going to want pictures outside.

If that's what you want then I say go for it! As previously posted, it gives you the and your guests that chance to do whatever you and they want for the rest of the day. We had a 3pm ceremony at the Swan on October 11 2005 and again, as previously posted, we were up and about quite early, had character breakfast at Cape May Cafe, cosmo came at 11am and the rest of the time just wizzed by and before I knew it, I was walking from the Yacht Club to the Swan. Enjoy your day & your reception at Boma - one of our favourites too!! :)

if youre morning people go for it but keep in mind getting ready, transportation, etc.

our wedding was at 1pm & we began getting ready at 9am, this was perfect for us.

I think 8 am is a great time for a ceremony (I am a little biased b/c I am awake before the sun every morning). There is something about the early morning... it's cooler, air feels so crisp, birds chirping... lovely time for a wedding! You are being considerate of your guests' plans by letting them have the rest of the day open and you will be having brunch at a place special to you. You should definitely go for it :thumbsup2

Well, we're morning people (we wake up at 5am on the weekdays) but I don't know if that can be said for everyone else in our group. But if they want to come they'll get up early enough and go back and nap if they really need to. I seem to go back and forth each day where all I think about is everyone else's preferences or say well it's our day and if they don't want to be there then they don't have to come.

maybe mickey mouse will call to wake you up :)

i'm worried i won't be able to fall asleep the night before. hello half a bottle of nyquil !

:)
