Does anyone have any ideas of inexpensive items to put in a goody bag for a 1980's party? The only ideas we have so far are Pop Rocks candy. I was hoping to find some little Rubik's Cubes, but have had no luck so far. I will check Oriental Trading, but wondered if anyone else had any ideas.

Thanks!!

There may be some type of candy or gum that is shaped like an old 45 rpm record... Other 80's things that come to mind is .. legwarmers.. big hair with Aquanet hairspray!!, (also feathered hair with a comb for your back pocket :rotfl: Atari, and rubix cube, like you said,

Good luck!

Oh yeah, and swatch watches!!! :lmao:

How about some of those rubber bracelets which Madonna made famous?

banana clips, big hair bows, fingerless and/or lacey gloves, bangles, (think 80's dressed Madonna) burn an 80's music CD (a record or tape would be more authentic, of course!), headbands, maybe look for shoelaces or keychains with an eighties theme?

Good luck!

Slap bracelets, whistle pops, I'm having a hard time thinking of anything else!

how about toe socks! I also remember the smiley face :) was popular
I went to a website www.1980sflashback.com and that might give you some ideas.
The one's I saw: pacman, smurf, ET, "new coke" Garfield
hope this helps!

How about a mixed cd (or cassette tape if you want to be accurate) of 80s songs? Actually to be truly accurate, you need to make the tape by holding a tape recorder up to the radio

For candy: Gummi Bears (they did have a show), Nerds, Bubble Tape (do they still sell this?), Runts, Candy necklaces

Were slap braclets early 90s or late 80s?

A second the neon!
Big earrings (to go with the big hair) - or one big and one stud
"Jams" shorts/pants
Scrunchy socks
Lace hankies - tucked under a rhinestone pin
Skinny ties
Razzles
a DVD (or VHS) of an 80s show/music video/movie
Colored Ray Ban Wayfarer style
LA Olympics memorabilia (that might be a tough one)
Mousse, lots of Mousse
Trivial Pursuit item

Oh yeah...was the Pepsi Challenge 80s or 70s? That would be a fun game.

Is there such a thing as Miami Vice dolls of Crockett and Tubbs? If so and if they're available and inexpensive, this would be good. I'm thinking there might be something like that available, since there is an upcoming Miami Vice movie.

Editing to say: my namesake, Ed Grimley, was something of an 80's comedy icon. I know from experience that Ed Grimley dolls are extremely hard to come by, and won't be cheap, but I know there are videos of the animated show he was in.

A lot of the toys from the 80s are coming back, like Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake. Also, My Little Ponies. Bet you could find something with those themes around!

cabbage patch kid stuff (popular again) garbage pail kid cards (still se those around) stack of trivial pursuit cards, disposable camera (invented in 80s) mini tetris game, microwave popcorn, 80's movie..

I think McDonald's may have changed promotions, but a couple of weeks ago, my dd got a small Strawberry Shortcake doll with a happy meal.

I know a lady who saw a homeless man in front of a McDonald's (back when McD's gave out Beanie Babies) so she bought a few happy meals, took out the Beanie Babies and gave the homeless man the food. They were both happy!

Sounds like a fun idea!

When I think 80's I think MTV- so anything music video related. Madonna was wearing those big bows in her hair(and yes so was I)Prep stuff- like whale ribbon headbands. Is this for adults or kids?..because adults I am thinking a can of Tab(they still sell it) Ummm yeah I remember Neon stuff. Clubbing was big and didn't punk go wild then too? maybe those dog collar things? Elmers glue for the Mohawk! Big hoop earings.
I googled mini rubic's and came up with a bunch of places- they are a little expensive though(I thought they had them at Target.)
