I'm thinking of trying to talk dh into a short trip around xmas. wanted to know if i could get a new room at contemporary standard view garden wing , anyone know, or have a # for the resort, reservations don't know about the new rooms.

I think they are still working on the south wing. until they are finished I doubt you can get a room there.

Even if you wanted a new room, it would only be a request, not guaranteed.

You cannot book rooms directly through the hotels...you call the central reservations office (CRO)...they can tell you what type of rooms are available for your dates. although as the previous poster stated they will not guarentee you a renovated room...you can have them note that request on your reservation....but it is only a request. South wing room rennovations are scheduled to be completed by the end of October...so I assume that means you have a 50/50 chance of getting a rennovated wing room...but Xmas is a very busy time...so it would be a gamble.

If you book a Tower Concierge room (the limited concierge floor) you'll be put on the 10th floor, which has already been renovated. The AP rate is $335 per night. A regular tower room AP rate is $275 per night.

I know it's not a guarantee, and I also know you can't make reservations through the hotel. I just wanted a difinitive answer as to when the wing rehabs would be complete.CRO doesn't have a clue. If I have a 50/50 chance I might go for it, if not, maybe not. And I had thought of light concierge but don't want to spend that kind of money quite frankly.Though I'll probably cave, knowing me.
