My DS is eight and very much into jazz (gigs in restaurants and jazz festivals in and around NYC). We were thinking of going to see Joy Wright in two weeks at the Jazz Club.

The plan would be to arrive at P.I. before 7, eat dinner and make the first set at the Jazz club at 8:30. Then leave for the resort.

Would that be too wierd for my DS? Keep in mind he plays in the Village in NYC.
Does this allow us to skip the entry fee for P.I.?

I think you'll need a wrist band to get into the clubs, so no you won't be able to skip the entry fee.
As for taking kids to the clubs, well you get a wide range of responses. My answer is, since he is use to a club type atsmophere, do it.

I think that for a mature 8-year-old coming with his parents, the Jazz Club at PI would be fine. I've never really seen anything outrageous there, even late at night. It's much more laid back than Motion or Mannequins.

I would avoid Mondays and Thursdays, as those are CM nights and things all over the Island get a little crazy. The rest of the week, you'd probably be fine.

You would still have to pay the entry fee, though -- there's no admission to the clubs without a wristband.

Well, I guess we'll have to pay the wrist band fee if we go then.

I've always assumed that jaded New Yorkers would be offended by very little at P.I.
