I tried searching for this but didn't find the answer I was looking for?

Which vehicle companies rent an 8 passenger vehicle from the Orlando Airport?

At the moment we have a 15 passenger van reserved- the cost is great but the idea of driving 4 small children (6,6,4,3) and 4 adults around in one for 8 days is a bit insane. Plus my recollection is that they aren't very safe.

Also, I don't know how to or where to get the best rental discount coupon/codes.

We are going in May of this year, staying off site.

im not sure if this is any help, but we are going december and renting a minivan. says it fits 7. which is enough for us. what about renting 2 cars? 2 adults and 2 kids in one and same in the other. might work out cheaper.

We are in the same boat as you. I was looking into the same thing as they're 8 of us (4 children-6,6,4,2) and 4 adults but the prices were outrageous and I've heard they aren't the safest vehicle either. So, we rented 2 standard cars from Alamo for $256 each (including taxes) for 11 days in mid May.

We have gotten our 8 passenger Toyota mini-van in the past from Alamo. I just checked their site and they still have a listing for it but when I check for one through BJs Wholesale club (we get the best discount from them) there is no listing for the 8 passenger van in Orlando. Its been a few trips since we used the mini-van so not sure if they did away with them or if they are just hit and miss on the mini-van row. Budget lists a full size suv that seats 8 as well as a luxury suv for 8. There might be a discount code at mousesavers.com that would help.

I called Alamo today and according to the man I spoke with, at the moment they do NOT have any 8 passenger minivans available for the dates I was hoping, though they occasionally are.

I do have an 8 passenger SUV reserved through Hertz but the rate is $778 for the week vs. $425 for the 15 passenger van at Enterprise.

I may try to talk our friends into doing the two standard cars because I just don't trust the 15 passenger van situation, especially with little ones. If I can find good deals on the standard cars, I will go that direction. Plus that way, I will feel comfortable driving :)

I am going to keep checking around though.

Make sure you personal auto policy and/or your credit card covers a 15 passenger van.

If not you'll have to purchase the $$$ coverage from the agency.

I never thought about 15 passenger vans not being covered by our personal auto policy. Better check on that!

We're in the same boat however we only have 1 driver. I thought for sure the Tahoe's from Alamo would allow 8 passengers but I guess I'm wrong :confused3
I called Alamo and they don't carry the 8 passenger Sienna's anymore either :sad2:
Hertz has 8 passenger Tahoe's but the price of them is outrageous!:scared1: A few of the rental companies do offer the 8 passenger Suburbans however the price they're asking for I could probably buy a used one there cheaper! :rotfl:

Visa Signature coverage:
Most private passenger automobiles, minivans, and sport utility vehicles are eligible, but some restrictions may apply.

Pretty sure 15 passenger vans aren't included.

2 quick comments:

1. Our insurance does cover a 15 passenger van if it is less than 12000 lbs which is apparently their dividing line between personal passenger and commercial passenger. I thought that was interesting, so do check yours because everyone's is different.

2. I ended up finding a Toyota Sienna 8 passenger van for a little less than $400 through the Toyota Rent-a-Car program via Toyota dealerships. The drawback to this is that we have to transport ourselves to the dealership to pick up the van. But we have enough adults to send one to pick up the van, while the other 3 corral the kids and get the luggage.
