Hello! We are traveling to Florida in September and are bringing our kids' friends with us so we have a few extras. We are flying in to Tampa and need an 8 passenger van rental. I have found two companies that offer those, Carl's Van Rental and Florida Van Rentals. Both have pretty mixed reviews on Yelp. I was wondering if anyone on here has used either of them or if you recommend another company. Thanks a bunch!!

I'm not familiar with either of those companies, but you can get an 8 passenger van through National (and possibly other rental agencies). The Toyota Sienna is an 8 passenger minivan and National shows them available in September. If you need something bigger than that, you can also rent a 15 passenger van from them as well.

remember to check out how much room you are going to have for luggage. not a lot of room behind last row of seats. if you will have 8 people in van with all that luggage you might want to look at 12 passenger I know our MAW trip booked us a 12 passenger with having 6 people because of luggage and it was a tight fit with 4 large suitcases and carryons

I have seem an aisle in the Alamo garage at MCO for 8 passenger vans. I think you need to call them because I have never found it listed on the website.

Sorry just saw your coming in to TPA. Tampa is not one of the airports "officially" supported which is why you cant find the 8 seater van on National/Alamo site. However they do have them there, but you cant specifically reserve it because the fleet numbers are low and they may not have one on the lot at the time you come. Your best bet is to reserve a premium SUV with Alamo which can also hold 8 or a regular minivan and then upgrade upon arrival.

It's on the website for both. Officially only MCO and RSW is supported in Florida. Un-Officially most of the florida airports have them, but usually in smaller numbers which is why I suppose they dont make them available for booking on the website but rather for upgrading when you reach the rental facility.

I booked an 8 passenger van through alamo yesterday in Orlando so they're on the website. But you may have to call and see if they have them in Tampa.

Needed to rent a car for my upcoming trip and Budget at MCO had the best price and the cheapest vehicle they had was a 12 passenger van. The compact was the next cheaper vehicle at $135 I will be driving a 12 passenger van for just myself and one piece of luggage! But for $121.00 for a 5 day rental I will take it.

You chose a 12 seater van over a compact for just you to save $14.00 :confused:

You do realize that your going to spend more and then some in gas than the deal you thought you got right..:scratchin

I will be at the Pop one night . I need to stop at the grocery store on the way to the Pop. Plan to stop at the Publix that is at the Landstar exit on 417 the store is a mile from the exit.

From the POP I need to get to the to Bestwestern at DTD. Then from there to the airport . So it is cheaper than a shuttle which would cost $63 plus tip to get me from the Bestwestern to the airport. Plus a cab to get from POP to Bestwestern.

Just remember those 8 passengers will have serious luggage. I got a 8 passengers Ford Expedition Max and a Yukon XL. That extra length was very handy for all that luggage. It's amazing the difference compared to a 7 passenger Dodge Journey which has no luggage space once people are loaded.

I know this is an old post but I'm just wondering if you ever ended up using Florida Ban Rentals?I'm thinking of using them but with so many mixed reviews I'm a little scared.
