Has anybody rented a 8 passenger van lately? I believe only Toyota has them but don't see them mentioned at any of the normal rental sites.

We have 8 of us staying for 10 days and will need the room to drive to Tampa and Universal. Right now I have a 7 passenger for $439 and a 12 passenger van at $853, one is too small and the other is too much.:confused3

Are you also using the van to get from the Airport to your hotel? Sometimes 8 passenger means 8 passengers and a little space behind the last seat for some slim bags.

So you should also think about luggage when looking at vehicles.

We will be using ME to get us to Wildernes Villas, and the van to move us from there to AKV and OKW, that's why I really like the 12 place van. However we could have bell services move our luggage so really only need the 8 place.

In regard to the request I emailed a local, Orlando, Toyota dealer and they quoted me the following.

""Good afternoon! Thank you for your inquiry!! We do rent 8 passenger Siennas. The price for the 10 days will be $568.96 plus taxes (TOTAL with tax & surcharge is $627.25) We are open Saturday, November 5th from 7am to 4pm with the last rental pick up at 3:30pm. We have 24-hr rental periods; so if you pick up at noon on the 5th, you’ll need to return by noon on the 15th. Below you will find our requirements.

-Must be at least 21yrs old w/ valid Driver’s License
-Must carry your own Full Coverage Auto Insurance that will transfer to the rental
-Must provide a Major Credit Card for deposit (Pre-Paid and Debit cards not accepted)

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions.""

More than the 7 place but less than the 12 place.:rolleyes1

Now if I can get to the dealership w/o a taxi:dance3:

Alamo and National have 8 pax. vans. Toyota Siennas. They are listed as: 8 passenger vans on the web sites. Click on the vehicle link on the respective web sites.

I am renting a 8 passanger van from Alamo on Tuesday at MCO! A few things - I could only get it to show up in the cars list if I had a certain insiders code AND sometimes only if I was picking up and dropping off at MCO...not if I was dropping off at CCC...

If you go into the october rental car rate thread, you will see the Alamo code I used - it ended in 667 or something like that but I cant get to it from here!

Hope that helps! My 8 day + 4 hour rental is 232$ for the Sienna starting on Tuesday!

Funny the 8 pax. vans showed up for me without any codes at all, I just clicked on the vehicle/car link at the bottom of the Alamo and National intro screens.

I don't want to pick it up at MCO but CCC, so I need it to "show" up at CCC. I know they have them on their web site, just have find it at CCC.:headache:

I will keep trying, now I am sort of leaning towards the 12 pass big van. Expensive but holds all luggage and people. But will continue to chek for 8 pass sienna.

Thaks all

I can find them on the car listing screens, but when I attempt to make reservations they dont always show up in the available car list. Generally - I dont see them with the Visa code, but I do with the Insiders one...

My National corporate code also never provides the option for the 8 passenger on national but other IDs do work....

Now I understand, sorry about the confusion, but, you did not state you wanted it from CCC. What van did you see that is a 12 pax? We have a 15 pax van and have NEVER seen a 12 pax. one. That is not to say it does not exist, but, I work at MCO and have never seen one.

Have you thought about renting 2 full size cars? Lots of space and you would have room for 10. Less gas and a whole lot less expensive.

You just have to take into account paying for parking for 2 cars...

I did take that into account. Parking at the Disney parks is free for people staying onsite. The other parks will, of course, charge you. However, there is significant savings renting two full size cars over the 15 pax. van even when you calculate the cost of parking two cars.

PS. I would go with the dealship deal. That seems to be the most cost effective even with the taxi ride.

We have 8 kids so there are 10 of us coming and we decided to just rent two cars because it was alot cheaper and would give up more flexibility as well and less in gas. We have to drive a 15pass van at home to get everyone around but since we are using ME to get back and forth to the airport I didn't need luggage space but we picked the Ford Fusion and it has a huge trunk and says it fits 4 large suitcases. Just an idea.

The Ford Fusion is a really nice car, the Impala also has a HUGE trunk.

did i read that you are using van to move resorts? if so go with the 12 passenger. 8 passenger gives very little room for anything but passengers. will probabily mean 2 trips to move everything to new resort. we had a 12 passenger van for grandson's MAW trip and it took all the extra room in it for the 6 of us from the airport. it is bigger and a little harder to park. one advice for parking is park where you can pull out, not back out, where possible.

Check with Carl's Vans. We rented with them one trip and very nice. I think the price has gone up, but tons of Van's. They pick you up so no Airport usage fee, and there should be an internet coupon code.

The other one, was a rental from Alamo for a mini van and when we got there it was too small for our luggage. For $5 more a day we got a 15 passenger van. WOW, that was super roomy for teens and tweens, but a little big to park.

Considered it but we all like traveling together and we will all be sharing a Grande Villas for the 10 days.

It doesn't have to be at CCC, however I like the convenice of the Kiost and Alamo. So its who ever is cheapest and can shuttle me to pick up and drop off.

The rental for the 12 place is below.

Thanks I will check.

Well I did and no I don't think Carl's will fit the cheap pocket book. Well over $1,000 for anything that would fit us.

Thanks again

Just a FYI, Budget is not at the CCC, Alamo/National is. Alamo/National does not rent a 12 pax. van. Only 7,8 and 15. Just want to make sure we are on the same page.

I am thinking your best bet would be to rent it at the airport. No shuttle, onsite and it has a kiosk. You can always rent the van and have the others take ME.

Keep in mind that the Seinna's (8 pax) 8th seat is very very tiny and narrow.
It is between the two middle seats behind the front seat.

JMHO, but, I am still thinking two cars would offer more flex(say some wanted to go here and others wanted to go there), save a ton of money, less gas than the gas guzzling 12 pax (or 15 pax) van and the full size cars have HUGE trunks. Again, JMHO, but having traveled with a large group, we found having two cars was great.
