We're just back from 8 nights at Pop and had a tremendous time. Special thanks to Tyler for the fabulous photos in the Pop thread - really whetted our appetites and helped us decide to stay there.

What a nice place. We stayed in the ground floor in the 50's section, closest to Classic Hall. No complaints whatsoever.

Anyone have any questions? I'll do my best to answer. Trip was DH, DS (4), and DD (6).pirate:

what building number were you in? what did you like most? least? how was the bowling pin pool? how close were laundry facilities? (i am deciding whether to overpack and not do laundry or underpack and do laundry... leaning towards underpacking!)

We had room 1112, building 1 (or A if you look at the Pop map) of the 50's section. Corner ground floor room, first room on courtyard side (not parking lot side), just down the walkway from the bowling pin pool, which is much larger than it appears in photos, very clean, not particularly crowded, plenty of chairs and chairs and tables with umbrellas. The laundry is located right at the pool where the showers/restrooms are, so that also was very close. Nice thing: We were in just about the closest room to the front desk, with luggage on the front side of Classic Hall (nice for getting a cart to haul baggage to/from car). Buses were a short walk around to the front of Classic Hall with queues. As we were not closer to the pool, we had very little noise, although people with loud shoes could be heard going up the bowling pin staircase to the upper floors. Sometimes kids would knock on the window or door, nothing particularly distressing or annoying. That may have happened three times in our whole time there. What we did not like were the "catch phrases" on the tops of all the buildings. They did nothing to enhance the appearance of the buildings. They were more of an annoyance than anything. DH and I questioned several of the phrase choices and wondered if they were regional. Another nice thing was at the bowling pin pool, they continuously played '50s music, nothing too over-the-top, and threw in a Disney song from a '50s movie here and there. (DH and I are in our 30s, so it's not like it was songs we grew up with but it was not annoying in the least.)

We liked it so much we're staying there again when we go in October! It was so nice to be in a new place, where things were very clean (no scuff marks on the walls or corners), and our mousekeeper was just perfect. Left us plenty of towels each day, replenished soaps and shampoos regularly, and always did something fun with the kids' stuffed animals so that they were excited every time we came "home".

All in all, a lovely experience.

Oh, and the bus service is quite remarkable. July is notoriously busy but Pop is on their own route, not stopping at other resorts or other resort stops within the resort as there is only one stop. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus from any of the parks or Downtown Disney except for one night at MK, we missed the bus, the queue was quite long, a 2nd bus came, filled, and left, and then 3 buses came shortly after that. Whole thing took maybe 15 minutes.

Glad to hear your report. We leave for Pop in a few days! So excited. I have also requested the 50s section.

Maggie
