8 day to go and now THIS...!

We've only been planning this trip for a year, and 8 days before we go, all He!! has broken loose.

Thought I had a cold, but boy did I feel rotten. OK, after coughing up a lung and wheezing like crazy head to doctor who says, ah...you have bronchitis. Great.

Dog and I are laying on couch, me recupurating, and she loving me being home, when I notice something funny with her eye...no make that both eyes. Trip to vet that night tells us our beautiful Lab of 5 years, has a possible progressive degenerative disease of the cornea of both eyes...they think...have to wait for pup to see doggie opthamologist end of May.

No joke, next day wondered if I burnt inside of my mouth, cause it hurts like crazy. Hubby looks for me, and says, oh oh...you better get to dentist/doctor as mouth is full of blisters ! Nice. Emergency trip tp dentist ( do you know how much you gotta pay for that ! ) and he says, "Yup, it's a mess, must have a crappy immune system right now, probably viral..." Ok, so trip to pharmacy for tube of disgusting gritty mouth cream, leaves me thinking, WHY ME.

And today...son who's 4 woke up to major coughing fit, congestion and feeling totally blah ! ( He doidn't want a treat from the corner store, feeling bad !!!)

No, I'm not sure what bad karma is invading my house ( husbby says he's feeling like it's a plague house ! ), but I need it gone in 8 days !

Please send all good karma, thoughts, and prayers my way. Thanking you very much.

Arrg, I hate when the crap hits the fan especially right before a great vacation. Sorry this is all happening right before your vacation, BUT, you have to look at it this way you have 8 days to get better, plenty of time, at least it didn't happen 2 days before your trip. Sending you all the good karma so your house is back to calm. and of course plenty of

If anyone else in the house is going on the trip ask the doc if they (little ones) can take a zinc suppliment ie cold ezze drops of the cvs generic. Basically a cough drop that helps boost the immune system before the cold/illness goes full force. May save someone else from getting sick 2 days prior to departure!

Who what a crazy week! You sure will be in need of a vacation when yours gets here! Not to fret your bad karma is all coming now….by the time your trip gets here everything will be fine….I mean really the bad has to run out sometime….and it sounds like you already had your fill of it.

My advise would be to give the whole family lots of vitamin C and xinasha (mis spelled?) to stop any more illnesses.

Hang in there and get lots of rest. Did the doctor give you anything for the bronchitis?
The same thing happened to our house the the week of the trip. First DH diagnosised Mon. with bronchitis, his doc. gave him the Z-pac (the 5 day course of antibiotics), Weds. DS4 was diagnosised with Bronchitis, given that DH aslo had it doc. gave him the childrens Z-pac, on Fri. DS3 started getting sick. Called the doctor and gave them the sob story that we were leaving early in the morning for Disney and would be gone for 2 weeks. Doc. called in a perscription for DS3 for a Z-pack.

The good news was that by the time we started the parks on Tues. everyone was fine and we had a great trip.

I feel better already...well actually I don't but I'm in a better mental place !

I'm on antibiotics, dog is still being a goofy dog, son is still playing ( that's good sign ), and hubby is now wearing surgical mask while around us...just kidding !

If we have to be sick, at least it will be warm !

Take lots of Vitamin C..at least 2 grams a day, but split it up in several doses, you body can't process more than 250 mg every few hours. But watch out, too much Vitamin C can give you diarrhea.

Also, if you're on antibiotics eat yogurt with active cultures, like Dannon. antiobiotics interfere with the normal microflora in the gut and can give you diarrhea. The active yeast cultures in yogurt can help stabilize the intestinal tract.

In reading over my post, perhaps you should also stock up on Inmodium!
