8:40 Be Our Guest reservation: what should we do?

I just scored an 8:40 breakfast reservation at Be Our Guest. I've never done a PPO meal before. Is that early enough that it makes a difference, or am I going to be finishing after millions of people have already entered the park?

What would you do?

You will enter with other PPO breakfasts and can head straight to BOG. They do not hold you. The only problem will be if the opening time is changed to earlier, which happens.

If our reservations are at 8:40, can we get in to the park with the first PPO guests? Or will we have to wait until a later time to enter the park?

I just checked, and it's an EMM day. What will that mean for us? When we are finished eating, must we stand around until 9am without riding any rides?

We were thinking that those of us who are interested in breakfast could head to BOG while the rest of us could take our time heading to Fantasyland and bypass breakfast entirely. But if it's an EMM day, does that mean that our options are eating at BOG or standing in a holding pen outside BOG while the EMM guests have their fun?

If you have an ADR for all, than "the rest of us could take our time heading to Fantasyland and bypass breakfast entirely" will pay $10/person no show fee.
Yes your options are either eating at BOG or being held until 9AM for the park to open to non EMM guests.

EMM is different than EMH. EMM is a pay event. I'm not sure if they are as generous with the PPO breakfast guests as far as riding goes as they are on mornings without EMM. I would totally understand, since the EMM folks are paying for the opportunity to have early access to the rides.

Breakfast is going to take much longer than 20 minutes. If your PPO is at 8:40am my guess is you won't be out of there until around 9:30.

This is incorrect you do not pay a per person cancel feel. As long as someone makes it to the reservation there is no fee. However, if some dont want to join you, you might change the party number so those ressies can go to someone else who would like to score one.

Our ADR is for the morning we check in at POR.

Just to clarify, when can we enter the park if we have an 8:40 ADR? 7:45? When can we enter BOG? 8:40? When can we do anything else in the park, considering it's an EMM day? 9?

This depends on the day. You may get lucky and get in early, you also may be held until your reservation time so you have to hurry back there...so no definitive answer...best advise, be there early and he pixie dust happens then yaaa!

You should be able to enter with the rest of the early PPO ADR entrants, somewhere between 7:45 and 8. I would imagine they'll allow you to enter BoG when you get to the podium out front.

Part of your crowd will NOT be allowed to break off and go ride rides while some of you dine at BoG. People pay quite a bit of money for EMM. They're not going to allow folks to forgo a PPO breakfast to be able to circumvent paying the EMM fee and ride rides early. It's just not going to happen. Besides, it's a limited number of rides (in Fantasyland only) that are open for EMM, and other parts of the park are roped off and manned with cast members so you're not allowed to simply wander all over the park.

If you're lucky, you'll get one, maybe two rides on 7DMT or PP before the rope drop crowd gets there. Maybe zero, since it's an EMM day.

This is correct although they did not say they were going to wander all over and try to ride rides..per the post taking their time heading to fantasy land is possible, if they dont mind keeping those seats unused from those who might like them.

Maybe, but from reading the following post from the OP, it sounds like they have the plan to ride rides.

We aren't set on anything, just trying to figure out our options. We might have a leisurely breakfast that ends at 9:30; we might slowly stroll down an empty Main Street; we may commandeer Fort Langhorn. It all depends on what's possible.

It sounds like we should be prepared to enter the park at 7:45 and see what happens. Most likely, we'll slowly make our way to BOG, Eat as soon as they will let us, and try to hit up 7DMT once before the rope drop crowd arrives.

You get in MK at about 7:45.... Then you can get in to BOG at 8 even if your APR is 8:40. When you are done eating or even if some don't eat at all the CMs hold you back. On a non EMM day you get a couple rides on 7DMT a few minutes before the rope drop crowds arrive. But on a EMM day they hold you back till 9 and direct you to the stand by line.
