Well its not good to be back~ I now have to make beds and COOK!
We started our trip off with a week at WDW we stayed at the Animal Kingdom lodge.(Awesome) Then we headed to Port Canaveral with a 4 day stay at the Royal Mansions. We did have a few problems with the front desk staff at the Royal Mansions and then with our room. I have reported all of this to the managment who called when we returned home and offered a free stay next time we go down there. The location of the Royal Mansions is great! Nice pool, great and right on the beach. The best part of this property is that you can see all of the cruise ships leave port from the beach!
We had rented a car from Avis at the hilton in Downtown disney.
My husband dropped us at the port at 11:00 am and then returned to Avis to return the car. By the time he shuttled back to the port we were all checked in and and toward the front of the line. We boarded and he went to Palo and I the spa to make ressies. He was the second in line at Palo and I was the only one at the spa! We checked the kids into the clubs then we headed to
Parrot cay for lunch. The lunch was very good.
We checked our stateroom 6040 and loved the location and room. Then we explored the ship!
The boys spent some time at the clubs throughout the cruise, but not a whole lot. They are 9 and 11 so they were in different age groups. They are pretty close and do everything together so they spent alot of time together exporing the ship.
They saw movies, spent time at the pool and Quarter masters ect... We used the Quiet cove pool daily.
In Key west we just walked around and explored the town.
In grand Caymen I had emailed Abanks divers previosly and booked to resort courses for the boys.( even though Cullen is only 9 they took him after talking with him) Our whole family dives.
The boys did a 30 min classroom time with the instructor the did a 45 ft shore dive for about 40 min. They did real well!
I think this was the highlight of thier whole vacation!
Abanks divers is just to the right off the dock when you get off the ship. Total cost for the resort coarse and dives for the boys was 60.00 each!
At Cozumel we rented a jeep and explored the island. Both my husband and I had been to Cozumel several times before so we were very comfortable doing this. We ended up at MR. Sanchos and recommend this beach! No cost to enter, there is a resturant, shops,a trampoline and water sports for an additional cost.
We skipped dinner on the ship that night and headed to a place we had eaten at in previous trips to Cozumel. Great food and service. The name of the place is Panchos Backyard.
At Castaway cay we found are place on the beach and swam and relaxed in the lounge chairs. We did di a little snorkeling but found the snorkeling not that great here. The island itself is very beuitiful.
The service in the dining rooms and state rooms and basicly everwhere on the ship were outstanding and we tipped obove and beyond what they reccomend. The food was good in all the dining rooms although in Palo it was great!!!
All in all it was a great experiance and a wonderful vacation!
There are a few things that bothered me on the trip that I will mention that disney cannot control.....its the rudeness of PEOPLE!
Being in the Restarunt Busness it bothers our family that people take so much food in the buffets and don't eat it! I have taught my children to only take what they can eat and then go back for more if they want. It was sad to see Adults taking two, three plates stacked sky high and then waste it by not eating it.
It seems to me its those people who complain about how much they are paying for the cruise!!!
Another thing that I wintnessed is on Castaway cay, towards the 11:30 to 12:00 hour chairs we getting harder to find. We wintnessed a party of 4 people put things on 4 chairs (shirts ect..)
tehn go to another section of chairs closer to the water and save more chairs(4 more) I heard the one man in the group say, now we have lounge chairs close to the water and some close to the bar! I never saw then once use the chairs behind us!
Anyhow we had a great time , the weather was great.
Hubby and I enjoyed the dueling pianos nightly.
One night we crashed about 12:00 midnight and did not hear the boys banging on the stateroom door at 1:00 am (they forgot there key)
Our wonderful stateroom host opened the door for them...LOL
We had a great time and miss the magic~~~~~
