Woke up a little after 5:00 this morning and saw St. Maarten in the distance about 10 nautical miles from the port side of the ship. We docked at 7:00 and the RCCL "Explorer of the Seas" was pulling in just behind us. We are still waiting for the "All Ashore Call" but DW wants to go and get some breakfast at Topsiders first.
We left the ship after breakfast and headed for a water taxi. It was extremely hot and humid today, and my DW is not use to this kind of weather. We managed to pick up a few items, and got my DD a dress for Tropical Night, walked around a little bit, and headed back to the ship. The one thing we did not care for in St. Maarten was that as soon as we got off the water taxi, we were inundated with taxi drivers, time share reps, and hair braiders, we must have said no to about 15-20 people before we got into our first shop to escape them(it reminded me of when I was in Israel 4 year ago). The people in the store were very helpful and not pushy at all.
On the way back to the water taxi we ran into Angela (texanlvr) and her family, we rode back to the ship together and shared a table at Lumiere's for lunch. Angela's oldest DD and my DD went off to do their things, so that left 8 of us for lunch. When our server came and took our order, he must have known we were all American's, all 8 of us ordered cheeseburgers, with fries and cole slaw.
After lunch, we caught up with DD and went to see Finding Nemo and Freaky Friday before dinner. We then went back to our cabin and started getting ready for another long night of fun!!!
We had dinner back in Animator's Palate tonight, and I selected the Sweet and Sour Chicken, and as always, I was not disappointed with my meal. After dinner we went topside for the TROPICALIfragilisticexpialidocious Deck Party, where we stayed until it ended around 11:30. We then went back to our cabin and got some sleep, as we had an early wake up call for the St. Thomas Immigration check in.
*Tomorrow, St. Thomas and Sapphire Beach*
