Hi All,

I'll be going on the Wonder from Vancouver arriving in Vancouver 8/20 then leaving 8/29, so I'll need a hotel on the 8/20 and 8/28. Anyone have recommendations that are easy to get to the cruise?

Thanks!

I stayed at the Blue Horizon after an RCCL cruise and really liked it. It was a bit of a walk, but not horrendous. And the views were amazing!

The Pan Pacific is as easy as it gets! It is connected to the cruise terminal, and you can take a hotel elevator down to the terminal area. When we did the Alaska cruise in 2014, we were able to leave our luggage in our hotel room with the DCL tags, and it magically showed up in our stateroom on the ship! We even got to see the Wonder coming into port the morning of our cruise. It was a such a treat for us and our daughters.

It is also a lovely hotel with one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had (and I've had a lot!). I highly recommend it.

As with any city, you'll pay a hefty premium to be downtown. Depending on your price/convenience rankings, you could look for something near the light rail and closer to the airport (i.e. out of downtown).

We are staying at the pan Pacific. At first I thought it was way too much money per night but the more I shopped around I realized it was right in the middle price wise.

Thanks All! Wow that Pan Pacific looks awesome...but also a bit pricey considering we'll be there for like 10 hours

When we flew in, we stayed at a Hampton near the airport. It was nice, clean, perfect for 1 night of sleep, I think the rate was $130 ish. The hotel had a free shuttle to/from the airport. We then hired a car service (a SUV for 6 people $100ish) that took us to the Pan pacific. We pre-paid in advance and the rate was $275ish (I think I got a really good rate). We loved the Panpacific... super nice hotel, great location and getting luggage picked up/walking downstairs into port was very easy.

PS, all USD.

The website for the Pan Pacific indicates that its standard rooms have double beds (as opposed to queens). Is this true? (if so, that's a deal-breaker for us)

The Fairmont Waterfront (across the street) seems to show the same thing.

The Fairmont Pacific Rim (a few blocks away) shows as having queens in their standard rooms. Also gets superior ratings on Tripadvisor. But it's more expensive than the other two.

A downtown Vancouver hotel that provides very good bang for the buck is Time Square Suites. But it's not super close to the cruise terminal (it is, however, close to Stanley Park).

We are looking a year ahead for our cruise and the double beds at the Pan are a deal breaker as well. Considering Pacific Rim, but it is pricey $$$. With double beds we would need two rooms for sure, so I guess it balances out...

Nothing in downtown is too difficult to get to. Taxis are plentiful, clean, and relatively cheap.

For a "just sleeping here" hotel check out the holiday inn. We liked it there.

We also like the Listel, and love Sutton Place and it's connected timeshare type place Le Grande Residence at Sutton.

Pan Pacific the night before our cruise next May looks to be sold out. Do you think they will have more rooms later?

Keep in mind that the prices are in Canadian dollars, which are currently at about $0.75 US, so that helps a little (assuming you're coming from the US.

Can this hotel hold five people in any room?

i'm not sure. We only had 4 in the room. I think the room was large enough for a rollaway bed, but I would recommend calling the hotel to ask.

It was not an inexpensive place to stay, but I recall we eventually found a decent rate that included breakfast. I just kept checking back until I found a rate that worked for us. I also signed up for their loyalty program and received emails about any promotions they were offering.

My family and I stayed at the Pan Pacific before doing a Carnival cruise many years ago. It was very convenient since it is literally the cruise terminal. I think the terminal is the very bottom floor if I remember correctly. I'm not sure if Disney uses that dock, but I'm pretty sure they would. It has been so long since I have been to Vancouver that I really don't know for sure. It was a very nice hotel though.

No a big fan of fairmont. But the Pacific Rim is very good. But Rosewood all the way in Vancouver,

Thanks for all the tips.

We went with Blue Horizon for the night before the cruise and days inn by the airport the night after the cruise. Keeping my eyes open for other options, but everything was booking up so fast I needed to grab something.
