Thanks! The sig picture was taken the old fashioned way - a fully manual film camera. Killed a whole roll hoping for the "money shot"

Sign me up - I'm a pretty serious hobby photog & I'm always looking for way to justify the expense of a 10.2 megapixel camera & assorted lenses.

Ok, I was getting worried to (like a previous poster some 5 or so pages back!) that with the number of postings to this thread... this repo cruise was so popular that it would be booked up in a matter of minutes on 1/31.
But with closer observation, there are about 6-8 people making 80% of the posts! (no I didn't do exact math like has been done here too! )

But ya gotta love chatters! I wish I could keep up!

Hey, thanks to the poster who estimated the costs of this cruise for us. I have been having some reservations as to whether we should be spending this kind of money on a 2 week trip but, heck... I'm determined to make it work somehow. I was really hoping for around $7500 but I think that especially adding in plane flights, excursions, and the usual stateroom charges, I better be prepared for $10K. Ouch. Hope my DH doesn't ask!

OK...I am a member of the DIS Geeks so I will try to explain our group. We cruised together with over 200 other DISers on the 12/9/06 DD. Our group name was the DDD (December Double Dip) DIS Geeks United. As we all got to know each other over the course of 70000 posts before the cruise we discovered that we had many Geeks in our midsts...band geeks, engineer geeks, techie geeks, trekie geeks, etc. Our one common denominator was our obsession with the DIS. So we were all DIS Geeks at heart. Some of us are cruising together again 12/8/07...though many are switching to the May Repo cruise ...and that has been labeled DIS Geekorama Part 2. We were a pretty tight group...linked dining, booked excursions as a private group, and had several meets at Palo & around the ship.

The Blabbermouths are another group who have also cruised together. I do not know how many times, Stacey will have to let us know the history there.

Basically...both groups like to post & talk alot. The Geeks met in chat on Friday night when there were extra rooms and would stay there 9-1am some nights. Imagine how many posts that kept off the boards. That means that I expect this thread to be very fast moving since we are now uniting as one group for this cruise.

I knew there had to be a reasonable answer to it all... Thanks!

Sounds like the CC party might have to be held on decks 9 & 10 for this cruise, LOL!!!

That's what they did for the PC Repo in 05

SO ... multiple "0"s as in ??? as in getting the 100th, 500th or 1000th postings... or achieving personal posting counts to the thread in multiples of 100 or <gulp> 1,000? .... OR .... multiples of 10,000??? The numbers GAME ... hmmm.... is THIS the numbers game you were referring to? Or was it something else?

Why bother? Just bring them over to show off your posting count here and - as for the little tornado behind you - just show DD and DS the overall posting count and how it's jumped from 610 last nite (Friday) at 12 midnite! NOW.... there is a mess to rival the imagination!

Now... my thoughts are drifting towards guessing how much higher the running total of postings will increase the estimate on how many postings this thread will finish will come August 17th!

I'll guess the number will exceed 70,000. Anyone wanna guess otherwise?
