Yah... guess I got it - so now back to quietly catching up on whats' goin' on...

Yes but you always have to put a pirate: in it cause you Pirated the post ..

Hi Lisa!
Strange how I feel like I know you but never actually met you!
DS will be 6 next month so he will be almost 7 1/2 by the time we cruise again. :cool2:

Our youngest DS will be 7 when we cruise together ...Yeah

pirate:

And you pirate: pirated the TOP of the page....another little milestone that some of us Blabbermouths celebrate.......

There is a few jokes here that I am having a hard time not saying :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

And Lisa is in Bed ...Nope , I wont do it to her ....:thumbsup2

Hey great!
I have to tell you... my DS (5 now) was not so happy with his somewhat brief experience with the kids club on our last cruise... (Just last month) because he couldn't believe how many kids were "out of control" and didn't listen to the councelors! He got frustrated and wasn't having as much fun as when he was in the 3-4 year old group when we first sailed. I am definitely interested in finding kids his age to "pre"introduce him to so he can make friends, be ready to have fun and not worry about the rest.

Also looking for DDs around 11-12 for my DD to make friends with... Man, did that work out well on our last cruise! (Kids happy=parents happy!!)

Thats good to hear .....Lisa was going to set up a website for this cruise , she did this last cruise and it had pictures of the Familys and kids so other kids could see who there DIS buddies would be ...My oldest DS will be 16 when we do the PC cruise but at this point it is unclear if he will be able to go due to Football ...But we are doing his deposit just in case ...He may not want to play Football then or maybe he can work something out with the coach ...

pirate:

OMG :scared1: I just realized I said Dylan was going to be 16 ....Oh do I feel old now ...

I might not be able to go now ...He is going to want a car

Wow do they grow fast :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I have a feeling this thread is going to move fast all the way thru. There are members of the Blabbermouths and the DIS Geeks onboard and we all like to gab. :)

arg-pirate-ship-black-flag-207x165-url.gif

Can someone enlighten this newly minted pirate pirate: - as to who exactly are the "Blabbermouths" and "DIS Geeks"? I was wondering if this might not refer to ALL of us who might end up among the frequent posting folks ... and as to DIS Geeks... who are they really supposed to be?

Cheers?:confused3

I have spoken with someone at DU and this is basically what they told me so I am passing it on to you. Please trust that this is a very reliable source. I took notes.

The basic answer is yes – any reservation booked or transferred to DU is automatically eligible for their current promotion. Anyone who books with them or transfers to them will get that SBC.

Folks can transfer their reservations now and have DU take care of switching these to a new sail date on 1/31 or they can do it themselves and switch it at that time.

If you want DU to do it for you, you have to authorize them to make the change beforehand without getting a price first. Remember what happened the last time? People asked for pricing which they provided then they wanted to switch an existing cruise reservation to that booking but DCL wouldn’t let them. Then when DU tried to move the existing cruise in they found the rate had changed and the price went up. DU wants to avoid that happening this time so they are asking all their clients to either authorize the change upfront or acknowledge that the quote they provide may not be valid for a transfer later that day.

If someone is able to get up and be on the phone when these are released, they might be better off doing the switch to the repo cruise themselves then transfer to DU later that day when they have exactly what they want.

I hope this helps to reassure people and avoid problems down the line.

Thanks for the info here - it's good stuff and gives me pause to consider in how I want to handle this...:surfweb:

From the Med Repo

Category Rates:
1 $5,999 - $6,699
2 $5,699 - $6,399
3 $5,199 - $5,699
4 $4,099 - $5,099
5 $3,799 - $4,699
6 $3,799 - $4,599
7 $3,699 - $4,499
8 $2,999 - $3,999
9 $2,699 - $3,899
10 $2,299 - $3,599
11 $1,999 - $3,499
12 $1,999 - $3,399

Third, Fourth and Fifth Guests Age Requirements: Rates:
Under Age 3 $309
Ages 3-12 $1,099 - $2,799
All other $1,199 - $2,799

This is just for an idea.

So...

If we know a catagory 11 is gonna be = $1699...
And a transatlantic CAT 10 is 15% more then I would estimate a PC CAT 10 will start at $1999 ~ $2099
And a transatlantic 9 window is 35% more than an 11 - then I estimate the PC CAT 9 will start at $2299
A transatlantic veranda CAT 7 - it is 80% more then an 11, so I estimate the PC CAT 7 will start at $2999 ~ $3099
A transatlantic catagory 4 is slightly more then double the price of an 11 - so I'd guess the PC CAT 4 will be $3,499

And as for the 3rd and 4th PAX, the PC cat 11 is 85% of the Transatlantic rate - so I would estimate the price range on 3rd and 4th PAX at age range 3-12 will be $899 ~ 2399
And 3rd and 4th PAX above age 12 under the 85% assumption would range from $999 ~ $2399.

Of course... these are simple interpretations (educated guesses) which still exclude port and taxes.

Our thread had been open 4 days -- 300 posts

At our current average of 75 posts a day
Approximately 576 days until we repossess
That would create us 43,200 posts.

math-rotation.gif

MATHamatician ALERT!

So... this thread has been going for about 6 days and almost 10 hours.
So that is 6.4167 days and we have 610 posts...
that averages out to 95.0 posts a day...
and with an estimated 573 days to go ....
we would have 54,475 posts by embarkation day!!!

OK... I am now quitting for the nite on trying to catch up on the thread. It's just after midnite in California and this is my limit tonight. I have been reading BACKWARDS and reached back to #300 which is almost HALF of the whole thread... I think it was page 22. I'll try to get completely caught up this weekend.... maybe. pirate:

 Just wanted to pop in and say good morning crew.

Hope everyone has a nice enjoyable weekend!!!:goodvibes

Good morning all!

Okay, my in-laws are coming for the weekend, and DS has 2 hockey games today....so I promised DH it would be a REPO free weekend! (I think he is getting worried that I won't be ready for our upcoming Eastern if I don't get over my latest Repo obsession!! pirate: )

So I have promised to give it a try........after this post of course:rotfl:

Have a good weekend! (I may stop in briefly....if I happen to be by the computer.....and no one is around.....and it happens to be turned on.....and the link is in my favorites.........)

As long as I can snag a room we will be on this Repo. Cruise. We are celebrating our 20th anniversary on DCL Dec. 2007 so the Med Repo was just too close to Dec. to be able to do both. Aug. 2008 looks wide open!;)

Honestly, you don't look old enough to be celebrating 20 years! Wow, how exciting. Will you plan a special ceremony?

Hello Everyone :wave2:
I feel a little late to the party. :chat: This cruise would include me ( Tina ) DH and DD who will be turning 15 on cruise. I didn't even think about the repo in 2005 quite honestly. It didn't match our schedule with school and looking at all those sea days in a row made my head a little dizzy but I was glued to the computer living through everyones reports .:goodvibes

I know the experts can help me with my many questions...........This will be my 5th Disney cruise but I am not familar with the transfer process or DU. I have a dummy date booked thank goodness.........and would like to transfer that for this cruise and still get my 10 % on OBC. Not sure how does that exactly works. I haven't put a quote in yet to DU should I? I would be able to call DCL on Jan. 31st. Thanks and looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing some people I have cruised with in the past.:)

So did I get 600th?

Yah... guess I got it pirate: - so now back to quietly catching up on whats' goin' on...

Well -

- actually, in an honest to goodness effort to resume being "neighborly"... I'll edit this into my last posting so as not to "pad" my posting tally...

Now... I kno IBGRAVES counseled to let the TA handle it.... but this very question has been vexing me a bit. As I am wondering whether I should transfer my exisitng Reservation I rebooked while aboard recently to a TA to manage for this PC booking. I wonder whether I should get up at 4AM California time to try and manage it myself or risk a TZ handling 10 or 100 cabins who then may have to pick and choose hwo they will allocate their resources. I'm not accustomed to delegating much sometimes.

Now - I still want to eventually transfer my Reservation to a TA who will provide me with an additional cabin credit (like DU)... and I have another TA I've used in the past but am having difficulty relocating. And - I think since my other TA relocated she may not have the kind of flexability as she used to have.

So I guess I am getting a little anxiety over how I should handle the booking on this... do I let the TA do it or do I wing it on my own then transfer it after the 31st?

Any further thoughts folks beyond IBGRAVES remarks quoted below???

Once you guys get into the swing, the only true pirates will have 3 0s in them....1000, 2000, 3000.... pirate:

Regarding the TA, you have had a lot of experience booking cruises and know just what you want. I would say the same that I am doing for my advice to you. I will be on the phone myself. :)

BTW...since this is the beginning of a long & fun cruise meets thread...my ID is LBGRAVES...my initials. :)

My spouse and I will be celebrating our 55th wedding anniversery on the cruise... (42 years and 10 days early.... heh-heh-heee) .... and seriously, this year we'll mark our 23rd (or 24th) year since our first date!

i9F0AFAD4-6476-4B1C-814C-6688841F79ED.jpg

Here we are with my spouses' parents in Hawaii about 3 weeks ago. They really have a 50th anniversey coming up soon!

Today, I have breakfast with an old pal to pass along eBay proceeds (I sold his pair of Laker / spurs tickets for $550 so he's buying)... then I have Karate for my older daughter just before noon today. Otherwise... it's gonna be a day of "honey-doo" chores... I'm sure!;)

Lisa: Do you know If I make my own reservation with DCL if I could then just call DU on the 31st and have them transfer it so I could get the extra OBC. You can only get the extra OBC with DU on Jan. 31st. right ?:confused3

captaincrash: Lovely pic of your family.:)

Thanks...

... thanks for the compliments in spite of the clown in the back harassing the little girl! And yeah... I'm beginning to drift towards the realization that a non-delegating swabby like me is probably gonna want to control everything on my own... for better or worse. THEN try and transfer the rexxie to DU for the on board credit. pirate:

And.... L - B - G ... I must beg to differ... the ONLY TRUE Pirates on the Seven Seas will most certainly NOT have 3 "0's" in them... the only T-R-U-E Pirates with "Swashbuckling Take what you can get!" souls are those who will eventually have the August 17th, 2008 countdown ticker in their siggys, EH MATE?!?!??!!!!! Arrrgh!!!!

That is... (on the THREE "0's" thing) ... assuming you're not counting what we all are paying for this voyage! <chuckles>
