Just got in from work....I have to say, I am alittle bummed. I really still don't have an amount without knowing he cost for the kids......well, I will try and stay positive!

Okay....does everyone know each other on this thread except me?? It seems like you all have cruised many times together! Any room for a newbie? I promise to get caught up on my pirate lingo!!

Lisa, New thing for me..but the Captian said i must. Finally figured how to do it added it from the computer. Imagestation wouldn't keep the smaller size that i uploaded.

Any other ideas. I would like it alittle bigger so it can be read.....

I guess I'm what you'd call a "newbie" too. I cruised the Mexican Riviera with Judy, but we didn't know each other then.
And so far, I only "know" some of the others from chatting on the DIS. Can't wait to finally meet in person!

Don't forget we were all newbies at one time! There are some I've only met here and not in person. Can't wait to meet them! And there are others that because of the DIS have become friends! and have yet to cruise with them and others that I have cruised with and hope to continue to do so!

Welcome, newbies!!! There were over 200 DISers on the 12/9 cruise. We booked the 12/8/07 to cruise together again but now are splitting up for the repo cruises. I have cruised with Todd (DisneyVegas1), Mike (dhchrisva...or as DS & DD read it "duh chris va"), Brack, Dody (Tinkerbell), and Caroline (pyramid2000). I have "talked" with many others here on the boards since I joined back in 2/03 getting to know each other along the way.

The Take what you can! Give nothing back! developed out of a late night chat session with the group. Todd suggested/dared us that if he were to yell out Take what you can! in the dining room...or where ever we may be on the ship...we were to respond with Give nothing back! We did it a few times during the course of the cruise...the best being when he entered the dining room as the Captain after having a hissy because his costume malfunctioned. (Have your replaced the monkey head yet?)

LOL ...It was my Monkey's claw not head and the reason it broke was it was made from ressign and it had fell on the bathroom floor while trying to get ready , Melissa and I tried to get it glued back together but it wasnt working ....Now I am having it remade from the same cast but out of rubber instead of ressign... And from now on Pirate Night I have to leave myself at least 3 hours or more to get ready ...So I really hope that on the next two cruise's we are not in port the day of Pirate Night so I can have plenty of time to get ready ....I really wanted to go in the dining room with all me crew ...well at least we will have the chance to do it all again ...lol

I have spoken with someone at DU and this is basically what they told me so I am passing it on to you. Please trust that this is a very reliable source. I took notes.

The basic answer is yes – any reservation booked or transferred to DU is automatically eligible for their current promotion. Anyone who books with them or transfers to them will get that SBC.

Folks can transfer their reservations now and have DU take care of switching these to a new sail date on 1/31 or they can do it themselves and switch it at that time.

If you want DU to do it for you, you have to authorize them to make the change beforehand without getting a price first. Remember what happened the last time? People asked for pricing which they provided then they wanted to switch an existing cruise reservation to that booking but DCL wouldn’t let them. Then when DU tried to move the existing cruise in they found the rate had changed and the price went up. DU wants to avoid that happening this time so they are asking all their clients to either authorize the change upfront or acknowledge that the quote they provide may not be valid for a transfer later that day.

If someone is able to get up and be on the phone when these are released, they might be better off doing the switch to the repo cruise themselves then transfer to DU later that day when they have exactly what they want.

I hope this helps to reassure people and avoid problems down the line.

Trying to get caught up here. It started snowing here this afternoon and our DD had a dentist appt at 4:30. My DW doesn't drive in the snow, so after work I had to take DD to the dentist, then we stopped for a quick bite at Wendy's on the way home.

This indeed looks like one FUN group!!!

Not sure how I missed this thread last week, but add me to the list of hopefulls.

I guess many of us are just repo fools. I see many that I will be sailing the Atlantic with this August. Then we'll all be together again next August.

My parents are also thinking about joining this cruise. I hope they do because they will spring for a verandah so we'll get to see some daylight! Alas, my budget only allows me to stow away in the inside cabins.

Yea, my mom is mean like that, she said it was a beautiful, sunny, warm day, in her part of Florida. BTW, if the roles were reversed, I'd be doing the same thing to her!!!

I felt sorry for your son having to be the messenger to tell the rest of us that his Dad wasn't happy and broke something because something was missing and he threw it across the room. Hopefully Pirate night will be before formal night for you...or rather Melissa's sake.

OMG Todd I am going to have to rework the numbers frantic frantic LOL You guys have been posting like crazy! Hey when I was around earlier noone was here to talk to so I yapped at myself for awhile and then Todd snuck in and did a pirate thing and chased me off.

Stacey I thought you bailed because didn't you start another thread? Was that for this summer? No can't be---- they are in Europe. I am so glad you are in. I love Stacey's personality. (Sarcastic like mine)
BTW lisa I miss the guy scratching his chin on the first page of smilies. Where did he go?

Jackie and others ---please PLEASE don't feel left out just jump in there now. Put yourself out there. I don't know personally anyone but Stacey however I feel like I do just from being around the boards. It s funny but I honestly feel like we have a high quotient of super nice people on this cruise. It is so cool. You kind of get a feel for people over the years. Everyone I recognize on this cruise is known for being polite friendly and welcoming. I like that.

Just got off the phone with my mom (no teasing this time), she thought it over, and she decided she would like to join us for this cruise, as long as we don't have any major calamities(sp) between now and cruise time!!!

I guess I had better see about getting some overtime in at work.
