Free Old Country lunch for kids on snow days

It's a snow day so there's no school lunch, but there's a free meal for children ages 12 and younger, with paying parents, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. today at both the local Old Country Buffet restaurants, says Jim Peterman, community service representative for the restaurant chain.

Old Country has two locations, at 3179 Erie Blvd E., DeWitt and 3667 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Old Country has had the policy for two years to help parents out on snow days, Peterman said. There's no more than two children per paying parent, he said.

What's up with that? School's closed because you can't drive? So this place gets a good image by offering, but they won't be losing any money because no one can get there.....guess they're smarter than I thought.

And it's not really helping anyone. Because if someone really needs the free meals because there is no school- they aren't going to have the money to pay for ADULT meals to get the free kids meals! What a scam.

Although this did just make me hungry for OCB. Think I'll just go to the Chinese buffet though -- it is closer.

My hubby's work used to call OCB the "Pigatorium". They used to go every Friday until one of the co-workers dropped dead from a heart attack after eating there. True story.

Stick with the Chinese food if you want to make it 'til cruise time.

She is getting better slowly, thank you, the pain is getting worse, but I think that is a good sign as everything mends up, back to school Monday.
