I am playing nurse today as well, but my patient is of the 4-legged variety. Our 13 1/2 yo dog, Beau, had been acting out of sorts lately.

Lots of prayers and pixie dust headed your way for you and your 4-legged patient. My cat was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure last spring and *ugh* it was not a good 4 days of tests and waiting. However, it has been almost a year and she is just about back to normal. Off all meds except 1/8 of a Pepcid each evening for kitty heartburn and sub-q fluids every 3 days. Thankfully she has responded well as I didn't respond to well at the inital news.

Ketchup time . . .

OK.....

Is that the same as people from new york ordering..

CWWOFFEE.

Sorry people in NYNY so good it was named twice!

Sure, everyone in NYC talks like the Sopranos just like everyone in London sounds like Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady (before her speech lessons!) . . .

My girls can never believe what the stereotype for a "New York" accent is (like the MGM studios shop "Youse Guys Moichendise") because no one they know sounds remotely like that . . .

Thank you everyone, for your positive thoughts and comments for Beau's recovery! :grouphug:

Your DD actually said she wanted nothing for dessert? Wow! I couldn't keep DD or DH from dessert, and they don't usually eat sweets.

My kids always order nothing or anything or something for dessert. This is what they got!

Growing up in Queens, everyone I knew had the "NY accent" - and then, of course, there is the Brooklyn accent.

My grandparents were originally from Harlem (back in the 20's/30's). I remember watching old gangster movies with actors using that accent and asking my grandparents if people really talked like that, and they said not quite to that degree, but yes some did.

The Blue Bayou is so cool! The great thing is to get a table right by the water where the boats are floating by. It is definitely your kind of place Captain!

It would be great fun to meet there. You can count us in!

Thats great .....How many of you would be coming ...I am going to keep a head count ...

I've stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and it was very nice. They had a shared shuttle with 2 next door hotels and it ran every 30 minutes. I ended up there on a priceline bid. I wouldn't choose to stay there because I prefer to be closer, but I wouldn't be disappointed if it came up on a priceline bid again.

The Hilton at the Convention Center is one of the Mousesavers.com preferred hotels. But I haven't stayed, so I can't comment.

thank you!

I did look into the Garden Inn, but feel the same way about it not being close....thanks for the Mousesavers info - I have to start reading those emails with this trip in mind!!!!:thumbsup2
