Good Morning Everyone:surfweb:

Hope everyone stays warm today!

MR - I hope your daughter:sick: is feeling better.

We here in Williamsburg, VA are bracing on getting another cold snap (20 degrees) Everyone panics down here and all the grocery shelfs are empty. If we get one to two inches of snow everything closes down. I along with several others beings from the Central New York area and the northeast (I am from Syracuse, NY right smack in the middle of lake effect area, just south of Fulton, Mexico and Redfield(who now holds the record of 12' of snow in one week and is expecting another 2' by tomorrow am).

Reenieny18(my sister:hug: ) in North Syracuse lost heat last night I hope you get it back soon!

Andy - keep warm today (I am sure hot chocolate will be waiting for you when you get home today.)

Lisa - once again you are doing a great job.:cheer2:

To everyone who answered my question regarding where to stay in CA before the cruise. Thanks for all the information. I know I can depend on my fellow disers for info. I can't wait to meet you all.:grouphug:

Stay warm today and talk to you later!!!

Morning all!

Happy Birthday Katie and Joel!

Like Andy, I'm sitting here and waiting for the snow, sleet and/or rain to start.

So I'm here at work getting caught up on what's happening. One thing leaps out at me, naked rugby on CC. OK, what ever floats your boat. I do have one word of advice for those, "players". SUNSCREEN!!!! I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that most of you have areas of your body that have not seen the sun in a number of years.

Now, who you are going to get to apply the sunscreen is for you to figure out. However if you do not liberally apply it, I dare think a number of us will be :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: whatching you walk later that evening.

Ok, I got to go earn a paycheck so that I can pay for this little adventure.

Morning !
Andrew I have a question for you. In all the ports we visit, is a tender needed for any of them and is it difficult to get in and out? I ask this as I read on another thread a long time ago that there were some that couldn't leave the ship as they were physically unable to get in the tender. Since I have never had to do this, I was just wondering! Thanks.

It is snowing here for now. They say it will turn to a wintery mix by noon, then rain by this evening. Poor kids, they just want a chance to play in the snow.

Everyone keep safe!

I don't share your faith in the Mouse, mainly b/c I had two rooms "linked" in December (booked both at the same time) and found out later on they were not linked together. (We learned this when we got the letter from DCL saying I could book 90 days out but my wife could only book 75 days out.) Somewhere along the way, Disney had lost the connection between the two rooms.

I'm going to call DCL again to make sure ours are still connected and voice my concerns. Guess we'll have to keep this up for awhile huh.

Snowing here in DC....we have about an inch. Schools are open .... my guess is they will close early

I'm not Andrew, but on the 05 PC cruise we didnt tender, but then again we have 2 different ports on this one. We also didnt get to stop in Cabo due to Hurricane Hilary.

pirate: I have no idea where the conversation is now because I'm still 75 pages back, but I had to announce that I'm coming out of lurking for good!!

I GOT A CABIN!!!

I've been religiously checking the DCL website and miracle of miracles, tonight there was a cat 9 that popped up instead of the error message. So I immediately called the Castaway Club and saved my spot!

Let's not even think about how much I'm paying for only 1 adult at this point. It'll all be worth it next August. Besides, maybe I can persuade someone to come along with me by then.

Anyway, now I'm really glad I've been "wasting" at least an hour a day of my life for the past 2 weeks lurking on this thread so I don't have to go back and catch up on everything.

Can't wait to meet everyone and to get to know you all personally in the next 18 months!!

The previious poster is corect we didnt tender in last time, i have tendered at Cabo with a different cruise line and they used large, sightseeing boats to take us ashore, they are comfortable and any person with resonabile mobility would be able to get on and off, as long as the seas are ok.

The pacific is very active as previosly mentioned we were in the tail end of a hurriacian last time and becuase of high seas and tendering the port was dropped.

If you have mobility problems I would let DCL know in advance and I am sure they would make specail arrangments.

Cruise ships can tender in two different ways, either their own 'lifeboats' or the prefered local sightseeing boats.

Cabo is a very popular resort and is trying to build its own dock cabable of taking in large cruise ships, I do not know if we will be lucky by then. But Disney going there on all of its West coast cruises, and after 2005, must be happy with the local arrangements.
