And for my 2000th post , I leave you tonight with this quote from CJS ..:lmao: :lmao:

Let us examine that claim for a moment, former Commodore, shall we? Who was it that, at the very moment you had a notorious pirate safely behind bars, saw fit to free said pirate and take your dearly beloved all to hisself, eh? So whose fault is it *really* that you've ended up a rum-pot deckhand what takes orders from pirates?

pirate:

Congrats on 2000 Captain!:cool1:

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers :sunny: . Checking in from the FROZEN TUNDRA :cold: :cold: :cold:

Time to get caught up....again :surfweb:

Good Morning All!!!!

I like needless posting, but some of the mods tend to frown on it. I guess we are OK unless we get a warning from them.

BTW, anyone know if Mark&Mary will be on this cruise?

:figment:

i-know-nothing.gif

Now...

... I acknowledge you admit to LIKING "needless posting"... but I am wondering about this thing where a moderator "frowns" on it? I thought this area was for less defined conversation... as opposed to the threads where a specific purpose is declared.

I.E., if the topic of the thread is to say... post what cabin catagory you got off a guarantee res .... or which dining venue you preferred on the ship ... well... the topic is gonna be directed and relatively narrow in nature.

However, this is a cruise meet thread. That's pretty undefined if you ask me. All it takes to qualify a contribution is the reservation or intent to sail with us. Beyond that - its' a get to know thing? Right?

As such.... I am sympathetic to those unable to read one days' worth of postings in less than a day of reading! I count myself in that camp - being entirely unable to keep up! I remember last week reading stright through and noting that I was getting no closer to the END of the thread! IE... postings were being made FASTER than I could read! Thats' pretty outrageous... and entertaining at t he notion of so much EXCITEMENT going on with our voyage!

But I think - short of rude or inconsiderate behavior - all comments should be welcome! Folks generally should feel welcome to get to know others in what-ever manner they choose. I don't think there was a sticky defining a handful of narrow exercises for cruise meet conduct. Rather, we do have a penalty system in place for handling TOS violations, conduct abuses and inconsiderate conduct in general. Which I applaud as an overdue mechanism for maintaining some sense of civility here.

I hope I did not come across as a loose cannon. I imagine some might consider my contributions as superficial or silly... but this is how I like to contribute to the conversation. I enjoy humor - and it's not easy finding an image that has any connection with what I want after having read someones' posting. So - for me the hunt for an image is half the fun!

At any rate... there it is.

Cheers!

Shelley, we had lime green rubber bracelets last time with the group name & date on them. I am going to find out what would be involved with getting them done for this group. You can wear them all the time & not get in the way.

They definately were the best thing to have. It was so easy to spot someone and they are an awesome momento.:goodvibes

Hey all - as we get closer to sailing, if anyone wants any specific info or wants me to do a drive-by (the good kind not the bad kind of drive-by) of a specific hotel - let me know. If I can help anyone in this matter then I've helped family. - As most of you know - the surrounding area is unindated with hotels, motels, convention centers and such. In fact there are some pretty good ones and soe that you couldn't get me to touch. Id be happy to help and render an opinion or even digital shots. Hope this helps :thumbsup2

Aww, that is so nice of you, Laura. I just may take you up on that.

I am definately going to head out a week early. I want to do DL and SW, but then I was thinking I'd love to take a trip up to wine country. I have always wanted to do that. :scratchin Maybe I'll head out two weeks early :goodvibes

So, I made a CD of cruise music for my kids (umm, yeah, the kids). Last night they were playing the CD & I began to hear the 9 second DCL ship horn, over and over and over again. I walked into their room, and before I could say anything, DS8 looked at me and said "I put it on repeat." :lmao:

Yeah, DH is totally blaming me.

WOW!!! What a busy thread!! We've been busy busy busy too!! We're in a whirlwind of crazy adoption stuff this weekend! We're trying to get the homestudy stuff finalized so that we can get started!! It's a CRAZY amount of red tape and I have BIG headache right now. :headache:
But it will all be worth it we have a new addition to our family!! :cloud9:
I so need sleep, but I cannot wind down...I decided to stop in here and see how things were going...Looks like a couple of BIG milestones.
Congrats everyone for getting past 10000!!! :dance3:

I did a little bit of quick glancing/catching up, and one thing that I wanted to comment on is that whatever we do with the t-****s :rolleyes1 thing, count us in! DPartner thinks I'm nots with the whole DIS thing, but I'm having fun!! I want the iron-ons!!! I'm a good iron-on-er!!! :thumbsup2

OK, I suppose it's really time to try and sleep. Lots to do again tomorrow, or today...or whatever it is...LOL
G'Night!

:grouphug: and :wizard: that all goes well for you!

Somehow I missed that. I wouldn't have done it anyway, because that sounds like 'exercise', but I don't recall that being set up. Was it a 'girls only' thing or were you just excluding me?

Actually, it was the 2004 10 day, not the most recent one. I don't think I did a single lap on the 2006 one, which would explain the 8lb weight gain ;)

Things are totally different on the meets threads. :) Here we can chat, joke, and plan while getting to know each other before the cruise. Mark & Mary are not going on this cruise. I think they are doing an Eastern in April?

Don't worry, I'll let you guys know if you need to tone things down. ;)

Let me guess...

Mark and Mary have a reputation for spreading it fast and furious on a thread all by them-selves? Right? Or something that approximates this sort of conduct??

Mark is on the right... and the other Mary is on the left? Right?

But do the Cuffs match the Coller?:rotfl2:

Why, of course!

In this image you can see the lime green color and pattern of the blouse - and indeed the cuffs matxh not only the collar but the hair as well!

Hi, I'm Paula, my family will be joining you crazy people on this pirate cruise! I refuse to go back and read all messages so I'll pop in occassionally to say hi :-)

Paula
New Zealand

:welcome: Welcome, Paula all the way from New Zealand:welcome:

Jump on in....don't worry, nobody can keep up with this crazy group

DS AT ACAPULCO DOLPHINS from Repo 2005
ACADOLPHIN001.jpg

That place looks awesome! We were going to do the dolphins in Cozumel I believe, But opted for the infamous jeep tour led by our captain. This place looks very, very nice. We have so much planning to do.

I am going to sit here and catch up, no matter what the price! Sorry for the "old" responses. popcorn::

I don't think I have enough time to even attempt this approach to catching up! Maybe after my spouse gets back from her business meeting thursday I'll get some time to try catching up!

TIl then it will be a checker board approach for me... :confused3

 ..the green hair lady is very hard to take early in the morning...

 ,crashman!

:welcome: , paula too!!!!, new zealand ,was a place i wanted to go..

I actually managed not to gain any weight. It is possible I have reached critical mass and can no longer expand.
