You are close ... Wed was the first day on the phones for several CMs fresh out of training ... the CM I had was one of them, and I must say she did a stellar job (especially being a newbie).

I just got off the phone with a CM at DCL. We talked for close to an hour about this cruise & the problems on Wednesday. When I asked her how long she had been on the phones, she asked why. When I asked if she was in the training class that started Wednesday she said "How do you know about that?" :lmao: I laughed & told her the DIS boards know all. :lmao: :lmao: She said that they (the CMs) didn't expect the Repo cruises to be so crazy because the Med cruises weren't like that. (She was not there in 2004 and noone has talked about how hectic things were for that repo with booking so they had no clue it could happen.) They just figured that people aren't interested in 14 days on the ship so expected the MR cruises to go quickly and were surprised that they didn't. I told her the thoughts on the boards about them being too expensive & that we have been posting on the thread since 1/13. She is going to check this place out. :flower3: HELLO! One thing that she did tell me during our discussion of what DCL could have done to make things better for everyone is that they are now only allowed to waitlist people for cats 1-3. They are not able to take a WL for anyone in the system anymore for any other categories. She said that people were calling & booking as many rooms as they could get using one family member in each room. She said that they are going to be surprised when they call back to change the names around because if they take that person out of the room & try to put new people in there, it is going to cancel the original reservation & charge them the current rate. So there will be lots of rooms opening up as time goes on. Caroline, when you read this, I asked about your case if your DH can't go and you have to switch the two girls into your room & she said that will be fine. It is when everyone in the room is changed that it is going to change the price after the deposit has been made. :thumbsup2

Glad to see the rooms are opening up. Thought they would after the multiple bookings were cancelled. sounds like a party on the 2nd deck.

Oh, the reason I called was to see if anything was open on deck 7 but nothing yet.

Its so amazing that they do not learn from past experiance,

Stagger the release of cruises
Any repo will be mad
Only take advance requests for CATS1/3 and one per person per year?

Thanks for the update, Lisa. I tried to call today to talk with supervisor about my waitlisted room for this trip. Here's hoping!! Personally I was pretty amazed with the numbers for this cruise. Many folks only get 2 weeks of vacation a year. The last Panama crossing was too expensive for us, but we'll find a way this time . . .LOL

Gotta catch up on all missed this AM .. .actually did school and came to the kid's art class .. .

I was told this exact same thing before ressies opened up, and I can remember thinking that can't be right :confused3

When I made my booking on-line around 8:40am, all I could get was the late dinner seating. I really hoped for the early dinner seating. I am hoping that I can change our dinner seating to the earlier time slot (we have young kids). I called the reservation number and they said that they would include a note with my reservation. She told me that I would find out if our seating can be switched when I board the cruise. I am afraid that my request will get lost over the next 18 months. Any advice? Should I keep calling?

If you link dining with the DIS group you will know before you board what your seating will be. :thumbsup2 Early will have 6 pm and late looks like will be at 8 pm. Last cruise I was able to have all of the WLE people switched to early at the 90 day point once final payments had been made.

Hello, everyone.

We're officially including ourselves in this cruise thread.

We have a gty CAT 11 as it stands. We're Me (31) and DS (11). He's excited about the teen program. We're traveling with my parents as well. No one in my family seems as excited as I am about this trip. I see this is a VERY active thread. I won't be able to keep up with all the posts, but I'll hang around a bit. I'm generally a lurker, as you can see by my post count. I've been on the dis for 3 years and I have less than one hundred posts!:lmao:

Well, good day to all!

I was taught an interesting lesson in humility last night by my 10 yo DS. We were chatting and I asked if he'd told all of his friends at school about the cruise. He said no, that he just hadn't mentioned it. I told him that I was practically running up to strangers on the street to tell them all about it because I was so excited.

He said to me, "Mom, no one likes a bragger you know." Ok, lesson learned ...

:lovestruc Sweet kid! :) DS gave a presentation with a photo program to his class after our 12/9 cruise. At the end someone asked him how much a trip like that costs. He said "about a million dollars." :lmao: His teacher emailed me about it and said it made her laugh. A friend called later that night to ask if I had an extra million that I could lend her so they could go. :lmao:

I'm hoping this means congratulations....but I don't see anything new in your Sig yet.

Aha! See I'm not the only one who can't always see the sigs! It must be something screwy with my computer but if I look at a post the sig won't be there, but if I refresh suddenly it will show. Only the white ones though. :confused3

Anyway, I finally caught up since I've been in & out for the last couple of hours. I know this is old news but when I saw Andy's post I freaked out. My mother used to live in the villages but moved the next town over into a trailer in Summerfield. My sister lives in a house nearby to help care for her. Anyway, I couldn't get through on the phone. All I got was a message saying "Due to an emergency in the area...." I ended up calling my sister in Sarasota & she was able to speak to my sister this morning before the phone lines went kaputz & they are okay.

My thoughts go out to anyway who lives in the area or who has family in the area. I hope all is well!

Lisa -- How do we go about linking our reservation to the DIS group? I would really like the 8 PM slot. We have been at 8:30 PM the last two cruises. Although I prefer late seating, I kept wishing it was just a bit earlier . .
