Angelina just announced that she was asked to go to the Senior Prom, in May, with the boy(Frank) that she sang with in a school talent show when they were in second grade. Frank told Angelina last night that he wanted to ask her to go with him last year, but he was to nervous to ask her. It's a shame because neither Frank nor Angelina wound up going to the prom last year. Frank and Angelina have known each other since pre-school. In fact, Angelina just told me that she and Frank were married :bride::groom: on the school playground when they were in Kindergarten............Somehow, I never got wind of that wedding.........:rotfl:

If anyone is interested, I was in the Target the morning and they had a bunch of Pirate themed stuff in the $1 aisle, including pack of pirate guys (little plastic pirates similar to green army guys), coins, banks, etc. along with a pocket Dummies Guide to Spanish, Mickey Mouse pads with magnets for fridge.

The pirate stuff might be good for fish extenders.

My understanding is that you have 15 or 20 minutes of "training" to use the zipline, and then the actual ziplining is about 45 minutes or so (depending on how long your group takes to get it done!). So Laurie, I believe you would only be hanging out without your family for an hour or so, and I am sure you could be in Pancho's or swimming during that time.
I just got the message that the 11:00 is fully booked:sad2: The next one available would be 1:00:confused3 At least we will overlap a bit:) maybe:rolleyes:

Thanks for the timeline, I don't mind waiting an hour for them to finish:)

So, on my daughter.... I took her to the doc yesterday on account of her tossing her cookies in the morning. The DOc said it's viral so no meds. Just give it time as it should run its' course in 3 days... if not then on monday the fever and symptoms should persist and they'd like to see her again to do some lab work. As it turns out she was becoming more of herself late last nite - and this morning shes' still asleep but feels normal in temperture. If she awakens normally she's gonna be hungry and ravenous. I've already stocked the fridge with her usual favorites - not that we're ever lite on any of the kids' favorite things 'round here.

As for me... still occasional coughing now... I think Ithink I'm getting better but its' been a slow and truly annoying process.

I don't know how much I'll be catching up on today. If things go well this morning then I wanna take the family out fer a nice brunch. We found a place we really wanna try "in town"... only the older daughter has to be well enough. Also, there had been some mention of going skiing today IF the older girl was well enough. I don't realy ski anymore... I just take pictures from the lodge and drink tons of hot cocoa. So there is even a remote possibility we'll do that or maybe seek out snow just to throw snowballs. It's maybe an hours' drive to reach the snow and a rare treat for us. hence I may miss the pirate run if we don't pick up the pace soon. :surfweb:
Lots of hot cocoa:thumbsup2 Cures everything:goodvibes
And don't worry about the pirate run, you can try for the next one:rolleyes1

As an illustration of what a non-sports type person I am, I have no idea what any of this means. :lmao: :lmao:

I had three friends in collage insist that if I just understood the rules in football that I would be able to enjoy a football game:rolleyes: Each one tried, each one failed
Only time I can watch a football game is if I have money riding on the outcome.

Dang, if only they were the regular size guys...

With our switch from the cat 6 down to the cat 9 we are paying about $5800 for the 3 of us without insurance or transfers. This was less than what was posted on the DCL website when I priced it out that way before I had our TA make the switch about 2 weeks ago. Also, this was about $3000 less than the price I was quoted on Jan 31 for a cat 9.

Lorri,

Am I reading this right? The cat 9 is about $3000 less than on opening day?
My brother really wants to upgrade to a cat 6.

I have been reading the main boards and people who have booked say the price has rocketed. I have seen prices for lower CAT rooms, at the same price as my Cat 4.

Hi

Helen's mother and her husband will be in Florida but therein lies a very long story. I promise you'll be among the first to hear:sad2:

David

Boy....... do you have me curious now!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Does anyone know if the Sams Club or Walmart next to the dock in Puerto Vallarta carry liquor (or is that against Sam's religious beliefs?).

And if they do, can we use one of the flatbed carts to get back to the ship?

Would a flatbed cart be big enough???:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Here is a question for all you Dreams Unlimited folks out there. I am really leaning towards transferring my ressie, its definitely worth it $$ wise. We have our stateroom already and we have main dining which is what we wanted. We have not made our final payment yet. We don't anticipate having to make any changes to our ressie at this point.

We have done lots of research and found lots of pros but no cons other than we will have to call Dreams if we need to make any ressie changes. Am I missing anything here? Is this too good to be true - get $$ for transferring your ressie? What does Dreams get out of offering this to customers? I am just curious, I have heard wonderful glowing reviews about Dreams and I am ready to take the plunge but DH is a little more skeptical. Any insight would be helpful. What do you guys think?

Winotracy is my DREAMS agent and she just so happens to be going on our cruise.:worship: I think the credit is fantastic.:woohoo: I am using it to pay for lots of excursions.

Not enough to pay for my bar bill!!:sad2:

Just a quick " Hello " party update will post later........

I feel like I am starting to make some progress.:woohoo: Thanks Cheryl for the heads up about flights !!! I booked our return flights.  Hey for only 120.00 per person going to Midway non-stop I couldn't pass it up. I know some of you don't like AirTran but I am happy that I have the tickets and I don't have to worry about my luggage.

Now I have to work on getting us to LA.

Well we are going at 8 AM. from O'hare on Saturday on United.;) ;)

Hi neighbor! (well, at least fairly close...)

We are also taking AirTran back - it will be our first time to fly them, but it was a reasonable price and good flight times. (We're on the l:46pm flight on Monday) I also need to get to work on getting us to LA! We will probably end up using our United frequent flyer miles - we've just been procrastinating because it seems wastefull to use them for 1-way flights (United won't allow a split itinerary with FF miles).

Do some reason, having that flight booked is making the whole trip seem more real :confused3 :thumbsup2

Looking forward to seeing y'all in March.

Pamela (pdarrah)

We did not use our FF miles from United for that reason.:sad2: I think we will use them for Europe the following year.

Looking forwaed to seeing you in less then two weeks at the house party for DCL.:dance3: :dance3:

It's 1:00 in the morning here and I'm wearing it at the moment.

The one I have is on loan from the hospital but work will pay for me to get one in the next few days as it was an incident that caused my knee injury.

David

I have had a Tens Unit for over 15 years. I still use it once in awhile for back. It was over $5oo years ago!!! My insurance covered it back when but not now. I gueass I will continue using my old Tens unit.:rolleyes1

Debi, we didn't need any vac. for the last pc in 2005.

It was sugeested to get a HEP A shot by my doctor too!!! I just bit the bullet and got one.

We missed you on chat.:flower3:

I got part of the response about PV and Walmart and Sams. Here is what they said so far.
I cannot answer for sure about gift cards, but as far as alcohol is concerned both Sams and Walmart have a pretty good selection. However, because of the Mexican taxes, the prices are more than you would pay most places in the states and certainly more than the duty-free on a ship. The only good prices are on Tequilia and other booze products made in Mexico. Both Sams and Walmart are located right across the street from the Marina and within walking distance with packages. Its probably about the same as a 4 block walk (although you can almost throw a stone from the ships to Sams) because the only exit from the port is on a side street.

Hope this answers some questions. If I get any more I will post it.

Looks like we will be taking a four block walk and Rich will have to walk back!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

DS is still in the hospital. Doc says no earlier than Monday, but probably won't even be coming home then. Sad to say, I've seen him get worse, not better, since he's been in.

Monica.....our prayers and hugs are still with you and Trevoy!!!!

We had a great time at WDW and we got a Dream. In fact, it turned into a Double Dream.

How wondrful for you!!!:yay: :yay:

Did someone say pirate: run. Quick someone go get Cheryl. :cool1:

I am here!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :woohoo: :woohoo:

That was my secret!!!!!:rolleyes1

I did a bit of research/windowshopping for emeralds today at the mall. One salesperson was totally clueless:rolleyes: But another one was very knowledgable.
He recommened choosing a loose stone when shopping in Colombia for Emeralds and to have it set back home. He said that it is easier to judge a stone when it is not in a setting and if not set properly, the stone can be ruined:sad2:
He said that a good quality emerald is not cheap. He estimated the one he had in his case (which was beautiful BTW) would be around $1800 if bought unset. It was a high end jewelry store though:confused3

When is your spring break in relationship to Easter? The most recent SB trip we took was 2006 and we went before Easter. Arrived the Friday 1 week before and stayed until the Tuesday before. Saturday wasn't too bad, but we did see an increase in crowds. But if you are staying onsite and don't mind napping during the day, the have plenty of Extra Magic Hours that help with the crowds. We found it manageable by doing everything early and late, then spending midday at the resort.

We would be arriving 3/14 and leave 3/19 so we would be gone by the Thursday before Easter. In order words, pretty dang close to Easter. Fortunately we have been so many times we can miss something if it is insane busy. I have also resigned myself to a lot of counter service meals as there will be virtaully no ADR's available.
I still have not decided 100% yet.

And don't worry about the pirate run, you can try for the next one:rolleyes1

Hey Crew -
Well, we're finally back from my parents and I have all my regular equipment back. :lovestruc

Santa left Issac (DS6) a really cool card in his stocking this year. Don't know if you remember that Issac insisted on giving Santa his card key from the Magic last year so that Santa could go on a cruise. Well, here's the reply...

Front of the Card

Inside Left

Inside Right

Jakob's (DS10) response when he was reading the card to Issac was "Dude! The Panama Canal!" He later asked if he could take it to school. Aparently the 5th grade has been discussing the existance or non-existance of Santa, and Jakob believes this is evidence - of Santa's existance. :santa:

We're having a quiet New Year at home. Frozen pizzas, beer for dad, rum for mom (Argh! pirate: ), apple cider for the under 21 crowd, and watching the AF vs Cal game (Armed Forces Bowl) that DH recorded earlier. It's 21-7 AF, so DH is pretty happy. I sneaked a look at the results online - and I fear he won't stay that way. :sad2:

May 2008 be everything you hope of it.

How could it be so terrible? We're going on a CRUISE!!

Very, very cool. :thumbsup2

I do agree '' buyer beware'' on Cartagena Columbia, we went on a Princess cruise there, and before we called there we went to Jamaica, My wife purchased a diamond in Jamaica and an Emerald in Cartagena Colombia, she is a very careful buyer, asks lots of questions, drives the shop keepers mad.

Anyway the Diamond ring in Jamaica was valued in London's Hatton garden, at a very good price, and it was a good jewel.

Even though we were told we had a good Emerald in Cartagena, we were told by the expert in Hatton garden it had too many faults and was not worth the money, and they would sell it cheaper at home.
