Before I start getting ready for work.......:guilty: I'd like to say:

"Happy New Year Everyone!!!"
2008.gif

You are in good compay Andy. I am working today too. This is our super busy time of year. Seems like everyone who worked in 2007 wants a W-2 :confused3 Go figure. ;) And, all those W2's means more special programs for Coral to program.
We are going out tonight for the 1st time in over 10 years. My older brother turned 50 earlier this month and my SiL is having a party for him tonight. Fortunately only 15 minutes away.

Happy New Years Eve!
Everyone have fun and stay safe!

Coral

Just got Kev's approval...the black and white!
  I love that one!
OK I admit it, I do as well! :thumbsup2
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

7) And for thefinal question posed in 2007 ... by popular demand.... Tell us something about you we (probably) don't know... !
I won the Gold Award in Girl Scouts. It is equivalent to the Eagle Scout award. We were the very 1st troop so we got a letter from the Presedent. That was cool. Oh yeah - and Dan Haggerty (Gentle Ben show) copped a feel on me when I was in the 7th grade.:lmao: (that was from chat the other night). I was in a parade he was in and when I went to shake his hand he grabbed me and kissed me and put his hands in inappropriate places. :scared1: Pervert! :rotfl2:

Me too. The Gold Award part, not the "groped by a D-list celebrity" part.

Why oh why am I sensing quite a bit of sacrasm in this post??? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Who me? Sarcastic?? :confused3

WE ARE IN!!!!

For the longest time, I thought I was going to cancel this cruise that I tried so hard to book. Now we just got off Magic for our first ever Xmas cruise and I was talking to DH about booking New Year cruise for 2008. So I said that what about the 15 night cruise, he said that why don't we go?!! He tought I have already cancelled it. He works A LOT even while on the ship, he racked up so much internet and phone charge while onboard for this past 7 night night trip. So I thought 15 nights will be way too long for him. I was so surprised that he loved it so much, he originally was the one totally against it saying why would he ever want to be on the ship for 7 nights, this and that....

So the next step, I would love to join the Dis group, there are 4 of us, but I can't find the place to sign up.

Thanks!!

:welcome:

Yes I saw that & I would imagine that would make more sense if I stopped to think about it, since you are not cancelling & rebooking a reservation, but just making a category change.

So weren't the cat. 9s appx. 6k for a family of four on day 1? Anybody know?

2 adults, 2 kids (8&9), Cat 9, booked by 7:50 am on 1/31/07 = $6,400

3) When you proposed or were proposed to last - what was passing through your mind silently? Anything in particular worth sharing?
When I proposed to Helen on 31-August 1990, I remember thinking "I'll have to do this again in the morning when I'm sober" :lovestruc

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Here is a pic of the dress I picked up today for one of the formal nights - the only difference is tha my dress is silver instead of gold

_5530074.jpg

Oh, I love that one!

Another lovely one!! Not too sure if I could wear that style anymore....gravity seems to have taken affect over the last few years. ;)

Two words Debi: Duct Tape.

There's going to be 2 Formal Nights!?

Yup, 2 formals, one semi formal, one pirate...just keep shopping!

With less than 6 hours until the New Year starts here in New Zealand, I just wanted to say ....

HAPPY%20NEW%20YEAR%20189.jpg

Cool. Let us know in a few hours how 2008 looks!

Lo and behold, there's a Wii connected to his TV with a note from Santa saying "Gotcha".

AWESOME!!!!

So now that I am ketched-up - what are everyone's New Year's Eve plans?

I doubt we will ever beat last year as far as a great family NYE, so we are doing our usual we-have-no-plans NYE. Fondue and Trival Pursuit until the ball drops.

DH and I have been separated for anniversaries, birthdays, Christmases, etc., but we have never, ever missed a NYE. We dated long distance for 4 years & he was gone 220 days a year for the first 5 years we were married, but we have ALWAYS been together for New Year's Eve. This year will be our 19th - more than 1/2 my life (I was 17 on our first NYE together).

I am doing laundry and grocery shopping right now...can't you tell??? Ugh. I need to get up off my butt at get something done today!

For the perpetually blonde among us, what was last NYE?

I rarely do anything, its amateur night on the roads and stay close to home. Neighbor across street having party.

Here is the dress I am currently obsessing over.

Although, ummm, I won't look like HER in it! You can't really tell from the photo, but it has little black beads all over it. If I get it, I'll wear it for semi-formal night. I tried it on last week. Price is spiraling from $450 to currently $279. If they still have my size when the price drops to $100ish, it's MINE! They don't have my size on-line, so I have to luck into it in a store (ohhh Ste-eph!;)) They had to pull my size off the manquin in the window, so after I tried it on, I asked them to put it back in the window - quick! I figure it ups the chances of still being in the store when the price drops.

Let me know when you need dd to start looking for you. ;)

Gosh this thing is slow again today :confused3

Anyway, I just bought this on Ebay for Kev. Bit pricey (50.00) but I can quit looking for it now. I figure he can wear it with his black suit.

I've been thinking (don't hurt yourself Deb!)....I don't really relish the thought of spending $70.00 to have my hair done in the spa and I'm not very skilled at doing hair and make-up. puckerup: If I were to bring my curling iron and posssibly some make-up, is there any wench that would be willing to help me out? Maybe we could have our version of a "Princess Party". princess: I'll volunteer our stateroom.

Yeah, I guess you wouldn't know, although I've mentioned chunks of it during the last 11 months! We rented a cabin in Talkeetna, Alaska & spent the day hanging out with the locals. We went sledding, played in the snow on the river, had family-style dinner with the folks staying at the Talkeetna Roadhouse, then we went to a bar/restaurant & played ping pong and pool. I love Talkeetna, I love the locals, it was just great fun. We want to retire-retire there (as opposed to military retire). It was just a really good, really low-key, but really fun New Year's Eve. And Talkeetna is so small that we didn't have to worry about driving.

Thanks! I'm waiting for the price to drop to $100-ish. I hope they will still have my size somewhere in my area.

Oh, I am so NOT girlie enough for that!

There is a reason why my hair always looks the same - it's all I know how to do!

Sounds like a fun idea though.

Yes, Roger, I noticed the 2000 mark and was saving something special for it.

A little video from Christmas morning. This should be titled "What NOT to do when you have a skull fracture!" I was so afraid he was going to hurt himself. He did have to rest for an hour before being able to play though.

To set it up, DS got a few Wii games and a note from Santa stating that his elves could not find any more Wii systems out there, so Santa would have to owe one to DS. I had been telling him for months how hard it was to find a Wii, so he wasn't too disappointed. So after all the other presents were opened, I sent DS into his room to put his games away. Lo and behold, there's a Wii connected to his TV with a note from Santa saying "Gotcha".

Not sure if DS really still believes in Santa or not. I think he really wants to, but is questioning it due to things he sees on TV and movies. I saw a thread on the Community board and many people were bashing the fact that a 12 yr old still believed in Santa. To me, kids grow up so fast these days, let them have a little fantasy as long as it will last.

Click on the picture to start the video

Pardon the messy room. That is one of the things I have chosen not to fight with DS about.

Monica, thanks for sharing. His reaction was priceless!!!! Glad to see Trevoy is doing well!

Evening everyone !!

3) When you proposed or were proposed to last - what was passing through your mind silently? Anything in particular worth sharing?
When I proposed to Helen on 31-August 1990, I remember thinking "I'll have to do this again in the morning when I'm sober" :lovestruc

For some reason this just cracked me up!!! ;)

5) When was the last time you were sick more or less? What did you comedown with?
On the Wonder during the Southern Caribbean in September 2006 I had a very bad chest infection that resulted in me hardly going out of our stateroom for two days and also me walking out of a Palo Brunch:sick:

And have thye figured out if you are better ...yet???? :confused3 Which is one of the reasons why I specifically wished you AND Helen *Good Health* for 2008!!!!

7) And for thefinal question posed in 2007 ... by popular demand.... Tell us something about you we (probably) don't know... !
I'll tell you three - 1) I have a collection of over 500 ties and wear a different one to work each day. 2) I hold the record for being the youngest ever elected Borough Councillor in Wales prior to local authority reorganisation in 1996. 3) I am qualified in Public Speaking - something I did many years ago with the English Speaking Board

David

All fo that is very interesting!!! I can't imagine where or how you store that many ties! LOL!

It took me forever to get on this thread. I kept getting an error message.

Just wanted to hop on and wish everyone a very Happy New Year. As my grandson would say, our plans are "boring". We will probably be asleep by 12:30. We are not party people. Some wine and cheese and a smooch  at midnight and it is off to bed.

I have a couple of gift certificates and a store credit so I might start looking at dresses. I love the ones that have been posted here. I did buy a short black one that should work for semi-formal night. I haven't had a formal in more years than I care to remember. And I know I will be luck to get Brett in a dark suit, much less a tux.

I have some old pictures of my parents and grandparents I will have to post once I get home (working today) so I can put them on Photobucket. I love looking at those old photos. I hope someday someone will look back fondly at the pictures I am taking of the family.

Probably for the same reason that I keep mine wacked off! ;) I don't know what to do with it.

[in a grand sarcastic voice]

Thanks Mike for noting this posting of Anderws' which I missed while I napped earlier today...

#1) This one is easy.... the red lite running I was cited for recently has yet to be divulged to my sweet spouse.

#2) Yes, I am plotting my tactics to preserve my "INNOCENT appearance" while pursuing (censured to protect the INNOCENT) diversions.... ;)

#3) Ahhh.... yes. I remember this one clearly... in my mind i was silently .. chuckling....

#4) I'd lke to exercise my 5th Amendment rights to avoid self incrimination constable. Does this mean I'm ... HONEST?

#5) Having been run my business over 20 years I'd say I have little moive for dodging work under false pretense. So, with that I'd say I've NEVER exercised a false "sickie". But if I did ... i would probably have said I had been attacked by the Rabbit of Caerbannog... Monty Pythons's Vorpal Bunny

#6) Hey this was an unmodified (repeat) question - so I'm going to apply my answer on question #1 here again.

#7) And on this question - I must exercise my cowardly reply on #4 again... < chuckles >

Bonus question = I'm gonna need a little time to sort this one out.... now when is it that we're embarking again????

THANK YOU for being a good sport! Happy New year Crash!:thumbsup2

Here's a couple more old ones of the family. I found these in my MIL's things after she passed. This is one of her at @ 8yrs old. (c.1924) Not long after she had this taken, the curls came off. I know this because I found them in a box, wrapped in tissue! I donated them to Locks of Love.

Boring NYE plans here. DS is really upset that he can't go play Laser Tag with the church youth group. So we are going to picnic on the living room floor, just haven't decided if we will have various desserts or various appetizers, play Pirates Scene It (although he's already admitted defeat pirate: ) and watch the various countdowns on TV. Not sure he'll make it to midnight. I'll probably have to let him fall asleep then wake him up at 11:45pm.

Well... I woke up today feeling 98% RECOVERED!
No more aches, almost no coughing, no sore throat!
What a great way to arrive at New Years Eve!
