Don't worry we have 15 months.....That's two tax returns away too...

and i already have hatched a plan to ask for passports for xmas.

Darn law changed! Uncle Sam was going to have to get us free (for us) passports if the original 2007 date had stuck. We didn't need passports to move TO Alaska, but we would have needed them to move FROM Alaska. Now that they changed it to 2008 for land travel we won't get our free passports. Bummer!

OK time for more sk8ingmom rationalization:

I just saved $288 on travel insurance. No, I didn't switch to Geico!
I didn't go with Disney because they don't cover the 2 most likely scenarios for us having to cancel (DH having his leave pulled or being deployed). My company was less than 1/2 Disney's price.

See, what I'm really doing is SAVING $$ not spending it.

Strange you should do that because for the very same excellent strength of the Pound against the US Dollar I've paid off about 70% of the total cost as well - using my Nationwide credit card for even better savings !!!

Name dropper! I used my HSBC card!!!!! it might get better but its one more off the list and the Fares for the flights are due September and thats in sterling, dollar might get better but I do not wish to risk it.

Where in west Texas are you? I grew up in El Paso and went to WTSU in Canyon. (before the Aggies invaded)

We Texans have that DP problem. Doesn't help that they bottle it there. When we go home every summer I love getting the diet caffeine free DP. We cannot get that here.

IC came through for me. I finally got a rep on the line and she confirmed she had a ressie that IC had booked. I got my second choice stateroom and for $1K less than I was able to book for this morning. I had her transfer my deposit and we are all set to go.

Boy am I glad this BS is over. I noticed on the DCL website that IC had made the ressie on 1/27 - why on earth couldnt they have called us and saved us all this agrevation.

I couldn't agree more!!! Then again much about what they did today just does not make sense! They could have saved themselves - and us - an awful lot of aggravation if they had just thought this through!!!!

Still nothing from my TA. I've been watching this thread all day long, but I've got to close my internet for a while. I'm becoming too bitter seeing people post about cancelling now because IC or their TA got them a booking. If I don't leave now, I'm not going to say anything nice. So as my momma taught me, I'm not going to say anything at all.

I was "waitlisted" through IC ,and got, a Category 3 for this cruise. I don't want it... I know someone who does. Can my TA transfer this cabin to them, or once I turn it down, does it go back to Disney's inventory? Thanks in advance

Judy - I'm so glad you got on the cruise. I worried about you, when I saw/read how fast the Repo's were going! Have a WONDERFUL time and we'll be with you in spirit! You'd think I'd have enough to worry about for myself - but can't help worrying about others also!
