OK, were on this cruise gty cat 11 & parents are cat 7 deck 5. I can't bear wading thro' 470 pages, so is this the official thread, or will this one close & a "real" one start with people actually on it rather than wishfully thinking (if you get my drift?)

:welcome: It is quite the thread...But lots of fun and interesting people. It's hard to keep up with the introductions. Closer to sail date, I hope we can have reintroductions for those who came in later.

By now you would have received a call from IC, Linda to be exact............

She has apologized and will get back to you as to what DCL is willing to do for all of us that got stuck in Call Waiting Limbo!

All I know is I am very dissappointed with DCL and after the Med Cruise this Summer, may be the last time I set foot on either Ship! Why they waited that long to disconnect us after they full well knew we weren't going to be talking to anybody, is beyond me!

And then trying to tell me that they did not anticipate the call volume that they received! OH PLEASE! We know they read the boards! Yes, I am bitter! I am lucky that I did go into work or else I would also be facing a day without pay! Now that would have added insult to injury!

I am waiting to here back from DCL to see what they are going to do "after they investigate timelines, etc.!

To say the least, yes I am bitter! I may now not be able to sail with friends, Old and new! Let's see if DCL does have a "Family Feel and a Heart!"

I am not being shown the Disney Love!

j

Awww Janet. I'm confident you will be happy in the end. :goodvibes

Yeah Andy!

Glad your on board. Since I found the DIS, I always enjoy reading your posts!
And all your good info.

If anyone else has small children in their group and weren't able to get main seating, let me know if you'd like to link your reservation to ours, since we were able to confirm the early dining. We have a four-year-old and seven-year-old, or at least that's how old they'll be next August.

Good Morning everyone!!!! today is the calm after the storm!!!!

:welcome: Welcome aboard to all the new mates!!!:welcome:

I am never going to be able to keep up - or remember names...wishing I had been keeping "cheat" notes from the beginning!!!!

it was a rough day yesterday - but my family sure was happy to hear it is official...I tried to explain how things went during the course of the day for everyone, but I guess you had to be watching it unfold!!! DD is just glad we are going and DH is just glad we got a decent price.......

I think Sat we are gonna watch both POC's and the DCL video.....do a little celebrating!!!! Got the recipe for Konch Koolers - that someone was nice enough to post - thank you!!!!

DD wants to start learning about the Canal and some of the ports!!! Time to visit the library. I know it is early, but I want to start researching DisneyLand - can't believe we finally have an excuse to get out to Cali!!!!

the next 18 months will hopefully go fast - with all of us passing the time together!!!!pirate:

man, I have to get something done today!!!:upsidedow

Good morning, all my pirate friends . . .

I must say I was concerned how many posts I missed overnight. I had to stop reading so I could get SOME work done (esp since I spent the ENTIRE day on the phone - as both DSs pointed out this morning! :goodvibes:goodvibes)

Last night DH suddenly was concerned that we would be sailing during hurricane season. Being from SE Virginia and surviving Isabelle and numerous other annoying wind storms, he is kind of sensative about the subject. I'm open to suggestions for soothing his concerns.

Glad to hear others are planning on the trip to DL. DH grew up in Seattle, so he has been to DL a few times. Myself and the DSs haven't made it there yet. Oh and it just occurred to me that my little sister is moving to Venice Beach this week! COOL!! Can't wait to hear ideas for DL . . . We'll probably fly out a couple days early to take in the sites and to adjust to the time.

Only 18 months to go .. . time will fly!

In the fine words of our illustrious Capt.
Ummmmm....................NO.
1. There are summaries on page 1 post 1 to catch you up
2. Why would we want to "close" this one. We have all been working hard on this for months now, where have you been your late.
3. Why do you not consider our thread to be a "real" one? Are we imaginary?
4. None of us are wishful thinking anymore. I am not sure where you are obtaining your facts.
5. NO---I do not get your drift..........

Mornin' Everyone!!

I can't post at work (if I want to keep my job that is) so I read in the morning and then after work. So we're at 470 when I leave.....what will it be by tonight!

Hi Andy! Forgot to mention last night that I'm so glad you got your 9!

Janet and jeanneg - for the record I read all day what you guys were going through and it was just AWFUL, I hope DCL makes it right!

TERRY CAN YOU COME???

Tomorrow is GROUNDHOG'S DAY (a national holiday in our house since it's DH's B-day LOL)
Have a great day all!!

Mary Rose

Yeah hurray for the groundhogs!!!!!!!Must be my new favorite holiday.

Good morning ... got myself a little bit of a quandry today. I can't quite figure out how to balance my life ... I need to work (to pay for this adventure) and be a Mom and a Wife, but that seems to put me severely behind here with you all. Here is where I state my grattitude for the updates, because if there's going to be 20+ pages of posts over night every night :confused3 Sorry, but sleep is just one thing I won't compromise :sad2:

Good moring everyone! I hope everyone has recovered from yesterday. Looks like I've got about 30 pages to catch up on. I better get reading.

Judy,

Happy Ground Hog Day's Eve!

Thank you Tina. We will have a groundhog celebration tomorrow!!!!!

OK, just got off the phone with my mom, she said by "HOOK or CROOK" she wants to remain a "WENCH" for this here cruise, even if she has to eat PB & J sandwiches for the next 18 months. :rotfl2: I think she will make a mighty good wench!!! :thumbsup2

Now you know I wouldn't let her do that!!!:lmao:

We're expecting more snow this afternoon, so I better get my tail back to work and get them meters read.

See Y'all Later

I am so glad that everything worked out well for you Andy. I am also glad Mom is in. W e will enjoy getting to know her.

I have found that reading this thread at work makes the day pass by much more quickly.:)

I plan to start my rum tolerance program this weekend. (from none to one!!)

Cheers!

Yeah, I'm thinking I want to start looking at the ports- and also researching where to fly in to Ca, transportation to the parks and a resort (?) stay for a night or two. We are only interested in doing something before the cruise- not after. We'd love to go to WDW after the cruise but we're already going to have to RUSH home because the kids are going to miss some school to do this cruise. Plus we'd rather not go thru the hustle and bustle of WDW after the cruise, we'd prefer to do it before.

So -as I utter those infamous words once again- this really IS a trip of a lifetime because I can honestly say that not only will this be the first time the kids go to DL, it will be the only time (as children anyway). there is no way I'm going to pay to go to a vacation at DL instead of WDW... so not happening. I've only been to DL once, one day when I was in the area on business while pregnant with my son who is now 9yrs old. (VERY big pregnant- like about to explode pregnant. LOL So I didn't really get to ride many rides and was only there on my feet for a few hours- so I'm not sure it even counts!) -DH and the kids have never been there. We're thinking we'll probably fly in a couple days early and hit DL (both parks) before the cruise. I don't have a CLUE about where to fly in, don't know anything about the resorts, transportation to the port (what port? I have no idea yet LOL), etc. Lots to learn before this cruise!

we have sailed around hurricanes before!!!

we left San Juan as they preparing for Hortense....the hotel was bringing down the metal curtains over the windows and had a letter at the front desk to prepare guests to ride it out.....the first morning the storm shifted and we were heading straight for it - so we changed course and dropped down behind it !!! A few days later, we did a bridge tour and saw the awesome equipment - the map charting our course - and that of the hurricane - really reassuring!

reassure your huband that the ships can easily avoid the hurricanes!!! A port may be missed ...but nothing to worry about!!!:) :thumbsup2
