Oh, how cool! Cartagena (de Indias as it's called) is supposed to be just GORGEOUS!

Now I'm doubly excited. I'm going to fire up the home computer (the one DS isn't allowed to touch this week) and see if my DU TA had any last minute questions for me.

Oh, Andy, now you really made me laugh! My mom used to say to my brother and me that we should have kids "worse than" us. I'm not so sure that my DS fits that category though he does try! And he's also on restriction this week... no computer for the rest of the week because he didn't do his reading for a book report (which was due... today). And he's on restricted DS time as well. Kids... gotta love 'em.

Now did I miss something? Are we going to Colombia on this cruise? Which port? (Of course, Panama itself used to be part of Colombia but that's another history lesson...)

Yes, I am going to spell it wrong but phonetically it is Cartaheenya. It was the setting for Romancing the Stone.

Andy

It is Colombia not Columbia.... LOL...but the rest was right

Wow...

I'm gonna have to stay on my toes now - otherwise my poor spelling skills will be revealed for all to see!

<chuckles>

Andy,

I got bad news for ya... Verandah is spelled with an "e"....

LOL.... just kidding....

<chuckles>

Crash, tonight I would believe just about anything, that's how tired I am. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I need to step away for a bit, will check back later.......

rofl

I probably would of spell it wrong if we had not gone there on vacation...

Liz

My spelling is so bad my wife gets a sore neck from shaking her head when proofing my prose (when we were students in college). And visiting there would not have helped me with the spelling...:confused3

No wait...

Verandah is really spelled with two "v"s....

well... <chuckles> .... I actually need to step away for a while too. I am stressed out - not from work, no ... not from the booking butterflies... but from the tension of trying for hours upon hours to catch up from 20+ pages behind!!! <somber chuckles>

I will indeed catch up late tonight.... maybe.

At any rate... I have to pick up my kids in 45 minutes from school/ p-school - so we'll check back in a few hours...

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN!!!!

Sorry, but 5:30 is too early. Besides, there is no way to know for sure at the 90 day mark what the theme rotation will be. Early will be at 6. Late will have to come to a decision about which time they want.

Don't be sorry - I'm worried 6 is going to be too early!!!! If we are doing "main" dining, I'm all for keeping it as late as possible.

I'm just glad someone else is going to deal with all the headaches - Thanks Lisa!

On that note - I'd be happy to check into "group rate" hotels near DL or the port for a pre-cruise meet / party once we get a bit closer and have a better idea on numbers, but I'll need some suggestions from the locals.

Oh, I know I'm hooked now... a catalog from a company I've never seen before arrived in the mail today (Soft Surroundings) and it has some gorgeous skirts in it. You know that you're in trouble when you look at something and say, "oh, that would be so nice for the cruise" which isn't even booked yet and even at that is 18 months away! :rolleyes1

Andy, Columbia is the university... Colombia is the country.

Liz, tell us about Cartagena, please!

Judy, thanks for the summary. You don't happen to work for SoapNet, do you? ;)

Hi

I have been to Bogota, Colombia which is about 2 hours from Cartegena.. and it was very beautifull do not get me wrong some of the stories you heard from Bogota is true.. but we had no trouble there..I personally learn alot of the culture.. my dh says one of these days I will get into trouble cause I could start a conversation with anyone .....:goodvibes :goodvibes .but I still keep in touch with some of the folks there .. So hopefully I could find out some more info on Cartegena..

My in-laws have been to Cartegena about 2 years ago December.. they loved it .. now this is with my mil being very particular.. she does not like the heat.. but the people and customs she loved...

Thanks so much, I think these updates should become standard. I just can't keep up. popcorn::

Thanks for my morning cry....
Believe me, it does go fast. I would give almost anything to go back and spend one day with each of mine when they were still little.
This morning, I was standing looking at my 13 yr old son, who is now nearly 5'8"....and just smiling at him......and he looked at me and said "WHAT?!" Like I'm not allowed to look at him! :rotfl:

LOL . . . I'm with you . . one day with them as little would be wonderful . . . but ONLY one day! My oldest is 12 YO and I often get the "what" . . . I keep telling DH that someday, we'll have to figure out what to do after kids . . . we only had a few months together before kids as I got pregnant almost on the honeymoon . . .LOL. It will be a new time. I just keep going back to how much I want to enjoy each day with them and live in the moment. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow will come, but for now I only have today.

Okay, I'm suppose to be catching up on the MOUNTAIN of work still overwhelming from our 1/13 cruise, but instead, I'm desperately trying to keep up with you folks . . .uuggghh! I can NOT wait until tomorrow and I know for sure we are on this cruise!

And now for dinner . . . We've done one cruise with early seating and two cruises with 8:30 PM late seating. As we live on the east coast and tend to eat late (and sleep late - the night owl syndrome), we have loved the late seating. I usually get a snack somewhere around 4 PM to hold me over (as do the DSs), but otherwise, it works so well. Since the REPO cruise will start out on the West (3 hours behind us), I may have to rethink the late dining. I'm anxious to see the actual itinerary. How many days are we in what time zone. With Aruba, we'll be moving across FOUR time zones in 15 days. Ummmmm. Better ask DH for his opinion before tomorrow AM.

Okay, I'm going back to designing websites . . .but I'll be watching . ..

I'm GOING TO HOLLYWOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(ok, it's Anaheim but still in CA)
