Txs for all the discount coupon infor.. I was able to get the discount coupon from the entertainment book... :goodvibes .. but I am also going to keep calling every couple of months to see if the price goes down...

Headed out all by myself this afternoon. It's the first time that I've gone alone, without someone driving me. I went to the post office, the gas station, the bank and the grocery store. Now I want to collapse....but it's too late for a small snooze, I'd be up all night.

84° out there, with a low predicted of 56° tonight.
Andy....you need to move here and read meters. The guys do it from a truck and use binoculars!

What? They sound like a bunch of wimps to me....................

Our town is so far behind the times it isn't funny, but then again, it seems like all our $$$$ goes into the $28 million dollar community center that was built a few years ago. Oh well, I only have a couple more years to go and I won't have to worry about it anymore.............:rotfl:

I think it's the five or more acres between houses that sealed that deal for them....but you are right...they're wimps. The binoculars are so that they don't have to get out of their trucks in case of dogs, coyotes, javalinas, etc. :sad2:

Well, this makes 1001 (a nice palindrome of a number) so it's a guarantee that I will have more than 1000 posts on this thread before we sail . . . I think the thread is going to get very active next year as we plan excursions, start fish extender lists and chartered bus reservations, etc., etc.

I had ta look up what a palindrome was as it had 3 syllabos - an' a swabbie gets a bit confused with anything over two syllabos.

A palindrome is a word, phrase, number or other sequence of units that has the property of reading the same in either direction (the adjustment of punctuation and spaces between words is generally permitted). Composing literature in palindromes is an example of constrained writing. The word "palindrome" was coined from Greek roots palin (πάλιν; "back") and dromos (δρóμος; "way, direction") by English writer Ben Jonson in the 1600s. The actual Greek phrase to describe the phenomenon is karkinikê epigrafê (καρκινική επιγραφή; crab inscription), or simply karkiniêoi (καρκινιήοι; crabs), alluding to the backward movement of crabs, like an inscription which can be read backwards.

Wouldn't it be easier to just say it reads the same, forward and backward?
:headache: Now I gots me a headache.

Around here, most of the meters are inside of the house. Our newest type of meters are called touch pad meters, and I have to plug in a machine to the side of the house in order to read the meter, so I have no choice but to walk around to get the readings. The town next to us have meters that are hooked up to the telephone lines, a computer in the office sends a signal to the meter and the meter sends the reading back to the computer. I don't like that system, it puts people out of work.

I guess I'd forgotten that my parent's meter is inside their house, too. It's in the lower level (finished basement) and can be viewed from the outside through a glass block in the wall. I feel sorry for their meter reader, because he'd have to get down on all fours, and duck his head under the over hang of the above family room. I know that's hard to picture, but trust me....it definitely is NOT an easy job.

Ours are all outside, on boxes near the garage or on the side of the building.

I know it's a little early, but we got our Christmas cards in the mail today and I thought I'd share it with all of you, especially since I don't have many of your addresses, this our :santa: Christmas Greeting :santa: to you!!!

Anymore people getting cabin assignments? I am still a Cat 7 QTY.
I think we got the last Cat 6 GTY because we don't have a cabin assignment either (plus I'm embarrassed to admit to how much we spent for it:sad2: )

Spent the weekend in Palm Desert at the DILs. Weather was great upper 80's. Went biking, fishing and swimming. Pictures from my new camera

I am feeling great today, thanks. Unfortunately, treatment tomorrow. It all starts again :faint: . Don't know if I will make it for Thanksgiving Dinner at the In-laws. They are just around the corner so I can go over anytime when I feel better. [/COLOR]
I think I would go nuts if my In-laws were around the corner from me:eek: You must be lucky to have ones that you get along with:thumbsup2

A very famous palindrome relates to this cruise:

A man, a plan, a canal: Panama

Go ahead -- try it! (except for the punctuation, of course)

Lovely, Andy -- it's so much fun to use a picture from a cruise for a Christmas card, and that one was so nice of all three of you.
